How do you spend hundreds of dollars a month feeding one toddler? I have two toddlers and I've had to increase the food budget by about $10 a week for both of them.

I spend more feeding my cats.

Do you have 30 cats or are you feeding them tiny packages of meow meow goy slop?

[–]Musky 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Two male cats, one's around 18lbs and the other is an adolescent growing into that. They have the choice between kibble, kibble treats, wet food, and meat purees mostly.

See my kids eat the same food as my husband and I. No specialised items for them. I already buy in bulk so we're just increasing how much we eat in a sitting.

I can only assume someone spending 100s of dollars a month on kids food is buy organic goyslop marketed to kids in brightly course packages.

Yeah, and if that kid has a shellfish allergy, there's proteins in insects that'll set it off.

Might as well find out early and save a lot of money on raising the child.

This one simple trick can save you up to 16 years of child rearing expenses! Doctors hate it, undertakers love it!

It's well known that not all foods are equal despite having the same calories. There is higher quality protein across food types and even within the same food types. Thinking eating insects will be the same as beef is retarded. Even chicken isn't as good as beef long term. The food chain is real.

Even chicken isn't as good as beef long term

Why do you say that? Chicken is, as far as I can tell, practically the perfect food. Just wish it didn't taste so fowl.

Ba dum-ching!

[–]proc0 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If the beef is decent quality, it has more fat, probably more protein, and I believe it has more nutrients overall. Personally I feel the difference when recovering from exercise or physical work.

Insects are cheap and healthy, why not.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

No.

[–]Bigs 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because they're not healthy and we already have superior, healthier food.

She’s being paid to promote an agenda. Has your head been in the sand for the past three years?

[–]Site_rly_sux 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

No she's not you fucking weirdo. It says right there on the link. She tried fried insects in Asia and didn't mind the taste.

Why do you allow yourself to insert your fake paranoid conspiracy bullshit into a story that's documented right Infront of your face

[–]Bridgeheadprod 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

You seem really angry. I’m gonna say it slowly. Read twice if it helps you. Some people eat bugs. Some people eat shit. The fact that the media is picking up on this, promoting it, and trying to make you love bugs so much that you swear at internet strangers in defense of it, is because they have an agenda, and if you doubt that then you have been asleep for the past three years and I hope you wake up eventually

[–]Site_rly_sux 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah it's because the daily heil correctly determined that it would draw clicks to their website.

And they often virtue signal to conspiritard stories.

Actually if you were really interested (which you aren't) you would have taken the 15 seconds to do the same checking I just did.

The fascist rag clearly describes the woman is a "food writer", which should have signalled to you that this is a social media story.

You could have searched her name in Google, eg

https://muckrack.com/leightiffany

It's a social media story to drive clicks from weirdos like you.

If you want to falsely claim it's a conspiracy then you need actual evidence instead of feelings.

The simplest reason for a dumb fascist rag running a conspiritard social media story is - they correctly identified that you would click on it. Which is what their metrics and kips are optimised for. Retard

Have you ever eaten insects? I have, they're tasty.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They smell bad.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Really?

[–]hfxB0oyA 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I tried a cricket protein bar once. It was awful. Not necessarily because it was crickets, but because it was a protein bar.

Sadly, I don't believe you are wrong. Woke knows no limits when it comes to perpetuating evil.

Venus Kalami, a board-certified pediatric dietitian and nutritionist at Solid Starts, told the outlet that bugs are indeed 'packed with key nutrients like high-quality protein, essential fatty acids, minerals like iron (some have more than beef) and zinc, vital B vitamins, and more.'

'During infancy, a child is particularly receptive to exploring a wide variety of foods - a strong argument for introducing insects early on and getting ahead of any negative stereotypes around eating bugs, such as being "scary" or "inedible,"' she added.

a child is particularly receptive to exploring a wide variety of foods

That's because they don't have a choice. The parent says eat it and they have to.

There should be some law against targeting children.

    [–]Site_rly_sux 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

"Targeting" with what? The flying aeroplane spoon? Are you fucking mental?

I just thought it's funny that Murdoch's Daily Mail found a pro-bugs nutritionist for a comment.

    [–]HiddenFox 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah that is pretty funny but it doesn't seem too hard these days to find someone with a piece of paper willing to say pretty much anything. In fact that's kind of sad now that I think about it...

    [–]Musky 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Raise your kids on free range cockroaches.
