Judging by the chatter around me, there's a lot of talk within Britain of separatism in all fronts. Anecdotal, but I know a group of around 50 people who have given up on electoral politics and started their own enclosed economy, where the members support each others businesses and help each other in tax avoidance. They've started buying up land up land and a farm up north to build their own community to wear out the incoming storm of globohomo.

Patriotic Alternative have also shifted their focus onto building a separate nationalist only economy. I think a few of their members are also in talks of purchasing land.

Obviously, this separatist agenda is pushed for differing reasons, but I see great opportunity for nationalists.

That's great to hear. Makes me want to head back to the motherland and help them.

I doubt anything will come of it, but if it does happen, it would simultaneously neutralise much of the power of the left in both Scotland and England - the SNP hegemony in Scotland will instantly collapse as soon as they separate and as to England, England itself is the most right wing kingdom in the union, barring perhaps Northern Ireland, so the left would struggle more without Scottish support.

I'm sure that the leave faction has a core of leftists and petty nationalists who have wanted out for some time, but what about the new swing?

Mostly neoliberal youth. Look up age statistics for Scottish independence support - older Scots hate it.

Peter Hitchens always makes the joke the Scottish independence is a secret Tory plot and it makes me laugh.

The UK has been on the wrong side of pretty much every conflict in history. Fuck the UK. The Brits will outlast the UK as a political entity.

Aren't Scots more Leftist thus more supportive of the nonsense coming from London than the English population?

Interesting development. Their attitudes have shifted a great deal in the last year.

Will Scotland actually move towards independence, though? Will the people push their politicians hard enough to make it happen? That remains to be seen.

I disagree with the premise about not liking London for its recent policies. Put a creep like Sturgeon in charge and Scotland will be doing everything Johnson is doing but times ten. What's more is I think the Scottish people actually want that as well as a deeper relationship with the EU.

Funnily enough the only people who will actually benefit from Scottish independence will be the Tories.

And a Scottish independence would mean the Scotts could then focus on a genuine nationalist party unlike the SNP.

I think this is extremely wishful thinking. I see absolutely no signs, as of yet, of any genuine nationalist feeling coming from Scotland. Much like the Irish too much of their energy is wasted on petty grievances with the English and not independence and self-determination.
