Look, I'm gonna wrap this since I don't have time for a complete historical survey or to translate a book written in Russian. Just remember we have the advantage of historical perspective and that folks were living in an extremely oppressive society under the monarchy. The ideas of the Bolsheviks were just that, new ideas proposed as an alternative to ultra rich assholes ruling over them. Sure, it failed, but it's easy to judge from our perspective on it modern age without experiencing what they were experiencing.
