This ludicrous notion that “you’d never guess they were trans” when in 99% of all cases anyone with a functioning set of eyes can tell at first glance that there’s a certain biological incongruity, is the first issue. The second issue is the attempt to strip personal agency from one’s decision to have sex. Regardless of how passing, pretty, or amazing you are, no woman (or man, were the situation reversed) is obligated to be either attracted to you or to have sex with you. Period. The end. And finally, even if you were somehow this mythical passing transbian with a flawlessly constructed neo-vagina, the fact that you would leave out a detail so crucial to your past is indicative of narcissism, selfishness or a complete disregard for honesty.

Also—and being discussed on this thread—what happened to Jazz is terrible and I’m quite sure we haven’t heard the end of that story. Poor kid looks absolutely devastated on the inside. I think it was a Riley Denis video—don’t know that I need to go into more explanation there. Shortly thereafter I saw that Teen Vogue piece where they denied the existence of gender and one transwoman said she was scientifically, biologically female. Like, I was fine playing make believe with these people, as a courtesy, up until they started attempting to rewrite reality and shitting on women’s and LGB rights in the process.

Definitely not off topic and really interesting. That’s close to the total sum of 8-10% of most populations being LGBT, which we’ve statistically known since like the 90s, but it also makes a case for the alarming shift in ideology where these people would’ve previously identified as gay, lesbian or bi and are now picking different monikers. The “alarming” part is that you didn’t need a cocktail of life-long drugs and surgeries to previously affirm oneself.

Step one: don’t say “cis” anymore, as that immediately sets you as a player in their word-salad game. Also shit like queer, non-binary, etc should be erased from your vernacular. Step two: ignore any and all of these weirdos who think they can actually dictate who we find attractive/ form romantic partnerships with. Eventually they will leave you alone or dissociate from you to preserve their echo chambers. Step three: no need to label yourself transphobic when a belief in biological sex is valid and real with thousands of years of cultural and scientific proof behind it. The people who don’t believe in it are the equivalent of flat-earthers. Step four (the hardest imo): continue to speak sense and reason when confronted by this ideology. Don’t back down or lose your temper—let them unravel and get hysterical to reveal how tenuous and insane their beliefs and personalities are.

Reads like parody, but sadly it’s not. I think the whole “bootstraps” argument can be quite reductive, but some of these people are so simpering and spineless that you have to wonder if they’ve ever encountered anything truly frightful in their lives: job loss, sickness (physical not mental), the death of a partner or parent. Life is fucking hard and until you understand that and can cope with the challenges head on your existence will be nothing but a series of delays, excuses and failures. Unless you’re part of the ‘failing upward’ SJW brigade where you get accolades just for shitting, breathing, being depressed or pretending that you can actually have a period while born as a biological male.

Still, I can’t see these people looking back on their lives with anything but regret—whether they admit it or not. Part of cancel culture, a large part, is the continuous shifting of that blame and of the goalposts so that they never have to self-reflect.

I’m trying to parse this and I just can’t. Women’s (not gonna use T**F as that’s their language and nonsense) spaces and bodies are pretty simple to understand as a scientific concept; they have pretty unique markers and functions that trans bodies do not—and a host of associated unique psychological traits and socialization aspects that are far too complex to list here. We really need to come back to reality instead of this fairytale “no such thing as sex/ biology/ gender”. It’s pure fiction and a society can’t function on dreams alone.

It’s so that you can get virtue points and cheerleading for literal nothing, literal life/ struggle/ pain/ the human condition; the same shit that 99% of people deal with in silence and dignity. Or at least they used to before social media. And I’m not talking about some “tough it up, be a man” bullshit. There are genuine existential and emotional issues that we are meant to process as individuals, not as a collective. The entire process of self-reflection has been inverted and perverted to such a degree that we never see beyond the ‘identity’ of our flaws, when the process of enlightenment should be something like: self-assessment and reflection > identifying the issue > building up tolerance/ acceptance/ or strength over or from said issue > becoming a better person. Now we just do the second step and ignore any actual treatment since the issue itself is what’s celebrated—depression, obesity, coming out, whatever—not how we’ve accepted or dealt with it.

None of the hard work is being done anymore, and this will and is having catastrophic effects on universal mental health since ignoring an issue doesn’t resolve it in any way.

I managed to write an entire multi-book, critically acclaimed series without a single gender-swapping character and no one gave two shits. One of the most important aspects of a story anyway is strong characterization, and if you’re doing some paint by the numbers wokeness checklist that will reek of inauthenticity. I’ve seen many series like that in the last few years, including a much lauded sci fi one about transgender robots (can’t remember the name, think a Wired writer wrote it, and I actually did a reading with her back in 2018 and her head was so far up her ass on this stuff that she could barely breathe), which bombed on Goodreads and quickly vanished from popular culture under the wave of similar woke material.

Also, 90% of your audience—assuming you have grand aspirations for your work—will be heterosexual, and another sizeable chunk probably Christian or conservative, and yet you’ll find that demographic quite tolerant of LGB stuff, so long as it’s—again—not some major crux to your story. While my series isn’t romance, I’ve got one pairing of a very masculine woman and a very effeminate man that fans just adore, and another pairing of gay couple, with the occasional racy scene with said characters and no one cares or bats an eye.

Write well, write authentically, and the trolls won’t be much of a bother. Also helps to delete your Twitter account for general sanity’s sake.

The level of absurd self-deflection is really reaching new heights. Fully presenting woman (no matter how ‘masc’ you dress it will never make up for the former, nor should it as it’s fine to be a butch or masc woman) with breasts and a vagina walks into a gay sex party and feels “rejected” by a group of men who have come to—most likely—play with muscles and erections. These clowns have no fucking self awareness. The world owes them nothing, and it’s hard for everyone—to varying degrees. Don’t force your insecurities and validations on others and expect them to capitulate to your delusions.

There is no kind way or “kid gloves” to deal with this level of societal and cognitive dysphoria. That’s what the actual problem is: the entitled and erroneous belief that reality should conform to you rather than you should conform—at least on a basic level—to the fundamentals of reality.
