Last month I wrote about how a liberal became the department head at work:
https://saidit.net/s/nonmorons/comments/7jk1/a_liberal_has_become_the_head_of_my_department_at/
At the end I speculated that he would shut down my software and unfortunately this came true today. He arranged a meeting with me, the scientist whose team uses my software, and 2 of these vile modern scum software developers.
One of the modern scum assholes said that my code is not "up to par". I asked him for specifics but he was unable to provide any. When I insisted on an answer he said it's not to up to par because I don't do "Code Review". This sums modern scums' value system: Whether a thing is good depends on if modern scum approve of it.
The other modern scum made some stupid speculation that the way my software is written will lead to data getting corrupted. Safety is #1 scare tactic that evil people use to manipulate stupid people. This second modern scum is highly intelligent so I have no doubt that he believes none of the bullshit that he spewed. The purpose of expressing his speculation was to manipulate the department head who is ignorant of these things. I have interacted with this second modern scum before and he is pure evil: manipulative and deceptive. He approaches you with a friendly attitude and a smile on his face, so that you feel comfortable sharing information with him, and next thing you know he is on the phone with your boss using the information he got out of you against you. He also at one point sent me messages trying to make me feel guilty for working on my software when when he was working on something with similar goals, and gaslighted me saying that I had agreed to stop working on my software, even though I hadn't. A soulless snake.
Afterwards I spoke with the scientist and he told me it is hopeless to try to change this department head's mind unless you are high enough status. He knows the department head well and hates him. He told me the department head is a communist. He said the department head is someone who believes all resources should be invested into only one approach. The scientist told me he knows it is bad to only have one approach because when conducting scientific experiments, it sometimes happens that plan A looks like it is a clearly superior way to conduct the experiment than plan B, and it is not until you actually try out plan A that you realize that plan A is a bad idea. He said that for example everyone thinks communism is a good idea when they first finish reading the Communist Manifesto, and it is not until communism is tested that it is apparent that it is bad.
The worst part about all this is not a case of their software surpassing mine and making mine unnecessary. My software is easier to use than theirs, is more flexible, less confusing, and easier to maintain (I have contributed to their software and it was a confusing mess of Model-View-Controller). Their software is still in an experimental stage, no one uses it as seriously as this team of scientists uses mine, and it's still lacking in many useful capabilities that mine has. The department head just shut down my software on the speculation that their software will one day be better.
