I nearly had a heart attack thinking Gender Critical became Gender Cynical

My google search autocompleted to gender cynical. I have never been on that sub.

I spent a solid four minutes becoming panicked after seeing a bunch of TRA insanity claiming that saying 'only woman get cervical cancer' is science denial and that having a dialogue about gender was disgusting.

I'm worried that people who read about "the Gender Critical subreddit" in the news might not find it when they go looking for it—but will find that cesspit instead and then believe that's what "GC" is about. Then again, it might just peak them.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry. Easiest way to peak anyone is to let them read TRA arguments, and that sub is the worst of it.

You gotta keep in mind, all of truth and reality is hostile to them. They can't step outside of their echo chambers without being triggered by something like their vet wants to neuter their male cat because he has balls. I imagine just being them is a constant state of cognitive dissonance.

Half of the posts were reasonable GC arguments and people were tearing them apart for being "bigoted" or "willfully ignorant."

Lurking in GenderCynical did more to push me towards actually hating trans people than any gender critical sub ever did. I actually had to stop reading it because it really was starting to make me prejudiced against all transwomen. The ones in that sub are so awful and misogynistic.

I accidentally ended up on a different part of saidit thinking I was still here and read some crazy ass stuff and was so confused, I thought our sub got brigaded or something. There are some seriously awful people off our nice little island... o.o

TRA seem to spend all their lives online, so I wouldn't be surprised if some ended up being Reddit's top mods.

The gloating post on AHS about the last banwave was strangely by an user who also happens to be a mod at one of the biggest subreddits...

Also, have you noticed how so many trans women on reddit are talking about radfems' "misandry" ? And saying that feminists are hateful "misandrist bigots"? Guess they're still a bit male after all /s

Uhm little do they know that it’s a badge of honor to have your stuff featured in their posts. It means you pissed them off enough to take up space in their “lady brains”. I actually thought it was a riot when they’d pick on the stuff I said on GC.

I think there’s a gendercynical guild on ruqqus where gender critical users took the name back. I don’t know much about it though. It’s a pretty small group, at the moment.
