The WEF imo isn't a force onto itself but merely a meeting place for elites. The real power structure imo is the Jewish world network and other elite factions are subordinated to their interests.

As far as I can see, destroying the US economy does not serve Jewish interests in the least because American military power guarantees their power and the petrodollar is the bedrock of Jewish financial power throughout the world.

It is a perplexing move, and it doesn't seem to make sense. The Globalists are acting like they have total consensus, which they don't. China and Russia are not onboard with their plans. Without American military might, the Globalists have no hitman to keep the other nations in line.

Thats one of several reasons the great reset may end up failing. The Elites may be able to implement their disgusting plans in the West, but they can't force them on China, Russia, or other 'rogue states.' Although with that said, their model for society does take some cues from China: Notably the social credit score, and omnipresent surveillance.
