As it turns out later, they are a group of young air-hostesses from a neighbouring country who went for a night out because they had a day off. We are still expecting the arrival of the last friend of ours who is about 30 minutes late at the moment. The guy arrives in the next few minutes.

Right now I am spending some time in a village and there is this former ex-childhood female friend of mine who used to model in Italy when she was younger but became a full-fledged "corporate whore" over time. Not the Baltics but I expect the situation to be the roughly same across the whole Eastern Europe with some minor differences. Even the specific areas with stronger religious background and traditions that are being kept alive by locals don't seem to be immune agaist the globalization and legitimization of poor morals. People outside of the Eastern Europe tend to idealize the situation in here but it's not any better than the situation in the Western countries. Yes, there's undoubtedly a women's sociopathization happening as a result of promiscuous lifestyle. Neither. If I sensed my daughter is going childless direction, I would likely intervene before it's too late. I think it's the personal responsibility of the father, as is the paternal control over her to prevent the daughter becoming a slut. My female cousin is childless (possibly a virgin?) and my male cousin has two boys. They both lost their father when they were adolescents. I can only speculate but I believe she would already have had a family if her father had not died. I identify with the definition of idols serving as a means to detach oneself from what is important and keep you preoccupied with ideas, patterns and views affecting your behavior and decision-making leading inevitably to the cycle of malignant, (self)destructive consequences. There are obviously many layers of idolatry depending on how you view the phenomena, and I think it's a very interpretation-friendly subject that might work well in many seemingly unrelated contexts (psychology, politics, etc.). I finished a book called Counterfeit Gods from Timothy Keller about 1.5 month ago, and I find it very informative from the perspective of someone who doesn't read books regularly and doesn't have a thorough knowledge of the Bible (or just OT).

Religious influence is strongest in remote areas but it has been kept alive by older generations of people mainly. Younger individuals feel the need to relocate to bigger cities (or possibly move abroad) to get better job opportunities, so the influence has been slowly dying off. I believe this is a common scenario in many, if not all, Eastern European countries because economic pressure is still high over here. People might seem to respond to certain types of stimuli such as promiscuity in media better due to relatively homogeneous demographics, which favors such a behavior over, for example, inclusion of diverse racial/ethnic/religious minorities people really have not had a long experience with. So they are the least resistant to what appeals to them the most at the moment but will eventually succumb to the greater array of stimuli sooner or later.

It's the remnant of the communist rule that ironically protected people of the Eastern Bloc from the toxic cultural influence coming from the West. The software I work with at a company is simply horrible. It's so bloated with overly complex user interface and possibly hundreds of functions nobody really has any use for. Whenever there is a bug or some kind of error, it takes days for the developer team to get rid of it. There used to be the software made in the 90s I had worked with for years until someone decided it's "obsolete", and it was superior to any corporate application I've ever worked with in every respect. Super intuitive and simple interface, reliable, no crashes or bugs, efficient to work with.

It is highly unlikely. My perspective has been shaped by a repeated experience in real life that is by no means related to some kind of isolated phenomena such as porn industry. Both my parents are about to receive the first shot of mRNA vaccine later this week (either from Pfizer or Moderna). They went through Covid-19 infection during the autumn the last year and have never fully recovered in a sense they have still been experiencing some lingering residual or new symptoms (hair loss, neurological disturbances, insomnia, etc.). The acute infection was harsh as well. I am a layman, so I have no idea whether the experimental vaccine could cause more harm to them in the long-term or not. What is your opinion on that?

Regarding non-vaccine related shingles, I experience a bout of them once in two years or so, it's always in summer and it's always related to heightened stress during summer (both the psychological and physiological - sunburns or sun tanning and a rapid temperature changes are a major trigger for me). I have extremely high levels of antibodies against various herpetic strains (ebv, cmv, etc.) and any form of prolonged stress, including poor sleep, causes the reactivation of the virus thanks to its hampering properties to immune system function.
