Team Pink went on to beat Team Black in the tournament final by a score of 7-1, despite holding a team meeting in the second period to decide whether or not to continue the lopsided game.

Hahaha!

As you probably guessed, Team Pink was mostly "women" (male) and Team Black was mostly "men" (female). They couldn't have set it up better to prove how dumb their ideology is.

Almost like biology is a real thing!

After this they might as well call themselves Team Black & Blue

I am shocked, shocked! Well not that shocked

Seriously though is there anyone with a brain who didn't have that as a likely result?

Genuinely? No. But there are people who'll happily claim otherwise even though they know it's bullshit.

The most egregious example I've seen recently are "Actually, adjusted for height, mass, body fat percentage and every other possible advantage, there is no advantage". Which, no shit. If you adjust for every advantage that advantage isn't going to exist anymore. The fact those advantages exist is the problem

Lol even then I'd still put a man at the same everything as me as knocking me out/beating me with ease. Men are just stronger.

I am baffled as to how some idiots have gotten into such denial about how much stronger men are than women. A man at my exact height and weight is still going to be able to toss me across a room without too much trouble. What a bizarre timeline!

Seriously! I remember being a teen playing basketball with some male friends, just some super casual friendly shit. I got nudged how they'd nudge one of their male friends and I went flying lol. He literally did not intend to do that and was so shocked/apologetic after. If he can do that without even trying imagine what damage he'd be able to do if he actually wanted to.

Anyone in any doubt needs to do something like that. It might knock some sense into them when they realise how overwhelming it is. Frankly it's terrifying the first time you encounter it and realise how vulnerable you actually are. Same when I playfight with my bf and I know he's not even trying and I won't be able to move. Like how have they never done anything like these things? The only thing I can think of is that everyone has always handled them with the kid gloves but even then teens/young men often don't know their own strength and destroy you by accident lol.

The fact those advantages exist is the problem

Reminds me of Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, from it's wiki entry:

In the year 2081, the 211th, 212th, and 213th amendments to the Constitution dictate that all Americans are fully equal and not allowed to be smarter, better-looking, or more physically able than anyone else. The Handicapper General's agents enforce the equality laws, forcing citizens to wear "handicaps": masks for those who are too beautiful, loud radios that disrupt thoughts inside the ears of intelligent people, and heavy weights for the strong or athletic.

The real question is why those women accepted to fight vs men.

[–]bopomofodojo 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Because they centered their identity around a desperate attempt to "be male/men" despite reality getting in the way? It's fucking sad but not unexpected.

Idiocy

[–]SerpensInferna 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is really what it comes down to.

[–]SerpensInferna 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is a legit question. It's because they say they are men, therefore they are men, so any inherent biological disadvantages become moot at that point. I mean, makes sense to me.

I mean, play stupid games, win stupid prizes, I guess....

[–]shadeviking 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is perfect. Not only is it men destroying women in sports but it's after both sides transitioned, at which point there's "no difference" according to these people. Can't bullshit their way out of this one.

I mean, hockey isn't ballet. People get concussions in men's and women's hockey too. I'm sure the woman didn't get a concussion just because it was a trans person.

[–]jet199 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

What a dumb take.

Being trans isn't the issue.

The woman got concussion because it was a man.

[–]UncleWillard56 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Not really. It was advertised as a trans event. Of course there were going to be biological men and women playing. If it had been a women's hockey game and a trans woman was allowed to play, that's be different.

[–]Datachost 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

A male/female collision is going to carry a much greater risk of concussion for the woman than male/male or female/female. Off the top of my head, the World Rugby consultation into trans inclusion put it at about 30% greater, I imagine it'd be similar for hockey.

[–]UncleWillard56 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'd agree if this was a woman's tournament and a trans woman was allowed to compete, but this was advertised as a transgender hockey tournament. They knew what they were getting into. Maybe that concussion knocked some sense into the woman and they now realize the difference. Why was a woman (meaning biological) in a trans tournament anyway? Unless it was a trans man. Same argument there.

Quillette has full coverage including video of the hit that caused the transman to be knocked out. It actually looked like a fairly light tap from the video, having watched a fair amount of hockey and played US football the hit didn’t look anything like as strong as the sorts of hits you get in regular games between men - but that could just be because of the angle.
