Missä someissa olette ja minkä ikäisiä naisia noissa julkaisuissa on? Olen vähän somessa, joten en tiedä, miltä oma feedini näyttäisi, mutta luulen, että tämä on ikäisilläni (keski-ikäiset) hyvin harvinaista. Enemmänkin niin, että oma ikäluokkani ei edes ymmärrä, mitä on tapahtumassa ja nuoremmat ovat täysin ideaologian viemiä.

Keskustelun tulisi yltää jotenkin omaan viiteryhmääni - ymmärtämättömyyskin voi johtaa epätoivottuihin tuloksiin.

Kyseisellä ihmisellä on varmasti paha olo. Tunnen myötätuntoa ja samalla raivostuttaa, että hänen ilmeisesti kokemaansa sisäistettyä misogyniaa vahvistetaan sillä, että hänen transidentiteettiään tuetaan. Mitä todennäköisimmin tuki oman kehon hyväksymiseen auttaisi paljon enemmän.

Työhaastattelu, työyhteisö ja koulutusviikonloput ovat noin yleensä työkavereiden kanssa tapahtuvia tai vähintään ammatillisessa kontekstissa. Mikä näissä on siis uhkaavaa, pohdin vain? "tuntemattomat ihmiset humaltuneina" on skenaario, joka tuskin toteutuu esimerkiksi työhaastattelussa. Toki "väkivallan uhkaa" voi kokea vaikka 24/7, jos se tarkoittaa, että joku ehkä mielessään miettii että tämä naishenkilö taitaakin olla mies.

Ohisalohan otti kantaa siihen, että transpolille pääsyn lääketieteellisten tutkimusten muuttaminen on huono juttu. Käytännössä siis se, että perusterveydenhuollossa pyritään selvittämään, olisiko ehkä kyseessä mielenterveyden ongelma, ennen kun tulee lähete transpolille.

On todella kamala ajatus, että yhteiskuntana tukisimme mielenterveydeltään järkkyneiden yksilöiden yksisilmäistä työntämistä kohti kehonsa muokkaamista hyvinkin dramaattisin keinoin. On heikoimmin voivien etu, että ammattilainen lähettää heidät psykiatrian polille eikä transpolille, jos on epäilys siitä, että kyseessä on jokin aivan muu kuin transsukupuolisuus. Jos kyseessä on transsukupuolisuus, hoitoihin edelleen pääsee.

Ihanaa, että GC-foorumit on herätetty henkiin! Olin jäsen useissa vihapuheena tuomituissa ryhmissä.

Olen aina kokenut olevani feministi. Kunnes intersektionaalisuus sai jalansijaa. Loistavasta ideasta tuli mielipiteiden ja puheen rajoittamisen ja loputtoman loukkaantumisen mahdollistaja. Etäännyin valtavirtafeminismistä henkisesti tuossa kohtaa.

Teen töitä ja vapaaehtoistöitä, joissa kohtaan naisiin kohdistuvaa väkivaltaa syrjintää. En ole voinut sulkea silmiäni siltä, mitä käytännössä tarkoittaa esim. naisten kokema sukupuolittunut väkivalta tai uskonnollisten ryhmien naisiin kohdistuva, ajoittain hyvin väkivaltainen rajoittaminen. Jälkimmäisestä on kokemusta valitettavasti myös itselläni. On tuntunut järkyttävän pahalta, että ne realiteetit halutaan sulkea ulos feministisestä diskurssista.

En ole hetero, mikä tuo tähän soppaan lisäulottuvuuden. Verenpaine nousee katonrajaan ajatuksesta, että minun pitäisi edes teoreettisesti olla kiinnostunut mekkoon pukeutuneesta Martti-Pertistä, joka kokee sielunsa olevan seksistis-konservatiivinen naisen irvikuva. Oikeat naiset, joiden kanssa olen tapaillut tai ollut suhteessa, ovat olleet tyyliltään ja pukeutumiseltaan kaikkea androgyynistä supernaiselliseen. Naisia yhtä kaikki. Sekin tuntuu nykyisin olevan monille epäselvä asia.

Olen keski-iän kynnyksellä ja perheemme tytär on tulossa murrosikään. On karmeaa ajatella, että hän joutuu kohtaamaan ne samat, rajoittuneet sukupuoliroolit joita itse kohtasin - niistä on vain tehty/yritetään tehdä valtavirtaa. Aion kertoa kaikista omista teini-iän epämukavuuksistani ja epäilyistäni ja muistuttaa, että suuri(n) osa kokee murrosiän muutokset vähintään hämmentävinä, todennäköisesti jopa ikävinä. Eikä se tarkoita, että näitä kokemuksia läpikäyvä tyttö olisi mitään muuta kuin tyttö.

Outoa tosiaan kirjoittaa suomeksi! Dumppasin redditin kokonaan bannien jälkeen, koska en halua tukea nais- ja seksuaalivähemmistövihaista foorumia. Onneksi on Saidit.

Suomessa ei olla terveydenhuollossa lähdetty tähän juttuun mukaan - ainakaan ei ole tullut vastaan, että gyne alkaisi kysellä, miksikä mahdan identifioitua. Antaisin kyllä välittömästi sekä suullista että kirjallista palautetta. Ja vaihtaisin yksityistä gyneä unohtamatta kertoa ko. puljulle, miksi teen niin.

It is weird to follow this discussion from distance. I am European, white, academic, and middle aged. Sounds privileged, right? As I tell in my peak trans text, I grew up in a religious group led by men and was oppressed in many ways growing up. I also was severely bullied at school because of my background. Falling out of the religious group I ended up with people I should never have had anything to do with. I experienced violence for years.

I have spent most of my life in a country with not that many POC. I have learned about the privilege I have as a white person and I feel nothing but compassion towards POC, who face racism and hate because of their skin. POC here are mostly refugees and they have it rough: severe trauma, lack of language skills, some are illiterate etc. I feel like I am incredibly lucky to have been born here.

At the same time, I feel not so privileged. I am dealing with the trauma for the rest of my life, have lost lot of people when I left the religious group, have had years of struggling without anyone to support me. I made it this far and I am happy for it.

Too bad I will be Karen as soon as I open my mouth. White women are to be seen, not heard. It irritates me a lot at times that “white” seems to mean American people anyway. I am white but I have a hugely different background from the white women in even European countries. There are white women from poor countries coming here to do heavy work at farms. I would not call them privileged just because they're white.

Calling white women Karens is just one phase of the same phenomenom. It is and will be a campaign to ridicule women. As someone already said; it will be another group of women next.

My very first peak point was 20 years ago while I was in WLW party in a club. The party was inclusive, so that anyone who identified as woman could attend. It really bothered me that there was one TIM: white, middle aged man, who leered at me. His “feminine” make up and overly revealing clothing made me shiver. I had come specifically to see other women, not guys in dresses. I was fed up with men anyway, not least because of the men that wanted to tell me how to live my life when I was growing up.

I have a very conservative religious background. Because of that I was (and still am) in closet for my parents. I lost most of my relatives and everyone I grow up with just because I wanted to use make up, wear whatever I felt like, color my hair, use contraception… The list goes on. I found a lot of comfort from feminism. It helped through the horrible, dark years being shunned and alone. To no one’s surprise that religious group was led by men. Men hardly had to limit their life, while women were constantly pregnant and taking care of home and babies. The contrast with rest of the society was clear, although back then the whole society was more or less unfriendly towards women. We had and still have it quite good, though – Nordic countries are a good place to be at compared to lot of countries in the world.

Fast forward to couple of years ago. I was trying to attend a libfem environment, thinking it had something to do with the feminism I learned about as a young girl. To my horror they had no interest whatsoever towards recognizing the fact that there are thousands of women living in these closed communities. Leaving almost everything behind is horrible, even though these Christian communities do not actively harass or threat people who leave. This was totally irrelevant from the libfems point of view. It was labelled as something that should not even be talked about. It felt horrible that I could not identify as a feminist anymore.

JKR was the final point of me peaking. I read what she wrote, and it all made sense. After that I found GC and realized just HOW bad things are elsewhere. It makes me so angry that these men think they know what it is to be a woman. It is unbelievable that libfems are praising these abusive people, make it even harder for anyone to speak up.

TRA are attempting to change the legislation here as well. I have started my own little terfing campaign telling people what I know about how it is in the US and Britain. I have “by accident” started to wonder the state of things with some of my friends. The examples have been very eye opening for all of the people I have talked with. Majority of people have no clue about what is going on. Well well, some of them will know soon.

I am overly happy to find actual feminists. Thank you all for being here. Women for women. 😊

I can't see how the site would make any sense if TiF were allowed. There would be endless arguments about whether or not women have the right to even call themselves women.
