I know this site is for free speech and all but please cut the antisemitism and conspiracy theory bs from the front page. It's not a good look and is going to drive people away from trying the site.

Many of the things you have just mentioned indeed are conspiracies, they are simply not conspiracy theories, but rather conspiracy facts.

Nothing personal to you, as you're not the only one that I've seen do this, but it's way too often that I nowadays see the word "conspiracy" conflated with "falsehood". Obviously there are, have been and will continue to be a multitude of conspiracies that are very much factual. The word conspiracy simply means: "a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful", it is not a synonym for something that is inherently false. Far from it. But these days the propaganda has been so effective that the word "conspiracy" has literally been conflated with the term "conspiracy theory" and ultimately with likely those theories that are least likely to be true (Flat Earth anyone?).

Either way, it's a semantic issue, but a highly relevant one nonetheless, one that should not be ignored in such discussions.

And funnily enough... the redefining of the word "conspiracy" was an actual conspiracy done by the CIA originally to counter criticism of the Warren report. Go figure.

I'm being pedantic, but if conspiracy is "a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful", if it's known and out in the open, doesn't it cease to be a conspiracy?
