One of the purposes of moderation is to facilitate conversation. Sometimes a moderator must make a call on when something is breaking a rule or conversation is becoming redundant/insulting/ or off topic. For example, your post was on frustration with bisexuals when one on gold stars and frustration bisexuals was active and continues to do so without intervention.

As a lesbian space , it is known that there are frustrations with bisexuals and trans community, however, is that all a lesbian space is to be? Can an ongoing 90 plus comment post about bisexuals suffice for the day?

On the topic of bisexuality. Someone who disagrees with you or looked at a boy during childhood once is not bisexual, or at least an extreme call for another to make . Sheesh. Even moderation is being called bisexual, when we are both gold stars,on the basis of disagreement. I know we are trying to guard our space now more than ever, but at what cost if everyone is making accusations based on an experience that is not similar to yours? Or making the accusation to anyone that disagrees with you?

Trying to find the right balance not only into the space we want to become here but the type of community we want to become overall is extremely tricky. We will revise some moderation but not all. In addition to that, we are seeking a new moderator. So be on the lookout for that. Perhaps that may help balance things off.

I've noticed the censorship too with things and comments by people being removed that aren't bad or even controversial. I wish the mods would stick to just deleting clear trolls or non lesbians and leave it at that.

I've noticed it too. Comments that literally didn't break any rules, gone. If they delete this too at least there's record of it existing. I'm very confused by what's going on here. Sometimes users will legit talk about their crushes on men (not even in a "comphet" way, sorry I hate that word and feel too many bi women use it as a shield from their own heterosexual attraction so they can come into lesbian spaces). But that gets to stay up on s/Lesbians. Yet comments that haven't broken any rules are regularly removed? And my thread about homophobia from bisexuals masquerading as lesbians comes down?

What good is a lesbian space where we can't even talk about our experiences while bisexuals are allowed to openly post? Do mods care to explain themselves or will they just continue alienating the lesbians here until none of us are left? Are we only allowed to write things you agree with?

EDIT: fixed typo

I agree with you. It is puzzling for sure with the comphet posts, I hate talk of that anyway.

We should be able to post the things you are talking about because we have no other place. We already had one person who use to post regularly leave due to it, I believe. Sad.

What should I say then? Once I made post asking if people were going to the gym, even that was removed.

Agreed, I posted my story of internalized homophobia and misogyny and it got taken down. Please chill with the censoring here!

One of the mods is probably a hidden bi and doesn’t want certain things up

I don’t think so because the moderator who removed the post also removed comments from a user telling another user she was too harsh in how she communicated her aversion to relationships with bisexual women, as inappropriate criticism of another’s sexual boundaries.

I was wondering where that post went. For what its worth, I thought your post was fine. It shouldn't have been deleted imo. Hope the mods will sort it out.

This is part of why I stopped posting in this sub. Stuff getting removed that does not break the stated rules.

Inb4 this post gets deleted. Hi mods!

Could be that posts/comments have been reported. There was a post yesterday that seemed off, and was probably written by a troll. The user was new and had only made that partiular post. The post is gone today (or I can't see it).

There has been an influx of new users lately and some of their posts are bordering on reddid behavior. If someone report it the post can be removed. Sometimes the user that posted/commented remove their own p/c and it shows as deleted.

Perhaps some posts are better suited for reddit or ovarit than for saidit or for other forums on saidit. I don't know.

For the record, a post or comment that is reported doesn't automatically get removed. It still has to be manually removed by someone with mod permissions or higher (admins).

Trolls are obvious, most of us are used to them because we were brigaded all the time on Reddit. I'm not sure if I saw the post you're referencing but this thread is not talking about troll posts. I'm talking about comments and posts that are perfectly acceptable according to the rules of this sub but that are removed regardless. A comment that is manually deleted by the user who posted it will not show up in Saidit's public moderation logs. Link to our mod logs here.

I'm not going to lie and say that everything that mods remove shouldn't be taken down. I even recently commented my appreciation for how a very big thread full of misogyny directed at butch lesbians from our own members was taken down (although it took a while to come down). But there's absolutely nothing to suggest that some of the other removed comments and posts, which even other users here have noticed before their removal, are not "suited" for s/Lesbians.
