Not great arguments since the countries you mention are both dependant on other nations in the EU for their prosperity and also are arguably currently in a decline that will only accelerate as they continue to be swamped with refugees from Africa and central Asia.

California as well is on the decline, but it's a special case because of its stark wealth disparity and being a center of global industry and headquarters of many massive corporations. In short, California won't fail until the US does and all associated enterprises jump ship.
