I get what you're saying, but no. It really does not make the extreme opposite side look any better and if our response to being called hateful is to actually turn to go fall in line with true hatefulness? That's us, settling into the boxes they're trying to shove us into in order to invalidate our points.

I know you all want to celebrate this but the actions described here are horrid. I'd be horrified if someone told me they did this to their child, especially since it seems that part of the issue for her was "emo-goth vampirism" as an aesthetic choice. Nowhere does she say she tried to help her child with the root issues that led to feeling dysphoric. Maybe it's my bleeding leftist heart or having been raised by a mother who understood only obedience like this one, but I'm sure all this kid is learning is what to tell her therapist later on in life.

This sort of behavior also ties perfectly into the running narrative that any parent against their transition is pure evil and just wants to control them.

Think about what’s really preventing you from engaging with certain people: is it a lack of experience? Not knowing how something works? Internalised transphobia? Trauma?

It's the dick and the not very subtle behavior of someone who views me as a goal and not an actual date.

This is really all you need to look at to see their entire thought process: Sexuality is no longer the physical, it's some moral thing in their hearts, and of course to Exclude others from that is morally wrong. Of Course us mean gays are just as bad as the mean straights, discriminating against people for their body parts. Of Course liking someone means you'd also fuck them, and if you don't like a trans person then you're bigoted against All trans people!
