It's interesting that when you look into it all their slogans and talking points are stolen from other movements then corrupted.

So weird. They really are skinwalkers.

Yup, it's like movement Mad Libs.

They explicitly discourage any type of encouragement regarding retransitioning

Retransitioning? Is that even a thing? Are you kidding me with this shit?

Sorry but if you transitioned, and then detransitioned, and then started wondering if you should transition again, then there is obviously something fundamentally wrong with your fucking brain that no amount of transitioning will fix. Get off of Reddit and check yourself into a mental hospital ASAP.

I see this alot on YouTube and Reddit. The underlying issues that drove them to transition aren't dealt with when they de transition. Plus the lure of the supportive cult is hard to ignore especially after they've alienated everyone outside it.

I read Elliot Page's memoir recently and she talks about cutting out her dad, stepmom and apparently a lot of her friends, who had the nerve to tell her she looks 'adorable' and such. She explicitly claims she only gets her 'joy' from hanging out with her trans 'friends'. She's never getting out.

Yes but according to these brave retransitioners detransers are a cult.

Also, easily disprovable? Go to r/detrans right now and there are multiple posts with people being like "IDK, I might wanna stay on hormones for now" and the responses are all tolerant and encouraging. These people straight up lie and invent imaginary bullies.

It doesn't surprise me, should be very clear from the start that these people have issues beyond simply their chosen sex. Very deep seeded issues with identity.

Why the hormones and surgeries need to be very restricted as to who can get them and when. Otherwise if you just wanna change your pronouns all willy billy and change your wardrobe back and forth I don't really care much so long as you leave me out of it.

I think there was a guy in Holland who had operations to change gender back and forth 4 or 5 times.

Sounds familiar.

It apparently is a thing and has been for ages. I used to work with a transwoman ages ago and on one of the very few times we talked about anything trans related was me asking if this type of swapping was a thing or just made up. They said it was a thing but pretty rare and they were considered fucking weirdos by most trans people.

This was maybe 15 years ago at least.

Methinks the ladyboy doth project too much

One thing is for certain though, im glad I didn't fall into a cult trying to affirm that I was doing the right thing for myself at the time.

The fucking irony my god

"Even shit like knee surgery has a significantly high regret rate. I know a few people who’ve needed replacements and they all absolutely regret it, my mom can barely walk on that leg anymore."

So your mom shouldn't have gotten knee surgery either? WTF logic is this?

[–]Wanderingthehalls 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Knee surgery, especially replacement, requires following a strict exercise programme almost immediately after hospital discharge and for at least a year afterwards. If someone doesn't commit to that, the knee will heal badly. That's what causes more problems than the person initially had. Lots of people don't commit to that as it's hard work, that's very painful to begin with.

[–]William_World 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

with knee replacement surgery, surgery is a last resort if someone is in constant pain and things like PT and injections don't help. Then you have 1/3 chance the surgery helps, 1/3 it does nothing, and 1/3 you get even worse pain. So 1/3 regret it. Have to roll the dice.

Most regret is due to lack of affirmation from bigoted, knee surgery-phobic Trump supporters.

On trans subreddits, if someone came forward and announced they were detransitioning, and that it truly was the right course of action, I know for a fact we would affirm them and encourage it

Sure, honey.

"They explicitly discourage any type of encouragement regarding detransitioning, even if someone were to theoretically go on there page and say that transitioning is killing them, they will constantly reaffirm and motivate them despite this"

Fixed it

I mean, trans activism is a cult so...
