Used to hang out on yoyogames.com, was a website exclusive for uploading and playing games made with the gamemaker engine (powerful engine btw undertale was made in it). Was fun making small indie games and uploading them, playing other people's, there was an awesome community around it. Started getting shittier after the 2010s and eventually just became a corporate page to sell their product, they deleted every old game though there are archives

You know what's retarded? Since Google/reddit/YouTube etc are private companies, they can censor speech as much as they want, because people are using their platforms under their rules. The thing is most people nowadays are more loyal to their online communities than their own government (I'm not kidding), so as soon as you step outside into the real world, you're "free", but online spaces are being run by dictators. It's beginning to bleed into real life, hence all this wokeness in society. What strange times we live in. To be honest the internet terrifies me.

[–]thethrowaway 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I know nothing about data compression so I'm probably wrong, but aren't all files just a single extremely long string of 1s and 0s? That means you can convert data into (admittedly massive) base 10 numbers and use that to shrink them massively. Like, find the nearest prime or square and then store instructions to jump to that number then add/subtract an exact number to get to the original/uncompressed number

EDIT I actually read the article. Lossless 200:1 compression done on the fly? Seriously? At least this'll delay brain chipping for a while longer

I'm one of those boyfriends. It was tragic, man. Obviously a lot more complex than this, but in about 1.5 years I watched her go from the beautiful woman I had once loved, to deep into the trans rabbithole, to boobs gone, many hormone injections, changed name, all of it. It's actually how I first developed my views on trans stuff, cause before 2020 it was basically unheard of, I got into trans spaces to learn what having a trans partner is like, and the trans community scared me FAR FAR away and I ended up on r/TiA.

I remember the day she was going in for surgery, I wished so badly I could've done something, kept imagining me bursting into the hospital and stopping her, but obviously it was just fantasy. I stayed friends with her through it all for a bunch of reasons, still chat with her sometimes. She's now dating a very overweight guy, got into weed, and has multiple personalities (at least 10). It's absolutely insane to me that society sees her as "better off" than she was before.

Idk man. Rant over, I think I was rambling there a bit too much. I don't believe in true love or soul mates, so I try not to stay hung up on her. It'd be cool to be able to talk to a bunch of guys who's girlfriends ended up transing and hear their stories too.

Lately I've been realizing how insecure the average person is, at least online and in such social circles. It's crazy to me that people can't form their own opinions and need to follow what others say, to the point of their entire self identity crumbling because of what one person said.

I think that's the issue right there, weak mindedness. I don't think anybody on this planet could say anything which would ever make me reconsider my identity, or my core beliefs. And I think the transgender cult plays pretty heavily into people being unstable and low esteem.

Sadly a lot of people have made up their minds already and are very brainwashed. A VERY lengthy discussion might help. I found out about trans stuff in 2020, that was the first time I took more than a passing glance at the commity (my ex became trans and still wanted to date so I looked into it hard to decide if I could do it)

It was when I started taking a deeper look at their beliefs and everything that turned me away from the community and made me critical of them. So maybe the best medicine against the trans community is looking deeper at itself. But I dont know. A lot of these people have a tight knit friend group full of trans people and TRAs so deciding they are against it would destroy their lives.

Tldr if you find out let me know

At the time I wouldve said I met my unicorn, but shes no longer worth dating. We almost got married but she became trans and I couldnt deal with that so we split up. Were still friends but thats about it. Shes a bit of a mental case now, between the trans stuff and now multiple personalities and unstable in general. Its really sad because the few times I do see her lately, we still have that spark and we click like old times. Shes just not somebody I can be with anymore.

Anyway I dont really buy into "the perfect woman" because nobody is going to be perfect and putting her on a pedestal is going to set you up for failure. The "perfect woman" for me would be somebody who can have a mature conversation, put effort into the relationship and take care of herself.

So, I guess 2. I had my unicorn but we are no longer in a position to date.

You notice how she was perfectly normal on the phone?

I think this is a great example of working yourself up over nothing. I learned at a pretty young age that nobody cares if you slip up or take a few seconds to think. Thats normal human interaction. Literally all she is doing here is working herself up over nothing (assuming this is real, I know real people that do this so).

Also, it is a self fulfilling prophecy. She could learn to be normal if she just didnt let herself act all weird, but instead shes rewarding her anxious behaviour. I find that socially anxious people end up acting weird to try to avoid social situations, which ironically ends up getting them into awkward social situations more often. Totally self fulfilling. Break the cycle.

I wish people would quit normalizing this crap. Its not healthy behaviour.

Not to autobiography-post, but I feel like one of those men at times. I also refuse to listen to Tate or any other figure trying to profit off of lonely men. Maybe my issue is different. Im tall, good looking and apparently I am charismatic, but finding a woman who actually shares my views and is "worth it" is extremely hard. I almost married my first gf, but she trooned out so I lost her. My other ex was on the opposite side and wanted to try messing around with other people, and was frustrated that I didnt support her, so bye.

Its hard to meet a woman who is worth it. My current roommate is "worth it" but she is also completely disinterested in relationships of any kind. Im starting to realize a pattern that the women who arent looking for relationships and dont care about dating, end up being the type of woman I am looking for because theyre their own genuine selves. Its a catch-22.

Anyway the loneliness aspect is leading me to a degree of alcoholism which is... not great. But Im not going to start acting like a "sigma" or buying into weird 2010-2020s mens heirarchy BS. I have great self esteem and Im confident in myself, I just cant find what Im looking for. Im almost 30 at this point.

Sorry for the blog post. Anyone else more in my shoes?

I didnt know why at first, but this image+thread really didnt sit right with me, and it wasnt until I thought on it for a while until I realized exactly WHY.

Surprisingly every top comment was saying the first paragraph is fine (complete ignorance on the topic with no opinion formed) while the second paragraph was problematic (respectfully disagreeing with trans ideology).

Literally, they consider it wrong for anyone to even THINK differently than them - no matter how polite and kind we are to trans people themselves. Simply holding a different opinion, no matter how humanely you treat them, is wrong to them. This is what scares me about trans ideology the most - you HAVE to agree with them or you are "problematic", no matter how much kindness and respect you actually show them. Complete cult behaviour. See I have heard they think this way, but up until now I hadnt seen a good example of just how this applies.

Probably the final straw for me to delete my reddit account now. Im obviously among enemies because I dare form my own opinion after years of looking into trans issues.

Yeah, I watched this gradually happen with my ex (we're still friends, were roommates til recently)

She was a super normal girl with quirks like everyone else, then we spent some time apart and she got pulled into the trans rabbit hole. Got her breasts removed (which I think was a horrible stupid idea but Im not gonna say that to her face, its her life) and went on testosterone for like a year which ruined what was once her nice singing voice.

Her new thing is multiple personality disorder - which she claims she has had all her life, but the way she has suddenly been acting completely different since getting the idea in her mind, tells me otherwise.

I moved out asap after she went down the DID rabbit hole. It was weird and annoying when she would suddenly act like a small child or communicate only in charades (yes in public too). This behaviour never happened before her friend told her she has DID

I dont like it either, its spreading quite literally like a virus where youth are exposed to it during their developmental years and become trans themselves. Entire friend groups all at once

It also bugs me how we have to take part in it. Like if theres someone obviously a girl but identifies as male, we have to go against our common sense and obvious knowledge to say "he" instead of "she". Why cant it just be socially acceptable to say "i am not a part of the trans movement so I will be calling you as I percieve you, no offense". They deny reality and spit in the face of anyone who doesnt assist them in living a life of self denial

Body dysmorphia, she was never comfortable with her chest. Its strange because before the trans stuff became mainstream, she was "okay" with it enough that it wasnt causing much of an issue.

It was only after she found out about trans stuff and started to identify as nonbinary that she became super self conscious about her chest and started being unable to shower or change without having a mental breakdown - which seemed like a huge backwards step to me. She uses the metaphor "its like noticing a pebble in your shoe, once you notice it itll bug you forever". So why push an ideology that makes young people less comfortable with their bodies and not more??

Not exactly. I have never cut anyone out of my life because of them being trans or pushing the movement too much, but I do feel discluded when one friend group I'm in talks about trans issues. Im probably the only one of the 6 of us that believes you are your biological gender and any amount of surgery and hormones will not change that. Anyway I just go quiet when the topic comes up and I think they take the hint.

Sorry I got off track, to answer your question, I was about to get engaged to a girl (I already had bought a ring, we knew each other for 7 yrs at the time) when she broke up with me out of the blue because she needed to find herself. I took it pretty rough but ultimately dated someone else and got over her. She reconnected with me ~1 year later and said she is now "nonbinary" and getting a name change and everything. Well I was dating another girl at the time and I had no idea about trans stuff so I supported my ex.

Couple months later my gf and I broke up and I started talking to my ex more, she said she wants to try again with me and I said I dont know about the trans thing and Ill have to look into that first and see if its right for me. Well the more I looked at the community the more I was horrified by what I saw. I eventually found r/tumblrinacrion and I found plenty of people who agreed with me. I told my ex I wasnt comfortable dating a trans person (she took it ok) but we can remain friends.

So while we are still good friends, I would be married to this girl with children by now if it werent for trans stuff.

They are - theyre a type of athiest that hates the church and wants to remove christianity from society. They do radical protests and put up statues of satan to anger christians under the guise of religious freedom. They dont believe in God or satan, they just took the name to cause waves

Theres also theistic satanism that believes in satan and worships him and thats completely different and less common

I am beyond frustrated that the problem was treated with surgery, drugs and a new identity rather than seeing a therapist about it. She was always uncomfortable with her maturing body (but I understand thats normal in lots of women) and she had a few traumas centered around her breasts that she never spoke to a therapist about.

As soon as she became trans, her breasts went from "i dont like these and i wont look at them in the mirror if i can help it" to "i literally have a panic attack if i have to be naked, i cant shower anymore". The trans ideology made her accept her mental illness instead of confronting it, made things significantly worse, and then solved the newly created problem with permanent surgery. That part of it scared me the most.

I am actually. Me and her (them) are very good friends still, despite it all. When the transition happened, her and I spent some time apart so that she could "find herself", and we reconciled a few months after the fact with her revealing to me that she wanted to identify as nonbinary now. I had no idea that the break we had was due to her becoming trans. I thought it was just a mental health thing, because she was in a bad place due to family issues. This was mid 2019. At the time I didn't care, I had no idea what nonbinary or trans even meant really. She wanted to date me again and wanted to live a life with me like we always used to talk about when we were younger and lived together. I told her I needed to educate myself before dating someone that was trans. I joined the subreddit r/mypartneristrans (same one as OPs post was in) and joined their discord to learn more about what being trans meant and how I could learn to be a better partner to her, but everything I learned felt cultlike and full of groomers. Their entire movement seriously rubbed me the wrong way and I felt uncomfortable learning about their beliefs that were so different from my own beliefs. Within a few months of studying the trans community and heavily browsing various trans subs like egg_irl, traaaaaans, etc, I learned enough about the movement to gain an opposing viewpoint towards it all, and I started going on r/tunblrinaction and the like because they had very sane takes on the whole thing.

I told her I didn't feel attracted to somebody who is not female, which she took surprisingly well. We've remained friends since. For a while it was weird to see the girl I once loved slowly lose her femininity and get a deeper voice, lose her breasts, cut her hair, etc, but eventually I stopped seeing her as an ex-lover and started seeing her as just a friend. At this point I have 0 romantic feelings towards her, but I still mourn the loss of what was a very promising relationship. She feels like 100% a different person than I knew those years ago. It feels like the girl I knew died. We're still good friends but I feel like I lost my chance at a young love like I always dreamed of, I wanted to get married young and have kids in my mid 20s while I was still in the prime of my youth for having healthy children. I'm getting close to 30 now and still single so that dream is gone.

Thank you for listening to my story.

FDA Quietly Adds Warning Of Serious Side Effects To Puberty Blockers by [deleted] in news

[–]thethrowaway 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Ok I can accept not conforming to gender roles. I can even accept denial of traditional masculine/feminine stereotypes. But when life changing and dangerous drugs are pushed on our youth, I draw the line.

People worry that some vaccinated kids will develop autism, but 100% of kids on puberty blockers will have their entire lives destroyed irreversably. Not to mention hormone "therapy" and surgical removal of healthy body parts. FDA should not be quiet about this. FDA should be issuing a loud warning to all questioning teens that any and all trans medical procedures are dangerous and permanent and life altering and damaging. Puberty blockers as a concept should not exist, nor should trans people.

Wrote this on reddit, whole thread of people justifying failed antidepressants by [deleted] in whatever

[–]thethrowaway 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was perscribed antidepressants when I was a teenager about 10 yrs ago. I pretended to take them in front of my parents, but would hide them under my tongue/in my cheek and then throw them in the trash or flush them down the toilet. I kept this up for years.

I was "depressed" because my dad was being an ass and micromanaging my life and bullying me relentlessly, so in retaliation I dropped out of school and refused to do anything.

A couple years later I learned to stick up for myself and stopped listening to my dad, everyone said I was doing so much better and the antidepressant pills were working a miracle. Nope, I got better on my own, without pills.

Your honest opinion on transgenders? by [deleted] in TumblrInAction

[–]thethrowaway 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

One of my best friends is trans. I was almost engaged to her, actually, before the whole trans thing started and "she" became a "they". Now shes on hormones, and got her breasts removed, and doesnt want anything to do with being a woman anymore. I explained that I dont want to date her anymore and she was.. well understanding enough. Tbh it broke my heart but that was years ago and Ive moved on and I see her purely as a friend now.

Theres a lot of different types of trans people so its hard to make a sweeping statement covering them all. I dislike a lot of them. Most others rub me the wrong way but I figure its their life (thats where Im at with my ex). A few I respect, the ones that genuinely are the 0.01% or whatever of people that actually ARE mentally ill enough that life as the opposite sex is better. But that type of trans person isnt really around much anymore.

I think most of them are hopping on the bandwagon cause its the new "thing" to do. Theyre stupid and will pay for it for the rest of their lives when the phase passes, but its not my place to judge them in the end, so I dont care. Some of them, specifically the MtFs that are pushing the limits, frighten me. They are genuine predators trying to get into womans spaces.

I hate the movement itself more than the people involved. Most are getting swept up in this new age ideology of "genders dont exist bend the rules". Its incredibly harmful and I am worried for the millions of teenagers watching entire friend groups going trans all at once.

If you ever find an alternative, let me know. I came here cause of the TiA thing too and the community is way more dead than I ever expected. Not very impressed. Sadly reddit is a powerhouse of an internet form and as long as it exists no other alternative can really thrive... and because they are abusing their power they end up censoring information as they see fit.

Gonna say something controversial here - many trans people are fairly "normal" and some of the stuff that gets (or I guess got) posted to TiA was the more extreme fringe views that dont necessarily represent the trans community as a whole. This happens in every group, where you perceive the other side as more extreme than they are.

That is why I liked it though - it called out the toxic parts of trans ideology, and the fact that THAT had enough backlash that it got banned is really telling.
