I've been listening to a few interviews with Harry Miller - a man in the UK who had the police come to his workplace about transphobic tweets (and eventually won a court case against them) - and he has mentioned that trans people can choose to have a police person of a gender they choose, to check them (say if they had drugs on them). Which if it's a man requesting a woman and she has to check his nether region is akin to sexual assault.

But this lady, a rape survivor, is transphobic for wanting a female medic? Fucking hypocrisy.

I remember Levi Bellfield would only confess his rapes and murders to a female officer so he could get off on torturing more women.

They need to change this to protect female officers from abusers. In that case they already had enough to convict Bellfield without him saying anything and he didn't actually admit to the most famous murder he committed. These psychopaths just play games with the police.

It's where transwomen could make themselves useful - send in a TW officer (or a man who identifies as genderfluid and is playing a woman today) to search or check any man calling himself a woman. Problem solved

It's ridiculous. Sigh.

Female cops generally wouldn’t blink at the thought of either a frisk or strip search regarding a transgendered woman, they’re trained accordingly. Transwomen are over represented when it comes to crime among the LGBT, at least in Victoria, so it’s not uncommon for a female officer to accommodate a transwoman should the need arise.

I’m autistic - High Functioning Autism - so I have done the stats, and the sexual offending of transgender people is the same as biological males.

And she is right, it is. I am also HF and I'm a bit obsessed with the numbers and good data sources.

I've asked some on some trans rights subs for evidence TIMs commit crime at a lower rate, all I got were articles about police victimisation and poverty. A lot of them know the offending behaviour is the same and are trying to obfuscate that fact with waffle.

I'm interested in statistics aswel and it has been so hard to find stats about violence and crimes commited by transpeople. It's like a global conspiracy to cover that up.

Do you have a link? I find it to useful to save things like this to have handy in arguments

Here’s the most cited article on this issue: “Second, regarding any crime, male-to-females had a significantly increased risk for crime compared to female controls (aHR 6.6; 95% CI 4.1–10.8) but not compared to males (aHR 0.8; 95% CI 0.5–1.2). This indicates that they retained a male pattern regarding criminality. The same was true regarding violent crime.” https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885

Does it mention sex crimes? I've read this paper and I didn't see anything about that in particular

No wonder the UK has peaked. This is all levels of ridiculous and as she put it a mass cognitive dissonance.

How does this not have more 'insightful' points? This is exactly the sort of incident that insta-peaks people and it should be shared everywhere! This is precisely the thing to keep handy as a one-tap bookmark, so when some idiot says "trans rights" you can bust it out and say "Look me in the eye and justify to me why you think this is okay." Spread it loud!

The hospital's "apology" doubles down on gender feels over patient comfort and needs:

However, it is not possible to guarantee to any patient that they will only be treated by a clinician assigned to a specific gender at birth and, as an organisation that prides itself on our commitment to diversity and inclusion, nor would we wish to do so.

It is also important that patients see the clinician most skilled to deal with their medical concern. We recognise our employees by the gender they identify as on a daily basis as it is essential that we respect the gender identity of all our staff

Where are the LGBT and feminist groups who should be rallying around this brave and horribly mistreated woman? No matter how “trans women are women” you are, how can you stand to see a rape survivor shamed for not wanting a bio male to touch her breasts and genitals?
