Just get your perverted little mind out of other people's bedrooms and you'll get on fine.

If gayness in particular offends you, you're probably unconsciously suppressing gay feelings. That's the usual cause.

If you had just stayed in your house it wouldn't have been a problem. But now you're pushing your gay bullshit into mine. LGBT groups in my kids roblox game? Gay crap in nearly every vector of entertainment? The bible was wise beyond our understanding.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

No one is pushing gay sex on you, mate.

I'm just getting from your homophobia that if you try it you'll find something out about yourself that people should not go through their while lives without knowing.

The bible was wise beyond our understanding.

Do you follow all that old testament stuff like not wearing clothes of cloth made of two kinds of material, and making a parapet on your roof?

Because here's a complete list of everything Jesus said about homosexuality:

...

...

...

(crickets)

...

...

...

.... So your views on it are entirely your own.

You've never even opened a bible. God hates fags.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (15 children)

You've never even opened a bible.

I see you're avoiding the question. I guess you don't know your bible.

The question was, are you following the old testament law when you say "god hates fags" and therefore you take equal care of the other old testament laws?

Do you make sure that you're not wearing garments made out of two kinds of material?

And do you make sure that your roof has a parapet?

Or did you think that Jesus said something against fags, and you're just ignorant of your own hate-filled, slavery endorsing bible?

FYI, I've opened a bible many times. Reading the bible is the leading cause of atheism amongst Christians. They should all do it.

How many sins in the bible does it command its adherents to execute the sinner? There aren't many, but homosexuality is one of them. It does not condemn the other rules in such a strict manner. In fact, had you read the bible, you'd know Jesus overruled many of the old testament rules, such as eating shellfish. Not so with homosexuality. You'd know this if you didn't learn everything about christianity from reddit.

I'm guessing you're referring to Leviticus 20:13...which at most forbids cumming into a man's anus, and quite likely is only forbidding adultery with a married man.

If I give you a word-for-word translation you'll see it says something very different from what you know.

וְאִישׁ: and a man

אֲשֶׁר: who

יִשְׁכַּב: will lie

אֶת־: with

זָכָר: a male

מִשְׁכְּבֵי: the lyings of

אִשָּׁה: a woman

That last part is radically different from what I see printed in every Bible. This isn't just me either, Jews know this too. The churches deliberately changed it to what they want it to say. Even the interlinear straight up lies about מִשְׁכְּבֵי. This isn't even the only place they do this. Pretty much any time there's a potential conflict with the mainstream doctrine, you will find a "minor adjustment" in nearly every translation.

How many sins in the bible does it command its adherents to execute the sinner?

I don't know. About 30?

at least:

  1. blasphemy
  2. violating the Sabbath
  3. refusing to accept a court's ruling
  4. cursing one's parents
  5. rebellion against parents
  6. approaching the tabernacle whenever it is to move, while not being a Levite
  7. adultery
  8. homicide (excluding negligent homicide)
  9. to strike/attack/smite one's parents
  10. kidnapping
  11. witchcraft and divination
  12. bestiality
  13. worshiping other gods
  14. child sacrifice
  15. incest (various kinds, with differences for men and women)
  16. male homosexual intercourse
  17. harlotry while being the daughter of a priest
  18. coming near to the priesthood while being an outsider
  19. promoting the worship of other gods
  20. living a town that worships other gods
  21. maliciously giving false testimony accusing another person of having committed a capital offence
  22. not being provably a virgin, while still in your fathers house
  23. intercourse with an engaged/betrothed virgin girl
  24. intercourse as an engaged/betrothed virgin girl, and not crying out for help
  25. owning an ox that kills someone, if that ox has gored people in the past

There aren't many

How big a fucking list do you need to call it "many"? You haven't read the bible, have you?

In fact, had you read the bible, you'd know Jesus overruled many of the old testament rules, such as eating shellfish

You are correct. I don't know that part where Jesus talks about shellfish. Please cite me the book and verse.

You'd know this if you didn't learn everything about christianity from reddit.

Oh, the irony.

[–]Gaslov 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Wrong. Try again. Only a handful of those are people commanded to execute the sinner. The others are stories on just what happened.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Oh really? Which ones are stories of what happened? And where did Jesus talk about shellfish?

[–]Gaslov 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

The US is dying and you faggots are gonna burn. No empire turns their back on God and lives long.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

This is all fake crap. The priests and scribes wrote it during the Babylonian exile and lied and told everyone it was authentic. Then it was integrated in their religious books, along with even just their old civil laws and customs.

Jeremiah's book is older than the books of "Moses", and it even complains about this in chapters 7-8. The forgery it would've been referring to is the book we now call Deuteronomy. The others came even later. Unfortunately most translations "aid" the reader by inserting one extra word in chapter 7 to cover up the fact that it claims all commandments regarding sacrifices are fake, because that would mean that one of the church's favorite doctrines, inerrancy, is false.

Nevertheless, if you're going to be a biblical fundamentalist, then these are some of the crimes for which the bible says the penalty should be death.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It's impossible to be a biblical fundamentalist because of all the contradictions.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Reading it was probably also the leading cause of Christianity amongst Pharisees.

No, that is not entirely true.

Could you say the same thing about a typical lesbian? Could you say to her that if a man's penis in general offends you maybe you are suppressing feelings that she has for a man's penis?

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

No, that is not entirely true.

What's true is homophobia is associated with homosexual arousal. Psychologically is makes sense. There's no reason to be upset by what other people are doing in the bedroom of their own home. But if you feel threatened by your own responses, then you get the dissonance that expresses as intolerance.

Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal?

Could you say the same thing about a typical lesbian? Could you say to her that if a man's penis in general offends you maybe you are suppressing feelings that she has for a man's penis?

A typical lesbian isn't homophobic.
