I read this article earlier today, and I am not impressed. Unz makes the case that white majority, Democrat cities are rioting, whereas white minority cities are not. And therefore, the Republican focus on restricting immigration is misguided.

Imagine if we extended this analogy to Israel. 'Oh look, the Palestinians are so well behaved! They aren't out rioting like the Jews are! Maybe Israel should reconsider their immigration policy. Maybe they should dismantle their borders and let more Palestinians in.'

Its a very weak argument, really. More than anything, it reveals the Jewish side to Unz' character.

It doesn't seem to be the first time that he's conflating things or ignoring conflation (see his Hispanic crime article where iirc he never addressed the miscategorization of Hispanic criminals as white/Caucasian).

While in this article he doesn't seem to care to further parse what groups the white rioters belong to.

If he wanted to be more honest, he should have been more comprehensive in his analysis of which cities are rioting the most, there demographics, etc. Instead he chose to be rather lazy and look at Portland (anarchist/communist hotbed) and Minneapolis (where Floyd incident happened) as if those are representative and possess total explanatory power.
