That is heartbreaking. Poor lad. He should sue his parents.

If it's any consolation, there are men of his height who are strong and capable, but a man being short is still a disadvantage. Especially when he could have been tall had his parents not abused him.

Yeah, being 5'3 because you were meant to be 5'3 and everyone in your family/ethnicity is around that height, and it's just normal for you is one thing, even when living in America where the average height is much higher. But to be stuck at 5'3 because of your parents (or if he's internalizing and blaming it all on himself) has gotta sting. Imagine going through life, looking at the mirror, and all you can think is "I did this to myself due to my own stupidity." I feel so bad for this guy. He was too young to make these choices. I hope he doesn't blame himself.

This is why the age to transition should be 21 and not a day lower.

The UK Government apparently looked into outlawing hormone therapy for under-18s, incl. hormone blockers. I usually don't agree with the Conservatives, but as they say, a broken clock is correct twice a day.

I hope they go ahead and ban this.

The latest research is showing that brains don't fully develop until mid-20s at the very earliest, so 21 might still be too young.

Yeah, it should be 25 years old at the minimum.

Can be too young, but still better than 12.

He'd better not blame himself. He was just a baby. He has no culpability in this at all.

All anyone has to do is type in "Lupron" (a widely-used puberty blocker) and "side effects" and whoever can read can see that puberty blockers are really fucking dangerous.

The puberty blocker Lupron is an advanced prostate cancer drug used to castrate sex-offenders, and yet Trans, Inc. has managed to snow one and all into thinking it's harmless.

[–]JulienMayfair 26 insightful - 2 fun26 insightful - 1 fun27 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

An older male friend of mine was put on Lupron as part of prostate cancer treatment. He said it was one of the most awful drugs he's ever taken. He said it caused severe depression and caused him to have extremely vivid flashbacks of traumatic events in his life, reducing him to crying for an entire afternoon in bed in the fetal position. This is someone who used to be head of a department at a major university. And this was only temporary use.

Wow, I'm sorry. And just think about what Lupron and other puberty blockers are doing to adolescents...

If anyone is calling politicians, make sure you tell their staff that puberty blockers are far from harmless. Ask them to simply type in "Lupron" and "side effects."

HRC went around the offices of US Congresspeople with trans kids and their sob stories, so a lot of congressional representatives and staffers have been lied to about puberty blockers and need to be set straight. Thanks.

BTW: thanks so much, Julien, for all that you've done and did to create these spaces - your hard work is very much appreciated!

Sounds like Jazz Jennings just terrible

[–]lavender_menace 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

except Jazz got his genitals annihilated. This boy seems at least to be intact.

Thankful for that. Jazz was a science experiment. No wonder they’ve disappeared from the public eye I just hope it doesn’t end with an obituary notice

The US's largest teachers' association/union, the National Education Association, sponsors, with HRC, an annual, nationwide reading of "I AM JAZZ" to schoolchildren pre-kindergarten to 5th grade.

Next February will be the 5th annual reading of "I AM JAZZ" to these very young impressionable kids.

Trans, Inc. is trying to indoctrinate school children into gender ideology, and America's largest teachers' union is helping them.

[–]worried19 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is exactly what activists claim never happens. They claim that every single child is properly identified and that no child would be put on cross-sex hormones after blockers unless they were truly trans.

If this story is true, then that's clearly not the case. And this is not the first detransitioner I've seen on that sub who started when they were middle school age.

This boy is almost certainly sterile as well. Putting a non-virilized male child on estrogen destroys male fertility, as far as I've read.

Puberty comes by only once. This is like knocking someone out until it passes, never to be seen by them again.

It shouldn't be done, even if a kid asks for it, thinking they want it because a shrink told them so. They are not mature enough to properly grasp the potential fallout years later and this is not emphasized to them.

There are so many things most adults would simply refuse to indulge that are much more benign. That's why I think there is a concentrated effort by vested interests to trans children for monetary gain.

[–]CAB_Life 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It’s common sense that interfering with a child’s natural development during their developmental years would do exactly this. The postulation that it wouldn’t was and remains lunacy. I feel terrible for this person, but they’re among the first of many, many such cases we’re to see.

God the horror.

This is child abuse. I wonder under what criteria the parents were operating on to believe that their 7 year old boy was trans. As if a kid has any understanding of what any of this shit means when even the adults don't.
