They considered them inferior but not "subhumans" who needed to be exterminated.

He might have started with that position in the 20's but in the late thirties the party was realizing they were going to have to govern quite a few slavic peoples. Even the 'inferior' language was softened and slavic people (that rejected communism) were lumped into the Germanic people's community. The people's community being a layer removed from full citizenship but with many of the perks of and protections of German citizenship. Wish I could recall where I read that though. If anybody has a document referencing this info please let me know because this conversation seems to come up a lot.
