I'm sure we've all seen that many radical and even moderate leftists insisting that Trump and MAGA are so evil that they shouldn't have to find common ground or promote 'unity' or 'healing'.

What amazes me is that leftists are making this false equivalence between how Republicans have previously acted after winning elections and how leftists are acting now. The key difference to me is that, after winning an election and gaining momentum, republicans wanted the left crushed POLITICALLY and eventually culturally. But they weren't looking to create an environment where leftists are banned/fired/beaten in the streets/etc. On the other hand, leftists right now are actually calling for all right-wingers as PEOPLE to be demolished and dehumanized. That's what I find unprecedented here.
