Are you there Money? It's me, Dylan.

I've gotta say, this guy knows how to grift.

Doesn't he though? And he's actually putting in some effort too, not just sitting there with his hand out and saying "gibs me dat" like the BLM con artists. A reprehensible little shit, to be sure, but one with an actual work ethic.

He’s a cringe-golem, but a hardworking cringe-golem. He has probably realised that his shelf life is not particularly long and so is milking it whilst it lasts before the next social media homunculus comes along.

Oh, I'm in full agreement. The guy's as transgender as I am, but he found a niche and he's milking it for every ounce of celeb tiktok star power he can. It's peak current day societal degeneracy, and he's working it like a seasoned pro.

The guy's as transgender as I am,

Yeah, no titty skittles or even implants, no bottom work, and only a tiny bit of face work (IIRC). He's definitely on the "it's just a costume" side of things, isn't he.

He seems no different than a drag queen from fifteen years ago. Which is to say, it's the same old camp mannerisms but now it's supposedly not a joke.

the correct term is "twink death": they manage to hit the wall at 25, but many can't stand the idea of hitting the gym and dating instead of just standing around looking pretty until a sugar daddy "takes them home" (think of James Charles)

It’s why Owen Jones is such an angry little cunt.

but with neither they warmth nor the depth HEYOOOO

it's rare to see a simp like that who's GAY, but actually he's a good example of the "laptop class"--basically a perpetual undergrad always looking at the TA/lecturer to try and give the GOOD answer to get praise as a right-thinking member of the ingroup (rather than the answer that's merely factually CORRECT)

and they've been stewing in this community for a decade now so they have an imaginary 20yo college girl in their head headshaking and tsk-tsking every other sentence that they type for ableism or heterotransphobia or whatever skub they're tearing each other down over this week--basically they have to PRE-anticipate any possible objection, or they get publicly humiliated like Principal Skinner accidentally finding out that half of feminist theory contradicts the other half

Young women could learn a lot from this guy.

This trans stuff has become extremely boring and repetitive

[–]Musky༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ 🐈 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I agree, but it's important to pay attention to what they're doing, and to oppose it.

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Also, laughter is a powerful weapon. People have a remarkable ability to put up with lots of criticism and abuse, but outright laughter is really difficult to ignore and continue on doing what you’re doing.

Allowing these people enough space to reveal their ridiculous beliefs and then ridiculing them and laughing at them will do more damage to their cause than just screaming abuse at them.

[–]Musky༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ 🐈 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was just thinking that if the gender specials had managed to reign it in and not be so loud, demanding, unreasonable, violent, and/or outlandish until after laws were quietly changed and generations of the populace indoctrinated, it would be so much harder to counter, and it already is an uphill struggle when all the major platforms will silence dissent, including Twitter.

[–]newguy 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I know what you mean, but does opposing something that would get no discussion otherwise, actually shut it down, or does it just fan the flames?

These things are made in to public spectacles because of the mindset you espouse, whereas if we just flat out ignored them, the cultural relevance would go away much more quickly.

[–]Musky༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ 🐈 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'd wager a large portion of the 20-somethings and younger crowd grew up accepting gender identity ideology as sacrosanct because there was no push back, nobody to say, hey this is rather silly. Instead the ideology was taught as fact, and they are in a position where they need to unlearn their indoctrination.

I mean, when did we ever decide we must pander to the desires of a minority in fear of them killing themselves. At some point that went from being nonsense nobody would consider, to the status quo backed by government and NGOs with attempts of varying success to codify these beliefs into law.

[–]newguy 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I agree, but I think the best way to free them of this ideology is not to battle it to the hilt, because that will only make many of them more entrenched, as it's an emotional position and not a logical one. So by "attacking" them, they feel as victims, which in turn justifies their ideology, which emboldens them.

Some will see the light after a serious discussion, but many will just double down.

So I think the best way to disempower the weight this conversational topic has, is to ignore it entirely. But it is very hard in an environment where propaganda is being continuously fed to the masses regarding the subject.

There is one thing you can rely on the common person for: They get bored of things after so long. The trans fad is becoming very boring to talk about for many many people. Then they'll have to switch to something more emotionally salient. So if we avoid fanning the flames, maybe they'll drop it as a propaganda tool because it's not generating enough divide and conquer power. But it's a long game for sure.

Controversial trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney has been added to the promotional campaign for Lionsgate's struggling adaptation of Judy Blume's seminal novel 'Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.'

The film, which stars Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates and tells the story of the title character's dealing with faith and puberty in New Jersey, has struggled to date at the box office, earning just $16million in three weeks.

Despite the films 99 percent critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes - along with an equally impressive 94 percent audience score - the film hasn't come close to making back its $30million budget.

That has led the studio Lionsgate to bring out 'a last-minute paid partnership to draw attention to the film' with Mulvaney - whose advertisement with Bud Light has seen sales drop up to 20 percent a week - posting an interview with the celebrated author Blume on TikTok, according to Hollywood in Toto.

'Are you there God, it's me, Dylan!' Mulvaney excitedly begins the clip, which she captioned by calling Blume 'one of my heroes.' Blume recently backtracked after sharing her support for fellow author JK Rowling, who has come under fire for saying trans women should not be allowed in some female-only spaces.

“Are you there God, it's me, Dylan!“ as I believe pTerry might once have said that’s akin to standing on the top of a hill in a thunderstorm wearing bronze armour whilst screaming “All the gods are bastards!”

Let me see if I got this straight:

  • Author posts in support of JKR
  • Movie bombs at the box office
  • Gender Inc. sees an opportunity to force her to recant the tweet and convert her into a TRA by offering to "save" the movie with trans marketing propaganda

I also wonder if Lionsgate actually hopes to increase ticket sales from the marketing scheme, or if this is just part of some larger ESG deal.

[–]Wanderingthehalls 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I don't think it even bombed at the box office. Twitter tras just tantrumed and Lionsgate panicked.

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

No, it really bombed it struggled to make it to $16m in three weeks on a $30m budget and you can probably add another $10-15m in marketing on top of that $30m, so it is likely to have lost close to $20m.

[–]Wanderingthehalls 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I hadn't realised it had come out. That is really bad. Tbh, I initially assumed it was to be a streaming movie for Netflix/Prime as it's not the type of movie that was likely to draw a cinema audience.

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Maybe that’s the reason it bombed, no one knew it was out.

[–]LtGreenCo 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Are you there Lionsgate? It's me, Bankruptcy.

[–]IMissPorn 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This might make more sense than you'd first think. Using a controversial personality to drum up a little publicity for a failed project is quite different from using him to promote the country's top-selling beer.

I'd never heard of this movie until I read about Dylan promoting it. Of course I'm still not planning to see it, but if 1% of people who read these stories end up watching it that's probably a marketing win. And it's already been out three weeks, so bad publicity can't hurt it much.

[–]clownworlddropout 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

It's a bold strategy Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him.

Narrator: It didn't.

He's already been paid, so it worked out for him. I doubt it will for Lionsgate.

So another movie I won't watch.

I haven't watched a movie made in the last 15 years, and I haven't missed it one bit

I probably will watch this movie. But in a way that only my electric company will be making any profit from.
