My childhood was pretty scarring

Aaaaand there we go. Every time.

I think really the issue is these guys childhoods are too easy, spoiled too much. So they join the oppression olympics for attention.

Wouldn't surprise me. Some of them also really seem to want that dramatic blow-up with their family. I'm not convinced a few of them don't manufacture drama just so they can say their family hates them for being trans.

Yeah they want to make daddy mad. Which is common for teens, like growing hair long during the Beatles. Too bad this trans trend is way worse.

Thank goodness that when I was an edgy teenager, transvestites were basically unheard of. I had never met one nor had I heard of one until I was ~22 or so. There was one gay guy in my highschool and rumours about another one. I cant imagine being a teenager and rebelling by making permanent damage to my sexual organs.... the worst part is I dont think Id be 100% immune to their propaganda given the stupid stuff I believed in back in '08 and '09.

I remember as a teen wondering whet was up with rock stars like jagger, Bowie, Robert Smith. Looking back trans stuff was predictable and inevitable. And there's been a lot of men living as women they history like tennis players. It's like gay people, always existed, and they want to be out of the closet so fund this movement. The rich get into weird decadent shit, fetishes, they have to make it edgier and edgier to get off.

A normal, pastoral, traditional life is too boring for them. And they always want children to abuse

I think that's common, but childhood sexual abuse is another common factor.

I do think that when you don't have any real problems though you tend to overexaggerate the problems you do have. I read a lot of these experiences and it's shitty complaints like "My parents made me go to church".

No shit I bet they made you do homework and eat your vegetables as well. So abusive.

Yeah I think lack of direction more than anything is what draws these people to trooning out. If all you want to do all day is jerk off online then why not adopt an identity which centers that activity.

Alienation. A long time problem and I have it myself. It can confuse people, we all want meaning and belonging and love. But how can we get it? Especially in this weird world.

There's a tremendous mental burden to overcome to break out of the established patterns, and often it's difficult to quantify the time and effort it takes to do so. Combine that with a universal public effort to push people back into those patterns (and even justify them as "self-care" or fitting in or whatever) means that the only people who break out are those who commit a tremendous mental effort to an incredibly unpopular idea without prior direction or guidance and somehow persist at it until it works.

My dad gave me good guidance, how to work hard and struggle thru hard times. I don't always live totally like that, but I'd be screwed if I didn't have that guidance as a kid. Nothing else gives that kind of guidance, not online or the media anyway. Certain self help people will give that advice I guess.

My parents did nothing for me on that front. They're both huge narcissists still. I had to break out of that mindset and to this day talking to them is difficult because of how they see and relate to the world.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

One thing about my dad too was he was narcissistic and lazy, he had made some money before but basically retired in his 40s and sometimes his hard work advice went in one year and out the other when I'd see him laying on the couch all the time. That being said it could have been worse with no dad at all, my mom gave me 100% bad advice all the time.

IT SHOULD BE LEGAL TO RAPE OR KIDNAP OR MURDER YOUR PARENTS.

THAT WOULD KEEP THEM IN LINE MORE.

Wish you'd get raped

You're a net negative on humanity

I think it's like with bridezillas: either they have actual deprivation in their past they haven't dealt with, or they've princesses who've never been told "no" and are literally Crying and Shaking and Poopenfarten because they saw a "free parking" sign or whatever; there's no middle valley between these two peaks

Daddy issues. Either daddy wasn't around or didn't care about them so they want to do something to make him proud. Or he was a great dad and they want to disappoint them.

For guys going trans often it's a left wing mom brainwashing them since birth.

Here is one...The world does not revolve around your mental issues...Kindly fuck off.

[–]LyingSpirit472 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I'd slightly change that problem to a greater one: The world does not revolve around that person.

The rise of non-binary people after everyone accepted transgender people with some rights, and from there xenogenders after people shrugged and accepted non-binary people, makes it painfully clear this is less mental illness and more people who truly believe they are the main character, so much so that they truly believe the entirety of existence cannot put them into the most basic label possible and the world needs to make an entirely new label for that person, personally.

A language model lacks the ability to experience emotions. Humans, on the other hand, have complex emotional lives. This fundamental difference makes it difficult to fully understand the nuances of human emotions.

The idea that non-binary and xenogender identities stem from a sense of self-importance rather than genuine experiences invalidates the struggles of individuals who identify outside of traditional gender categories.

[–]NastyWetSmear 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The opening line, accidentally no doubt, contains the main crux of the problem:

"in the modern world, I Fail to see any utility in it."

From the first time a boy picks up a stick and pretends to be a warrior to the birthing wards where a woman is going into labour, this person's failure will be screaming all around them, constantly tugging at them with a genetic rope so powerful that the act of pulling the opposite direction often leaves them depressed, angry, bitter and exhausted, cursing the world and blaming everyone for, in some way, trying to force them into something that they feel an instinctive compulsion towards.

That's not to say that some people don't always feel every single drive their gender typically does, but even most of those people are smart enough to notice that they don't feel a natural pull towards this or that activity. No matter if their grateful or dismayed by it, they know it.

When nobody from either side wants to touch you with a ten foot pole, I guess it's easier to blame the entire concept of gender rather than taking a hard look at your rotten personality.

[–]LtGreenCo 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The issue is that "gender abolition" frequently gets used as a "gotcha" to discredit trans people. "Shouldn't you be fighting to abolish gender, instead of reinforcing it by transitioning huehuehuehue I'm so smart".

"Huehuehue I'm so smart" is not a counterargument. But don't even bother because there is no counterargument. If you dismiss the concept of gender you must by definition also dismiss the concept of transgender.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What is gender abolition? Getting rid of the stupid concept of social "gender" or whatnot? You'll probably find I agree. Though they'd criticize me for being a sex essentialist at that point.

"We need more female CEO"

Why? How does having a uterus have any bearing on your capability for the job?

I don't think you can play the game both way. Similarly if we abolish the concept of gender than being "trans-gender" is also pretty much meaningless. What you want to use the girls room because you wear a dress now? Um sorry "girl" is an abolished gender, that there is the restroom for females. Aka, people who don't have a penis.

[–]alladd 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They want to be handed the superficial trappings of power but not the actual power. That would involve taking for themselves, rather than being given it. The whole point is to appear in the same level of authority and competency as men, without having to actually be as competent. Notice that Congress has more women in it than ever at a time where it is perceived as less cooperative and more juvenile than ever, yet the business world - which is by and far dominated by men - is functioning at an all time efficiency high. Women perpetuate this without realizing it because they're socialized from birth as a subservient class by their own idiot moms.

Actual successful women exist in a vacuum because other women despise, envy, and rebuke them for challenging women to have to compete on the level of men.
