So “trans men” want to not only be included but centered in all discussions of female biology but they don’t want the exclusive group of people that experience all or any of those experiences, processes, or have that anatomy to have a word to describe the collective? Like we can talk as much as want about pregnancy and birth and vaginas and menstruation? But not girl/woman/female? And god forbid there’s no space between the words “trans” and “man?” So what is it they’re trying to identify away from? It’s clearly not the experience of being a girl/woman/female. They just don’t want to be connected to other women and want instead to get grouped with men whose experiences they in no way share? Um . . . . ?

'I'm not like the other girls' gone surgical.

"This is my friend who is uncomfortable when it's not all about them." NOT "This is a transvestite I know who has Narcissistic Personality Disorder among other bad mental problems."

Got it!

Most of them are literal children with no experiences. You can't force society to believe or act in one way. I as a gay man accept that there will always be people who dislike us - it would be much healthier if trans activists would also find peace in this.

TL;DR - Reddit is trash.

I am more and more convinced that Reddit is entirely / largely populated by under-18s. It's not only completely nonsensical posts like the one above that give me that impression (though they're always quite illuminating), but posts across the site more generally as well.

I used to be a pretty active user in /r/Books. At one point I was even in first place in their karma 'leaderboard' and had a blue star flair and everything. Meaningless internet points are meaningless, but validated me uwu.

Anyway, the majority of posts on /r/Books were remarkably childish: People desperate for advice when they're paralysed by indecision about what to read next; People asking inane questions about whether to read in bed or on a sofa; A never-ending parade of posts about Stephen King. Most telling of all, however, was the vitriol poured on anyone who suggested that, maybe, possibly, you should try reading books that might challenge you, rather than reading the Harry Potter series for the Nth time.

Don't gatekeep what people read!

Fuck off. Some books are better than others. I love the Harry Potter series (not least because I want to support our gender-critical queen) and will occasionally go back to it for nostalgia and escapism. I get it. But you're likely to get a greater return on your investment of time if you spend forty hours reading and digesting War and Peace than if you spend the equivalent amount of time re-reading Order of the Phoenix for the 2nd time this year.

And when I made trenchant, insightful (gone now, so you can't prove otherwise!) posts about grown-up literature, they would languish on 'New' with two upvotes because nobody had read the book and nobody had any actual interest in discussing literature.

1984 [It's actually called Nineteen Eighty-Four but whatever] wasn't meant to be an instruction manual!

Hundreds of upvotes.

Reddit is in a "purity spiral" whereby most people who don't conform to a narrow range of views are being driven away. But because they insulate themselves from majority views, they are the ones out of touch.

Gatekeeping. The genderosexual special people’s favourite buzzword.

I rarely post anywhere because same... Sorry I enjoy really weird documentaries or botany or making original photography and poetry... better just celebrate another trans day of recognition or post some anti-Trump meme to get some attention.

Like 10 years ago the average age on reddit was 15--half the people on the site are younger!

I don't take reddit seriously or up/down vote or care or even bother to write many comments much because it's just a bunch of Jr High and HS kids who don't know much of anything about anything.

[Screams] I'm so tired of everyone policing how other people speak. I prefer to say pussy hygiene because it's considered "vulgar" to a few groups of people for different reasons. 🤭

My period just ended today. I masturbated with a little body wash on my finger for pussy hygiene purposes. Is this offensive to say?

Girl dont use soap on ur pussy pls, it destabilizes the pH and can contribute to a possible infection or irritation 😭 only water is necessary!

Our friend down there is self cleaning so all we need to do is to clean between the folds with water to remove any excess sebum or sweat

/r/LGBT has been 'a community for 13 years' - why have all the moderators been replaced two months ago?

Only 95 percent of them were trans. They had to correct the imbalance

The admins re-ordered the list at their request: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgbt/comments/mi4kdq/update_regarding_recent_events/gt2rjl8/

I'm working on a small project in my spare time, going through old and new mod lists for LGBT and AL, and tagging everyone based on whether they're trans or not. I'll report back my findings soon! With what I have so far, the outlook is grim.

[–]NutterButterFlutterStill waving into the void 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Understandable :)

There aren't a lot of archives out there of the full mod list. Here's a couple I was able to find for comparison.

A lot of people stepped down between 2019 and 2021. Anyone happen to recall other dramatic purges?

You're all crazy, wtf

I can't read this comments section without losing faith in humanity. Jesus christ. Pronouns aren't a preference!! They're a NECESSITY in making someone feel okay about themselvesssss

So fucking stupid. Maybe you should feel bad. Sometimes it's important to feel unsafe, insecure, scared, anxious. This is how we grow as people. If you spend your entire life feeling nice and safe and coddled in your comfort zone, you won't progress mentally past the age of a 4 year old.

So sick of this echo chamber.

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 this applies to all (online) communities. I don't know what in the fuck happened after 2010, but everything was suddenly overly moderated.

On Reddit, I actually defended a racist gay dude who called me a n---er. Other people wanted him banned, and I was like no... let him speak his damn mind. He deleted his account. 🥺

“What pronouns do you prefer” implies that it’s optional. It’s not a preference. I would suggest alternatively “what pronouns do you use?” or simply “what are your pronouns?”.

So pronouns are requirements not a preference and it's evil to suggest otherwise, but which sex organs you want to interact with cannot be given the same level of respect....... Insanity

If someone came to me referring to me as they/them I would be so tired lmao... its pretty obvious I'm an adult human female sweaty lets not play games

Its very worrisome how kids nowadays are being told to deny obvious reality
