Guyana is almost entirely at sea level as are most of the worlds cities. If sea levels were actually rising cities would've been evacuated decades ago. Further, the hoax of global warming or the progression of climate change isn't much of a concern, considering the Venezuelan's are about to take half of Guyana back and the British are in no condition to provide them any real support to deter it.

A scientific fact is not a scan. First I've seen the term, 'greenmailing'. Green energy can be very profitable and create jobs. And Guyana's government can easily state that they are not in a position currently to avoid taking bribes from Big Oil for the exploitation of their resources, like so many other countries. That's a scam.

By saying they pollute they must pay, but Guyana has a forest to counter the carbon.

That's not a reason to put sea life in danger for no reason other than greed.

What?

Climate change is obviously not a hoax.

The Guyana President didn't dismantle anything. He obviously attacks the intervewer with whataboutist bullshit, when he could have given an easy answer to an easy question. He's remarkably defensive because he doesn't understand how easy it is to answer the question. He also knows Guyana is incredibly corrupt and will do whatever it wants with its resources. (Guyana ranks 87 out of 180 countries in the Corruption Perceptions Index.) Various countries aren't working on climate change goals, especially those that have endemic corruption. The President can note simply that climate change goals aren't currently a priority for Guyana and leave it at that.

=== "CLIMATE CHANGE" (erst. "GLOBAL WARMING") DEBOONK ===

"97% of scientists agree on man-made climate change":

  • claim derived from ~12,000 papers on "climate change"
  • 7,930 had no position on the subject
  • 3,896 claimed humans contribute to "climate change" (extend of "contribution" n/a)
  • 78 said humans did not contribute to "climate change"
  • 40 were inconclusive
  • the total (7,930 + 78) 8,008 papers which did not explicitly support the narrative, were disregarded
  • ∴ 12,000 - 8,008 = 3,992 -> 3,896 ÷ 3,992 (100) = "97%"

"CO2 causes climate change":

  • CO2 as a component of total Earth atmosphere: 0.04% (400ppm)
  • total human contribution to the atmospheric CO2 since the Industrial Revolution: 3%
  • human contribution to CO2 increase as a component to total atmospheric gas: 0.0012% (i.e., 3% of 4%)
  • Conclusion: For "man-made climate change" to be believed, one must accept that a change of 0.0012% in a carbon dioxide, over the span of 150+ years, makes significant change to the Earth's atmosphere.

Potatoes; Not the answer you wanted:

Protein quality: Potatoes have a low protein content (1–1.5% of fresh weight), but the quality of potato protein is very good. The biological value of potato protein is between 90 and 100, which is higher than that of soybeans (84) and legumes (73).

Legumes contain high amounts of lectins. Peanuts are legumes.

  • Digestive Issues: Active legume lectins can bind to the cells lining the digestive tract, potentially disrupting the breakdown and absorption of nutrients. This interference with normal digestive processes may result in bloating, gas, stomach upset, and diarrhea.

  • Mineral Absorption Interference: Legume lectins have been found to interfere with the absorption of essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, and zinc. This interference can prevent the body from effectively utilizing these important nutrients.

  • Autoimmune Response: Prolonged exposure to lectins that bind to cells for extended periods may trigger an autoimmune response in some individuals. This immune system reaction could potentially contribute to inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes.

  • Malnutrition Risk: In cases where legume lectins hinder the absorption of vital nutrients like minerals or disrupt normal digestion, there is a risk of malnutrition over time if these effects are not addressed or compensated for through dietary adjustments.

  • Gastrointestinal Discomfort: Consumption of high levels of active legume lectins, especially from raw or undercooked legumes, can cause gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

  • Inflammatory Conditions: While not conclusively proven in scientific studies yet, some theories suggest that lectins may play a role in promoting inflammation within the body, potentially contributing to chronic inflammatory conditions.

This shit is dangerous. I don't think people deserve to be made fun of because of their size, I get that, but to try and normalize being size 16 and beyond is bat shit crazy. There are so, so many negatives and zero positives. To have a convention where everyone gets together and they tell each other how great they are, how this it's natural and is just they way they are...nothing about this is sane. Medical professionals should be outraged.

The population was never this big in the past. Look at photos from people in the 60s and 70s. Everyone was a normal healthy weight and obesity was an exception. I think a lot of this comes from the crap they allow in the food in North America. The FDA is totally captured/corrupt. That whole business with Aspartame is all I need to know about them to see they are so full of shit. The paper they write their findings on has more value in it then the words themselves. The people running it should get jail time.

I'm not putting all the blame on the FDA though. People are their own worst problem. There is a complete lack of will power and accountability. I'm big into fitness and have seen many a person lose the weight. Anyone and everyone who puts forth a solid effort can do it. It's a matter of self control and determination.

[–]thehomelessromantic 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Legumes are an excellent source of plant-based protein for several reasons:

Legumes are high in protein. A single cup of cooked beans, lentils, or peas contains around 15 grams of protein[2], which is nearly a quarter of the daily protein requirement for an average adult. This makes legumes one of the most protein-dense plant foods.

Legumes contain all the essential amino acids. While they are considered "incomplete" proteins because they lack sufficient amounts of certain amino acids like methionine and cystine, this can be easily remedied by combining legumes with other incomplete proteins like grains[1]. This complementary pairing creates a complete protein profile.

Legumes are a sustainable protein source. When legume plants die, the nitrogen in their amino acids is released back into the soil, serving as a natural fertilizer for future crops[5]. This makes legumes an environmentally-friendly protein compared to animal-based sources.

Legumes provide additional health benefits. Beyond just protein, legumes are rich in fiber, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals[2][3][4]. Studies show that regularly consuming legumes can help lower cholesterol, control blood sugar, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

In summary, legumes are an optimal plant-based protein due to their high protein content, complete amino acid profile when combined with other foods, sustainability, and additional nutritional benefits[1][2][3][4][5].

I recommend finding an active Discord server or other community and helping others build their projects while absorbing advice from more experienced people. Then you can also do the same or similar projects. This list won't last you very long.

I go to costco and buy 6 lbs of ground beef for $25, or they have cheap roasts for a little more.

I haven't taken protein powder in a while but that used to be my way to be super cheap on protein.

Chicken legs and thighs are an option too.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Cancer is caused by anything that destroys cells, bacteria, viruses, chemicals, etc. when healthy cells are destroyed your body makes new ones using DNA and the more it has to do this the more the process fucks up with mutations because radiation particles flying through hit the dna molecules and knock some off, so your body forms tumors instead of healthy new cells. This is why we all die eventually of old age too. Cell replication breaks down. Scientists have to know this, they must just do "breakthrough studies" like this so they have something new to publish.
