The only one with anything to gain in the destruction of Nord Stream is the US. It's to bring recalcitrant European vassals more firmly under the thumb of the US and secure a larger market share for US natural gas in Europe. Germany should close US bases on their territory. Destruction of Nord Stream was an extreme act of aggression.

Germany should close US bases on their territory.

Lol you seem to think Germany is a sovereign nation that can make its own decisions on this manner. That the US soldiers are there merely at the behest of the German people.

How many German military bases are there in the United States? How many foreign military bases in the US?

That is a war crime. Biden and his people belong in prison.

Nord Streams was never built to increase gas transmission capacity to Europe but to bypass overland pipes flowing through Ukraine.

If and if Russians manage to annex Ukraine fully then Nord Stream will become redundant since the overland pipes can supply all Russian gas needed through newly annexed Ukraine.

So are you saying the C.I.A and the current administration wants Russia to annex the Ukraine provinces?

Yes, the whole proposed motivation seem fictitious in light of WW2 and the history of why the pipes were built.

We are left to wonder if the real reason was the US intentions to hobble our own European allies or to destroy the oil and gas industry. Neither seemed successful and the article's proposed motivation seemed to fail as well. The only result was further exasperating world economic depression in the short run and killing more due to poverty and shortages in the long run.

why can't it be as simple as we want to sell Europe gas?

[–]SoCo 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Our oil isn't very useful to Europe, due to the kind of oil it is. We mostly sell to South America. Europe's infrastructure and refineries are geared towards Russia's oil.

In my long term speculative opinion, oil is a major resource and will never cease being so, even if we go all alternative energy. It may be a thousand, two thousand, or even 10 thousand years down the road, but the next ice age is due and the human race will need every drop of oil to survive it. Tricking countries into giving up their control of oil now, is just long-game survival of the fittest.

Because why kill one bird with a stone when you can kill two, three?

They get to sell gas to Europe, AND make Europe dependent on good relations with the USA, AND create more poverty in the West.

The real story here is that a reporter actually did some real reporting instead of the usual tongue washing of his master's ballsack.

Z simps complain about clown world, but when a clown like Hersh starts saying Z things, suddenly he's a credible source and we have to ignore the makeup, red nose and clown shoes

His source on this is literally - uh trust me bro I saw it on a qanon board like saidit

I agree with you on this. After reading the whole article there is zero evidence presented. It's all unnamed sources and hearsay.

If Hersh's story is true, how would you have handled its dissemination? Because I'm wagering that you won't have a clue. Hersh's article had lots of details which can only be known if Hersh spent a lot of time+energy in fabricating it or he truly was contacted by an inside informant.

Of course. And I'm all for it. We're in a proxy war, and this helps us win it. China's next, but they're a bit stronger so subtler methods must be used.
