Was Karl Liebknecht Jewish or not?

I've seen claims that this guy was Jewish all over other forums yet found no evidence of such. Is there any evidence he was?

I think he was, he looks very Jewish and was in cahoots with the Jewess Rosa Luxemborg. Almost 50% of the communist leadership in Weimar Germany was Jewish. Its highly likely that he's one of them. He's the one that lost Germany for the communists.

Luxemborg actually cautioned against an uprising but Karl foolish began an insurgency in Berlin. The Prussian aristocracy still controlled the German army and they in conjunction with the Social Democrat chancellor organized the Friekorps and crushed them.

They beat this asshole within an inch of his life before putting a bullet in his head and dumping in a ditch.

Probably not, his father was not Jewish nor is there anything to indicate his mother or either of his wives appeared to have been Jewish (they all had gentile maiden names AFAIK). But him and Clara Zetkin were the exception, the other Spartacists were Jewish and Clara was married to a Jew.

There's two sources which are unaffiliated to nationalism that claim he is Jewish, this one and this one but neither back it up.

There seems to be a meme of claiming anyone who has a German/Polish-sounding name is Jewish.
