However, illegal immigration (by new arrival) is near an all time low.

  1. That's not a counterargument.

  2. Even if it were, I'm not from the US so it's not a valid counterargument to my statement.

Unemployment figures are currently low, so that cannot be a significant issue.

Does those figures include those who aren't registered?

What adverse effect is the result of the illegal immigrant population? Where are the existing problems?

If you see no negative sides to illegal immigration, does that include human trafficking and exploitation of illegal immigrants as a particularly vulnerable group for both physical labour and sex work through economical slavery?

Im not the biggest fan of h265, partially since I think I see a small loss of visual quality at the gain of a much smaller file size, partially since none of my players have built in h264 hardware decoding (h264 is the bluray standard, hardware decoding is widely supported).

Private is private. Invitation only and often cool rares or uniques. High upload ratio is a must.

Why not both?

Yes, why not both. Would you say both candidates were treated equally from the press??

I have good experience with rarbg.to, but I'm always interested in new trackers.

If anybody want to invite to private, I'm interested. Used to hang out at BaconBits with a very respectable ratio.

I agree, but what stories get sensationalised?

One very obvious example to me would be the media coverage of trump vs Clinton.

Would you say the media were pouncing on every opportunity for a sensationalised scandal for both parties or would you say the candidates were treated differently when it comes to press coverage?

This page isn't available in the EEC because they aren't willing to follow GDPR. I wonder what info they scrape from visitors and what databases they cross reference with.

and blaming them for the problems with society.

Above directly blaming immigrants for societies problem is the understanding that unchecked illegal immigration could lead to problems in society.

Much in the same way that above "orange man bad", there's actually arguments against president Trump.

Fundamentalizing and removing nuances in the debate IS the result of the though police.

I'm a fan of federation and envision a future forum form where I can host /x/[email protected] and sync and federate with others who also want to host /x/Norway.

My favouritism might very well be due to a lot of experience with federation and none with blockchain.

But in any case, I believe it is a hype for now and populated federated or blockchain based social news aggregators are at least five years out if we look at comparable projects, the fediverse, matrix, Nextcloud etc.

IIRC at least the Egyptians copied the positions of the stars in Orions belt as they were around 11.000 years ago. Such noobs, we all "know" the pyramids were built much later than that.

I'm remembering now that the reason we did it was the idea that subscriptions would be opt-out, so you could just unsubscribe from the ones you don't like, rather than subscribing to the ones you do like.

Which is what I did, and it worked as intended. But after manually filtering the third page it got tedious. That system is at end of life, as planned.

This is the default list so far:

Sounds like a good way to go about it.

I suggest including the community to allow us to share a sense of ownership of the site identity, like a post calling for suggestions, and the most upvoted suggestions not already in the admins list (and are suitable) get included in the default set?

I think the standard model is the best, there's a set of standard subs that new members are subscribed to and no auto subscribe. This encourage the culture of subs the admins promote through a curated "default" set.

Or perhaps make it an event, each month the admins add a promising sub to the default list etc.

In the beginning the explanation for auto subscribe was to encourage niche subs AFAIK, but that feature is maintained by hot and new /all.

Opt in auto sub. 👍

How about an "auto subscribe to new subs" - toggle?

When visiting the UK I've had the "porn" filter stop all kinds of things unrelated to porn. Top kek was blocking several ww2 era weapons articles, probably for being gun porn.
