He pulled the trigger.

Let's not start muddying the waters with maybes like he wants.

He murdered a woman.

Someone else loaded the gun so that the woman would be murdered.

You can't prove motive for Baldwin.

Where's the evidence of that?

You have no idea if that is true.

The evidence is that the gun was not prepared properly. That's reckless endangerment with the potential for murder. If there was the potential for murder, the preparation of the gun is evidence of the potential for murder. Even if murder was not intended for a specific person, or if thelive round was in the chamber by accident, the gun was prepared - for whatever reason - for the murder of someone.

Again, where is the evidence the gun was not prepared properly?

You reading something put out by an actor's publicity team is not evidence.

where is the evidence the gun was not prepared properly?

It had a live round in it.

(Please don't bother me with questions like this.)

Why did it have anything in it? Why did he even point it directly at her and pull the trigger? He's a killer. He took that gun, pointed it directly at that woman, and pulled the trigger.

Alexander Rae Baldwin III is the kind of person who wants to take everyone else right to have guns, but still be able to shoot and kill women himself. He's an actor. Don't believe his tears and claims of regret. He's playing a role.

So….you’re saying the ball sack eye idly is makeup???? That inside that ugly shell there’s a beautiful soul about to come shooting out?

Heh. He's the real victim here.

    You have no evidence.

There was absolutely no motivation for him to want to murder her.

Movie sets manage their guns in highly restrictive ways, putting only blanks in them.

    You have no evidence.

She is dead. It's true that all I have is pixels on a screen as 'evidence', as I've neither heard nor seen a single thing about this Alexander Rae Baldwin III character in real life.

    just an accident

but who did mess with that gun

    What a coward lol

edit: the more I think about this the more it seems like the absolute worst possible defense in this situation. By simply claiming he didn't pull the trigger he implicitly agrees that he was pointing the gun at someone. By saying "of course I'd never point it at someone and pull the trigger" he weakens any claim that he wasn't properly briefed in firearm safety, because he clearly understands that he should be treating even what he believes is a prop gun as if its a real gun and not point it at anything he wouldn't want to shoot. By claiming he didn't pull the trigger he's giving the prosecution a nice easy target to destroy with an expert witness that can say whether or not the gun was physically capable of malfunctioning in that way. And again on top of all of that it makes him look like a complete coward and liar that refuses to take responsibility for his role in the accident.

inb4 he tries to spin this as guns bad and dangerous and need to be banned. He definitely pulled the trigger.

What a clown. Trump should play him in the movie, and expose him for the piece of shit he is.

Triggers don’t pull themselves. Maybe it was a hare-trigger and he gently brushed it with his knuckle hair while he was pointing it at a person—this is more believable than “I didn’t touch the trigger.”

Wasn't there a guy who had a 24/7 webcam on a loaded handgun on a table, and then offered a reward if anyone saw this gun discharge by itself?

The gun must have been made by the same company that made the SUV that autonomously drove through that parade.

    [–]HiddenFox 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Sorry Alec....you pulled the trigger! The gun was in your hand! If you didn't pull the trigger and you didn't aim the gun at a person then how did the gun go of and how did the bullet travel in the direction of the girl?

That's two separate actions. Pulling the trigger and pointing the gun and your saying you did neither?

I feel bad for Alec, I really do but he has to take responsibility.

    [–]jet199 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

    Why feel bad for him?

    [–]HiddenFox 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I don't care for Alec Baldwin but to be responsible for the death of that women... he may be a prick, he may be smug and arrogant but I don't wish this upon him.

    [–]jet199 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I really don't think he's the victim in this situation.

He even if you believe it was an accident he was the producer, the culture and safety on set is his responsibility.

Would you feel sorry for the boss of a company who removed the fire escapes to save money then caused a woman to burn alive in one of his buildings?

    [–]HiddenFox 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I agree with you more or less. Based on what I've read, I think he should see jail time. Not probation or house arrest or some BS like that but real time in jail. He is no victim but at the end of the day I don't think he ever thought or wanted someone to die. And I'm sure the guilt and fallout from this will hurt more then any punishment a judge hands down.
