Saw it on /r/all and I don't know what it was like before this, but it seems like the hostile takeover has already begun. Their #1 rule is you can't post off-topic content except "content supporting inclusion, celebration of diversity or holidays" which sure is convenient.

They've been doing this shit for years. Whatever is the hot topic activist social war issue of the day, they'll find some way to justify allowing a post on it, then ban anyone who complains that it is irrelevant.

It is typically a sign of poor leadership and a decline in quality of the online forum. Regardless of your position on polarizing political issues, once you allow them in a space that is ostensibly apolitical about something else entirely, you turn the space into a partisan political space. Activist types cannot have hobbies and must attempt to tie everything into the cause, so they will naturally try to do this for every space they infect, and without good leadership in a group they will eventually succeed. This like any infection kills the host, in this case the group, as once people realize it is infected they will leave and start new groups that don't suck.

There’s a screen cap of a 4chan post that’s floating around. It talks about how trannies don’t live free in everyone’s head because instead they kick the door down. The poster talked about an almost identical situation where they were on some Metroid discord and another member had just come out as trans, and the poster got BANNED from the forum for positing about Metroid instead of fawning over the “egg” that had finally “cracked”.

My Reddit usage is limited to a few subs that are not heavily moderated nor do they need to be, and mods only get involved when something is pretty glaring (these are boring subs, parenting and what not).

It’s crazy to me that a mod can have broad discretion to turn a sub into their personal fiefdom, but I also get that in Reddit culture, what you are allowed to get away with is correlated to who/what you are and what your beliefs are.

And then he’ll turn around and cry through his butthurt ass that people are less and less “tolerant” of TWAAAANSSSSS people. He 1000 percent wanted a forum about fucking BATMAN to fawn and give him attention for how BWAVE he is. He just has to center himself in a place where the topic of the conversation is already established.

It’s main character syndrome and attention whoring of the most obnoxious sort, and helps hurt the LGB community because he has to glom his fat slimy arms onto them and slobber that he’s “one of them!”

This is why most of us normal people are sick to death of this craze. I know I sound like a pretentious dick for what I’m about to say, but to me, this is evidence that there are simply losers out there. They have nothing meaningful to offer the world, have no real skills, nothing that makes them interesting. And I think we can all safely assume what a dude like this looks like. It used to be that the people around him would have helped him out with a little tough love. Like his dad saying, “son, you’re acting like a crazy pervert. Man up and knock it off.” People around him at school and work would have told him, “hey, you’re acting like a freak, and it makes the rest of us really uncomfortable! Pull yourself together, man!”

But now, too many people are taking the bait and offering him disingenuous praise and validation. They’ll tell him that acting like a fucking weirdo man in a dress and bad makeup is “brave and inspiring,” when the women who gas him up almost certainly would never touch him with a hundred mile pole and would find the prospect of sex with him “laughable at best.”

It’s not helpful to reinforce this kind of selfish perverse behavior. It does nothing to help him, and he’s almost definitely at a higher risk of self harm now. We need to be able to socially correct and support people who are acting in a way that is detrimental to the health and safety of not just himself but the community as a whole.

And seriously. Fuck that mod. It’s a Batman forum you stupid fucking clown. It’s not there to gas up loser guys who masturbate to mental imagery of themselves dressed as Harley Quinn.
