Those oral polio vaccines constantly cause outbreaks. Most polio outbreaks actually come from these live vaccines nowadays. Usually it's a mild form but sometimes (supposedly only after mutating) it still paralyzes kids. I think it's unconscionable that they're still using that stuff. The US hasn't used live polio vaccines for decades.

This data shows that Bill Gates' funding supported NEW version of the Oral Vaccine is possibly finally starting to drop cases of serious paralysis. This is still much less risky than the actual, full Polio viruses devastating results.

Spreading of vaccine derived Polio from Oral type Polio vaccines, which use a live, but weakened version of the virus, have always been a problem. Yet, the vaccine shed virus from previous version of the oral Polio vaccine for decade(s), when spread to populations with no vaccination at all long enough, resulted in a concerning amount of serious paralysis cases.

The Gate's funded successor to the oral Polio vaccine, which only started being used in 2020, is specifically intended and expected to have less, if not few, resulting paralysis case as a result, despite still spreading a vaccine derived Polio to vaccinated populations. It use in the place of the old oral vaccine is still increasing. While the the data shows a considerable positive drop in paralysis already, it is hard to say Covid and Covid lock-downs' impact skewing that. Hopefully, Gates' funded new oral vaccine accomplishes its goal.

This risky oral Polio vaccine type is important, because it is very cheap and easy to distribute, administer, and transport. It had, and should be, mostly used in poverty stricken areas, by foreign donated humanitarian eradication efforts, and somewhat considered third world countries.
