I rather suspect that these are the sorts of people who wouldn't be having sex in any case, and they're just turning that reality into something that makes it seem like it's by their choice instead of everyone else's.

No, I think it’s people who may be are a little bit autistic and think that everyone else is thinking about and having sex all the time and, because they’re not, they must be special/a different gender/a different sexuality.

Gen Z is having wa-ay less sex than any other generation and leaving it later to have it. In part because they’ve never been left unsupervised due to helicopter parenting and possibly also because they received sex education that was way over the top and scared them celibate.

I suspect that all the sexualities beyond the LGB and straight, are just reactions to misunderstanding how other people think. “Demisexual” and “sapiosexual” gave the game away. Demisexual just means you’re not bed hopping and sapiosexual is the kind of thing people claim to sound cool, but there is zero chance they’re blowing, if he were still alive, Stephen Hawking, because his intellect attracts them.

Personally I think it's mostly women that come up with these labels. My experience has been that asexuals and demisexuals and what not are women who are trying to come up with some label for themselves since they seem to be trying to reconcile the rather false idea that the sexes are "equal" read identical and they lack the stereotypical male sex drive that popular media promotes.

I've always just preferred the term "low libido" as that seems more accurate to me. Most so called asexuals though are out doing things other than writing mannifesto however. It's one of the most stupid things ever to be like "hey look at how much sex I'm not having!"

Honestly, given how this has exploded both around women, and around the same time as Nice Guys[tm] started getting pissed at the ways women would let a guy down easy when they're rejecting them, I'd assume it's equally likely it's also down to "This guy won't take a hint that I'm not interested, I really don't want to shut them down and end the friendship- I need to find something that sounds enough like being gay that they'll think I'm a lesbian and give up on me." (This adds to why it's lost a little bit of it's power since the "cotton ceiling" became a thing and those guys made the patch of "Oh, You're gay? Ha. I'm a woman now, and because I'm a trans woman I outrank you on the Oppression Olympics, so you now owe me sex.")

My sister once told me, it’s been probably 10 years since then, that the „new“ comparing dick sizes is „who has it worse, who is the most oppressed and the unluckiest“ and she was dead on because you can’t tell me this whole lgbtqia+ bullshit has any substance other than that there are people who are same sex attracted and some who are transsexual … everything else around it is people wanting their cake and eat it too like bruh

No one cares about your dumb sex life, no one cares about my dumb sex life, I don’t even care for my friend‘s sex life as I don’t wanna know what they do and don’t to. It’s their right and duty to keep that to themselves unless asked about it. But apparently you gotta dissect every little thing these days. You were born white, middle class with two loving parents? Asexual is supposedly defined by never experiencing sexual attraction. If these people are autistic, they may not understand what sexual attraction is or what it’s supposed to feel like.

Im someone who would consider herself „aroace“ if I was to use the terminology and all the reasons you’ve stated are more than possible for myself as well. Like, I just don’t feel attracted to people on a romantic or sexual level, that’s just who I am. It sucks and I hate it, I wish I was able to experience that. To some it’s chill, to some it feels like a curse to be that way, but it’s not some „wonderful, unique, special“ experience like some of those Allo-Aro-Ace_Grey-sexuals are stating. It’s a state of being and it shouldn’t be celebrated nor hated. That’s what annoys me about woke-culture so much. They think being a minority, different to the norms of society, is being like a better human being than others and that’s why everyone hates their agenda, not because of the actual causes or groups they use to shield themselves so no one is allowed to say a bad thing about it (looking at Reddit who banned this group because it’s not conforming to their neoliberal norms when nothing on here harms a person, just takes the piss at them as they do with people like us). I have to hope that in about 10 years we all will look at this mess and just move on from whatever the fuck is going on in the world rn

Not sure about the Shakers, but I lived up near Lancaster County and my parents would drag us (I actually loved history and seeing all that stuff, but far too cool to admit it when I was a kid), to all these historical sites. The Cloisters were a severe lot. If I had to choose, I think I'd be a Shaker rather than a Cloister.

A lot of references to 'dismantling', 'rejecting' blah blah, no explanation of what they actually want. These ideologues are such children just throwing tantrums and demanding others fix problems they can't define with solutions they can never identify (because there are no solutions that are ever enough).
