Pfizer Scientist: ‘Your Antibodies are Probably Better than the Vaccination’ by salvia_d in conspiracy

[–]One_Jack_Move 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Most of us have believed that natural immunity is best immunity. Especially with these "70%" effective "vaccines". But it's good to see actual Pfizer scientists saying it and even explaining why. And it's said here in a casual situation (howbeit undercover) so it comes off as very honest.

The next logical thought is: Are (were) we wrong to use leaky vaxes on the entire population to attempt a sketchy herd immunity? Or would we be significantly better off vaxing(or, in the beginning, isolating) only the high-risk people - and then allow the strong, healthy ones to catch it and gain stronger, natural immunity? I've always leaned toward the latter, and the more evidence I see, the more I am convinced.

I hope you aren't suggesting that not getting the vax is "causing harm to others". That line is Bullshit. Way more harm has come to others from world leaders/governments locking us all down for a year. The damage from their overreaction will go one for decades! For what could have been pretty much done with in a year if we just isolated the at-risk until the vax was ready and then let people decide what the best choice is for their own personal risk-reward of getting the vax. That is a Libertarian (classic liberal?) point of view, IMO.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying. I'm just pointing out that even if we work with the numbers we are given things aren't all rosy with the vax. It's crazy that we have to do the math on these things and the news won't report any of this, even when it's with their own numbers!

You can verify these numbers for yourself: https://vaers.hhs.gov/data.html

I spit-balled some data I dug there, my numbers could easily be wrong, and yeah, you gotta trust all the data etc., but here goes:

Around the end of April about ~125,000,000 have gotten some kind of COVID jab in the US. And the VAERS data shows at least 3,419 people had death as a side effect of the vax. That's 0.000027 or 0.0027% chance of dying from the vax.

It's not a totally fair comparison (all ages vs one), but the latest odds for those 18 and under to die from catching COVID was 0.0020%

Said another way, your chance to die after getting the vax is 27 in a million.
And if you are 18 or under, the odds of dying after getting COVID are 20 in a million.

More likely to die from the vax than COVID if under 19?

I agree, it's "natural" for plants to kill each other. I'd say it's natural for humans to kill each other too. But we do also have the ability to recognize when it's more advantageous for us (and others on the planet) to not kill (or "hate"). These advantages are many, and may have led to our evolution past plant and lower-animal intellect & ability. Maybe there is higher life form(s) who sees all outcomes and always makes the best possible decision for everyone/thing? Maybe we can aspire to be more like that.

I have to admit, this silly image made me think. 👍 I get the joke about monsters on the TV show, its funny and worth a stoned-moment, surface epiphany. But if there is an attempt at a bigger moral here implying other life on earth is more kind... (monsters are always human) Well, plenty of animals/insects will kill (and even eat) each other in mating/status rituals. Hell, even plants strangle each other to death. Basically, in as much capacity as is possible; they can hurt, offend, and hate each other. I guarantee if other animals and plants could talk they'd be using that skill to hurt other's feelings, if one considers that "hate". But speech is also used for good.

To quote another cartoon, "with great power comes great responsibility." Let's not blame all of humanity, only the ones who cannot be responsible with their power. It seems odd to say the rest of life on Earth lacks hate simply because they do not have equal talents. I mean, I know at least 1 of my 2 cats hates me, so... LOL - Otherwise, we have to say that the greater the power the more evil one must be.

Perhaps the real "monsters" are the ones who lack responsibility, whatever their power. Yes, the lesser the power the lesser their effect I admit, but I don't like the idea of limiting everyone's power just because some might WILL abuse it.

Another thought: Do plants hate because they strangle each other, ignoring their other plant-kind, only to maximize their own life and health?

Honestly, I don't like the word "hate" used like this. "Evil" might be better, but that's a whole other discussion. ;)

In the same vein, there have been studies showing that a first-born child is much more likely than later-born children to do well in life. Of course they are not twins, only siblings, but even that small variation in genetics can have observable effects. I have always guessed that variation was due to nurture, not nature, but perhaps there is more to it.

Seems so, approximately.

I wanted to expand on how much worse the Spanish Flu was, but estimates vary so much from study to study that it's silly to say much more than it was significantly worse. As /u/TheJamesRocket mentioned below, the the 1918 world population may have been higher than OP's image suggests. If experts can't even agree on what the population was in 1918, anyone's guess at the specific mortality of the Spanish Flu is pretty questionable.

The Scandemic by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]One_Jack_Move 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I agree firmly with the intention of this image, but it was made several months ago. Current "official" worldwide death count is at around 1.8 million and that estimate will stay about that for 2020.
That number will increase in 2021 by some estimates, up to a total of ~3 million.

This would be 0.023% (0.038%) of the now 7.8B world population (depending if you go yearly or estimated total). So... worse than the 2018 flu season, but absolutely nothing like the 1918 Spanish flu.

Of course, this is all dependent on the reliability of the data recently collected, and the data collected in 1918.

definition: intense, selfish desire for something

I have an intense, selfish desire to stay alive. Am I "greedy"? Not by your extrapolation on that definition. But maybe I am, if I won't sacrifice my life for a bus full of children... I'm not sure why I chose the word brevity, only that my interpretation of greed includes "individuals perusing their separate goals".

You may be skipping over Milton's condition of "great achievements". I believe there have been societies that could be called successful, small-communities and co-ops, but they accomplished very little in the way of making life generally better. I like modern medicine, and cell phones, and believe it is important to make advances and discoveries that can benefit all. Maybe I'm brainwashed that this is a requirement for a great society? But it feels very crucial to me.

Do you really believe that all humans from all of time have been inherently self-serving?

Maybe not all humans. But by and large the vast majority of them, yes. And even when at their surface some may not seem so, deep down they are - at least in some facets. Most people have within them BOTH good-will and selfishness.

you will find that there are folks who throw their lives into uplifting others

Yes, and they are wonderful and admirable! Perhaps, helping others brings them more joy than helping themselves. In which case, I'd say those desires are non-selfish and therefore not greedy. Is that your point? Is there a system that props these people up to be an example for all? In this system, who judges their actions?

Thanks for a nice discussion.

I feel you, you are right that consumerism has left folks feeling empty inside (as it should). There must be balance. But we can't fight human nature (greed). Of course, you can bend human nature with incentives. There is certainly room for more production and less consumerism inside Capitalism. People should be shown that buying shit won't fill their hearts, and that having responsibilities is a better way to finding meaning. But I digress...

Capitalism isn't perfect, it's just the best we've got. The harder part is keeping Free Markets - and reminding people it's not all about the Benjamins.

On the contrary, when trying to accomplish a large-scale process like feeding a populous, there would be far more waste if a single head-of-state, or government department attempted to do it on their own.

Or do you think if everyone just grew a tree and some other crops they could feed a city?

Economies of Scale are a hell of a thing.

Honestly it's a miracle [of capitalism] that by going to mass quantities they are able to provide quality food that is cheap, easy to eat, and non-perishable. While at the same time employing a huge number of people. Everyone from the farmers, packers, distributors, merchants, and advertisers - to scratch the surface.

Your friend with a tree can (seasonally) enjoy lots of peaches, but is that all she needs (or wants)?

*I upvoted this post because it is a perfect, if simpler, example of "I, Pencil" or the "Lesson of the Pencil".
It proves how efficient the process truly is, despite the distances involved.

By the looks the latest entries in her Wikipedia page, the woman that certainly created that phony account seems like she's about at the end of her rope:

McLaughlin currently works at MeTooSTEM, the non-profit organisation that she founded in order to advise scientists who are victims of sexual harassment.[5] Seven leaders left the #MeTooSTEM advocacy group in 2019 after complaining about the abrasive style of and lack of transparency by McLaughlin.[14] Two more members in leadership positions of the organisation resigned in 2020 after alleging that they were "bullied" by McLaughlin.[15]

On August 3, 2020, McLaughlin's Twitter account was suspended.[16]

This is kinda eerie. Been following all morning.

Their (America's Frontline Doctors) video from yesterday was scrubbed from Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. I was watching their livestream this morning and it's just crashed.

Was reading a /r/conservitive/ (groan, I know) thread about yesterdays video and top comment is attempting to discredit the video and explain it all away by shaming one of the doctors [Stella Immanuel] for her crazy views on some medical topics. But the "head" doctor is a fairly vetted DR, Simone Gold. Not sure about the other DRs as the list of them on their website has been overloaded (DDOS?) all morning.

Seems like there is so much more to loose, than there is to gain in woke/cancel culture these days. It only a matter of time before you piss off one group or another.

I agree with your questions. I believe it is a combination of some of them, but mostly poverty.

You are missing one question that some will want answered: Is it genetics? At my core, I do not believe that. But all of these questions should be studied (and maybe others) if we actually want to improve the statistics. Instead we mostly ignore root causes; and instead focus on after the fact band-aids (like free stuff and preferential treatment) and ridiculous posts on social media (black boxes and thoughts & prayers) - because they are easy and quickly show our virtue.
