Beause there are a dozen reddit clones. Also, you're comparing this place to reddit, of course it's going to be comparatively dead.

Frankly, the reddit clones don't really grow organically because they tend to be a reaction to something the mothership did. Think about it. Reddit started out as any website does, but slowly grew new subs like branches on a tree. Mods could be considered overzealous gardners in this scenario.

Most of the clones were based around a single banned sub and people are just tacking on the same reddit subs they had but without the userbase to support them.

But then you have T_D at .win

I'd have to write a book.

Of course they didn't delete that comment. It toes the reddit party line.

I honestly don't think anyone should be censored. The only way to test an idea is to allow anyone to attack it. If the idea is still standing afterwards, then it's probably a good one.

I was there from 2005 - 2015. I left after they went full leftard censorship in 2015.

Sometimes look in at links to subs like GTA 5, and other games. I'm not going to go to reddit, but am not averse to clicking on the occasional link to something interesting.

As I remember, the reddit admins removed and replaced the mods with their own picks at one point.

The 'well paid' part sounds questionable, but I'm sure there's tons of money going into internet shilling, from both private and government sources.

I am shadow banned in every sub on it

Got some examples of posts you made that were shadow banned? Plenty of subs there that don't ban people.

I found out about this site when people were talking about how SuperStraight was gonna get banned. There were 17k towards the end and people were talking about coming here and one other Reddit clone.. ruqqus I think or something like that. The sad part is that censorship works in a way. The SuperStraight saiddit has pretty much died. I’m on LGB drop the T which is still going but it’s been at around 2k members ever since I joined. You need the network effect to have a robust platform. Tell people to use the site if you enjoy using it. Tell the creators to develop an app to make using it easier for more people. Post things so we have stuff to interact with.

My only objection is that I've found on virtually every clone censorship is still a problem. Powermods are still a problem. Elitist admins and their dickriders are still a problem. Brigading and doxxing are still problems.

It's just the nature of humanity I guess? Even the most mundane and marginal amount of power turns certain types of people into fucking monsters.

I find a good rule of thumb is that you should NEVER give power to someone who asks for it. Anyone asking for it wants to abuse it.
