You can click the "edit subs" button at the very top to change your subscription list. You can change your user preferences so your front page is your subscribed list, or just simply /all.
On the tabs below the banner, you can click 'fun' to see all the posts by only the fun votes. Similar with the 'insightful' tab. And the 'comments' tab will show you every single new comment posted on the entire site (including from the subs blocked from /all). You can mute subs from your /all or /comments pages permanently by clicking 'mute sub' beneath any post from that sub. You can un-mute it by going to that sub and clicking 'un-mute sub'.
By your 'preferences' button there is a black-and-white flag picture, you can click that to change between day and night mode. It will remember your setting if you are logged in.
The chat box on the right is an IRC channel for every single sub. You go to a sub, you are automatically in that sub's IRC channel. Mods of a sub can disable this chat box for their sub if they want.
Aaron Swartz once said that "Information is power. But like all power, there are those who want to keep it for themselves."
Because we want to empower everyone and information availability itself, saidit is an entirely open-source and donation-driven project, and we've made our tools easy to use for others who want to set up their own saidit instance. Here is our open source repository for the main site with instructions on how to install your own: https://github.com/libertysoft3/saidit
Even our android app is open source, and is available here: https://saidit.net/s/SaidIt/wiki/index#wiki_apps_.26amp.3B_clients
The website is well-written to resize to your phone's web browser as well, so you can simply view it that way without the app.
And lastly, if something is funny and insightful, you can vote both at the same time!
