No, let them see it immediately.

People need to know this stuff is here if they decide whether to use the site. Then they can choose to go elsewhere if they want to. Don't con people into using a site they don't agree with.

Also in the couple of weeks I've been here I've seen those people turn up in the comments of every sub. Hiding their subs will only make it seem more of a shock when they turn up in your post about crunchy peanut butter to tell you the juice is behind it.

Finally conspiracy theories often lead to racism but not always, don't conflate the two. You might be snobbish towards conspiracy theorists but that's no reason to declare they must be hidden. Particularly at the moment when we very do much have a small minority controlling the media narrative which doesn't fit reality at all.

[–]kokolokoNightcrawler 46 insightful - 8 fun46 insightful - 7 fun47 insightful - 8 fun -  (21 children)

2 percent of the population running 95% of the world media is no conspiracy, it's a fact. 2 percent running all the banks that are coming for your rent/mortgage/credit payment while you're forbidden to have a job in the middle of plandemic ...that's not a conspiracy, it's a fact... They will own your house, your business and your life and keep telling you on CNN how you're a white privileged homeless person, that's a fact of life these days, not a conspiracy.

[–]Jac0b777 33 insightful - 7 fun33 insightful - 6 fun34 insightful - 7 fun -  (7 children)

Many of the things you have just mentioned indeed are conspiracies, they are simply not conspiracy theories, but rather conspiracy facts.

Nothing personal to you, as you're not the only one that I've seen do this, but it's way too often that I nowadays see the word "conspiracy" conflated with "falsehood". Obviously there are, have been and will continue to be a multitude of conspiracies that are very much factual. The word conspiracy simply means: "a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful", it is not a synonym for something that is inherently false. Far from it. But these days the propaganda has been so effective that the word "conspiracy" has literally been conflated with the term "conspiracy theory" and ultimately with likely those theories that are least likely to be true (Flat Earth anyone?).

Either way, it's a semantic issue, but a highly relevant one nonetheless, one that should not be ignored in such discussions.

[–]whistlepig 18 insightful - 4 fun18 insightful - 3 fun19 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

And funnily enough... the redefining of the word "conspiracy" was an actual conspiracy done by the CIA originally to counter criticism of the Warren report. Go figure.

[–]PRSanon 12 insightful - 3 fun12 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 3 fun -  (8 children)

In case anyone wants, here is a look into the details and some of the reasons for this, including the IQ explanation.

[–]Extract 8 insightful - 4 fun8 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

Haha stupid niggers are poor because of their low IQ, they deserve to be where they are

NOOOOOO JEWISH PEOPLE CANT BE SUCCESSFUL BECSUCE OF THEIR HIGH IQ IT MUST BE A CONSPIRACY, NEOPATISM IS RAMPANT THEY'RE STEALING OUR HIGH POSITIONS NOOOOOOOOOOO

On a side note, notice how despite black people being pretty favorable towards other blacks in the USA, those same arguments fail to apply to them?

[–]Prism 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

On a side note, notice how despite black people being pretty favorable towards other blacks in the USA

That's an extremely interesting take when you consider this document that was released by the DOJ, that shows that through 1980 to 2008 that 93 percent of black people who are murdered are murdered at the hands of other black people. There's a graph on page 13 that visualizes this and gives actual stats instead of feelings n sheit.

Black people are largely overrepresented in violent crime almost EVERYWHERE they are, regardless of how much of the population they make up. That's largely against other black people too.

But please do continue explaining how being largely responsible for the pain and suffering of your own people should be construed as being "pretty favorable" toward them.

Obviously it's whitey's fault right?

HE WAS A GOOD BOY WHO DINDU NOTHING. EVERYBODY IS JUST RACIST N SHEIT.

[–]Locke[S] 14 insightful - 6 fun14 insightful - 5 fun15 insightful - 6 fun -  (55 children)

I never stated antisemitism and conspiracy theories are related, I said neither should be prominently displayed. I'm not "snobbish" for disagreeing with "alternative facts" and you can go off and pretend I am all you want. This might as well be called right wing Reddit and you're certainly not convincing me otherwise. Two different kinds of Internet cesspools. Lovely.

I'm theoretically supposed to be able to call out what I disagree with here. So are you. Go ahead and go off, call me whatever you want, IDGAF. I see the echo chambers are already working here similarly to Reddit and I'm disappointed. Maybe I shouldn't have expected better.

Unless the mods start caring so many people will be turned off by this site there's no way it will be able to compete with Reddit. Let people leave if they don't agree with everything? That's certainly not in the rules. Is this about free speech or not? Do we want something with actual mass appeal or not?

By all means say whatever you want, but that doesn't mean everyone wants to see it.

[–]wristaction 39 insightful - 6 fun39 insightful - 5 fun40 insightful - 6 fun -  (29 children)

In summary, you want the mods to ban people from discussing a certain topic which is also banned on every other platform including reddit.

[–]Locke[S] 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (28 children)

I never said ban it. I said don't prominently display it on the front page.

[–]magnora7 39 insightful - 10 fun39 insightful - 9 fun40 insightful - 10 fun -  (27 children)

How exactly do you expect an admin to do that? You want me to fake the upvote counts to diminish something? Not doing that, sorry.

What are you actually proposing here?

[–]Turnaround 10 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 2 fun -  (22 children)

Maybe we can not include some of the more.. "out there" or "distasteful" subs in /all ?

I'm a conservative, but coming on here seeing blatantly racist content is turning me off. I personally didn't leave reddits obvious extreme left wing bias to be surrounded by obvious extreme right wing bias content. But in the interest of letting those people have their place, let's keep it to those that are subscribed to their subs.

[–]whistlepig 17 insightful - 3 fun17 insightful - 2 fun18 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

That is how the internet is and has always been. Maybe you should go back to just using AOL.

[–]magnora7 15 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 2 fun -  (14 children)

That's fair, that's basically our policy right now, except how "out there" or "distasteful" something is is judged entirely by how frequently it drags discussion down the pyramid of debate: https://saidit.net/static/PyramidDebate.jpg

I suppose I could tighten that up a bit, but then some people get angry that their free speech is being limited and fear that I am becoming the very censorship we created this place to escape, so it's always a balance.

[–]Questionable 39 insightful - 5 fun39 insightful - 4 fun40 insightful - 5 fun -  (10 children)

Right, you are only calling for censorship, and now playing the victim. Look, if you don't like the content leave.

[–]Locke[S] 8 insightful - 7 fun8 insightful - 6 fun9 insightful - 7 fun -  (9 children)

If you don't like my content leave the post. You don't like being told that, I bet, so why bother telling me? This site is supposedly about open debate, not trying to intimidate people you disagree with into leaving. Come back when you have some actual debate.

[–]Extract 24 insightful - 4 fun24 insightful - 3 fun25 insightful - 4 fun -  (4 children)

Thing is, you are not debating - you are saying "people (implying yourself as well) are going to leave unless a specific type of content gets censored (and yes, supression is censorship)".

The other person said what most of us agree with - people who want to leave unless something they dont like is censored (be that you or not) can as well get the fuck out right now and save themselves some time.

If you dislike specific comments in a thread, take the time to call them out (or debank them), or upvote comments doing so.

If you dislike the content of the front page, upvote better posts.

Like it or not, those conspiracy theorists are creating actual content for this site, while all you are doing is bitching about them.
Ironically, the very solution to this would be for you to create and upvote better content.

[–]Prism 15 insightful - 4 fun15 insightful - 3 fun16 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

Dude's account is 2 days old and one of his only posts is conveniently calling for the censorship of "antisemitic conspiracy theories". His intentions are crystal clear.

[–]Jesus 13 insightful - 4 fun13 insightful - 3 fun14 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Yup ignore him. His intentions are overt.

[–]book-of-saturday 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Exactly, these are the very same old tactics they used at reddit Obvious concern trolling

[–]Questionable 13 insightful - 3 fun13 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

That's the stupidest come back I have ever read. You made this thread, you invited criticism. It is you who is hiding behind a proxy pretending to speak for those who can not. It is you who are calling for censorship. It is you who are whining about the content you don't like. It is you who have the problem and it is you who are trying to intimidate me, here and now by again playing as a victim. I can not emphasis this enough, if you don't like the content on the front page. Fuck off! We don't cater to your demands!

[–]JasonCarswell 29 insightful - 8 fun29 insightful - 7 fun30 insightful - 8 fun -  (8 children)

You might actually learn something if you challenge yourself and read conspiracy theories and opposing opinions outside your bubble.

[–]Locke[S] 9 insightful - 6 fun9 insightful - 5 fun10 insightful - 6 fun -  (6 children)

You might actually learn something if you read out of your own bubble.

[–]Uncle-Ruckus 24 insightful - 12 fun24 insightful - 11 fun25 insightful - 12 fun -  (0 children)

You might actually learn something if you read out of your own bubble.

Is blatantly advocating for hiding content he disagrees with from main pages on a social media platform.

Ironic, he could save others from censorship, but not himself.

[–]JasonCarswell 14 insightful - 6 fun14 insightful - 5 fun15 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

I try to all the time.

[–]Fitter_Happier 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Oh right, this line of reasoning. What makes you think you're so well read and everyone that disagrees with you lives in a bubble?

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

You're goddamn right. :)

[–]jet199 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Straight in with the buzz words, assume my political stabs and don't actually address any of my points. Just ranting the void.

I suppose thinking that protestors are not immune to covid-19, that the Chinese government are committing genocide with everyone watching and Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself are all just alternative facts rather than things being covered up.

I don't know what you think I'm going to call you? I'll try and think of something. Precious, maybe. Reactive might be better.

[–]yetanotherone_sigh 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

Unfortunately it appears that reddit has kicked out a lot of these people (serious racists, white nationalists, and anti-semitists).

They migrated to voat and took it over. Now voat is just an utter cesspool.

This platform was pretty good and had useful and thoughtful discussion, the way reddit did 10 years ago.

I don't know what the solution is, but it appears that a completely free-speech platform will inevitably go to the same path that voat did. This is well-poisoning. You have 3% of the worst of the worst... loud-mouth and awful human beings. And you give them a loudspeaker.

[–]Extract 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The solution is for you to create and upvote better content.

If you (and others like you) cared half as much about that as the people you whine about care about their content, it wouldn't even reach /s/all

[–]cybitch 51 insightful - 7 fun51 insightful - 6 fun52 insightful - 7 fun -  (11 children)

I used to feel the same way, until I saw reddit being overtaken by anti-white rhetoric. Now I don't believe in wokeness anymore, I don't think any of this SJW stuff was ever really about equality and creating a more harmonious society at all, it was about using race to pit the lower class against each other. None of these slimy activists give a fuck about anyone else, really, it's about dividing people even further so they can be pitted against one another. To make sure there will always be an underclass, and to keep people walking on eggshells around each other to make sure they don't end up being part of it. Now I want to see sites where everyone can speak. People should get used to the fact there is more than one way to view the world. You don't have to brainwash yourself to follow their rules in order to be allowed to express yourself. Seems like the woke cult are doing all they can to make it seem otherwise.

[–]FediNetizen 10 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

Now I don't believe in wokeness anymore, I don't think any of this SJW stuff...

Same with most of the people here, including myself. But people that think the Jews control everything are a small minority, and that stuff is a turnoff to most people. If your goal is to build a site with broad appeal, then that shit needs to be opt-in.

[–]bobbobbybob 14 insightful - 3 fun14 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

We DON'T CARE what YOU THINK.

you don't get to police free speech outside of the existing rules of the site. If you don't like it LEAVE.

If you truly think that people are wrong when they point out Chabadist or Zionist Jewish involvement in whatever the issue is, then DEBATE IT. That's the joy of free speech. Debate, facts, ideas, all get tested in a smelting pot of conversation. Good ones live, bad ones die. Naturally.

I'm Jewish, by the way, so fuck you you speech NAZI

[–]JasonCarswell 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Well stated.

[–]Locke[S] 3 insightful - 4 fun3 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

I don't believe in "woke culture" either. We're not in disagreement.

[–]wristaction 28 insightful - 6 fun28 insightful - 5 fun29 insightful - 6 fun -  (46 children)

Why do you assume people will be turned off by antisemitic speech who were not turned off by reddit's antiwhite speech?

[–]FediNetizen 13 insightful - 4 fun13 insightful - 3 fun14 insightful - 4 fun -  (44 children)

Even if I get annoyed at the occasional racist post on Reddit, it's tolerable because it makes up such a small percentage of the content. On Saidit it's a lot more prevalent, and a lot harder to brush aside.

[–][deleted] 24 insightful - 4 fun24 insightful - 3 fun25 insightful - 4 fun -  (37 children)

As a jew myself, even one who has lived many years in Israel i naturally feel invested in all the antisemitism. That being said, the issue to me is that clearly a lot of people feel this way... that's what matters. Thinking you're solving anything by stopping people from expressing how they feel seems childish to me. And that desire also seems to come from a place where people feel intimidated. Maybe they're right about a lot and so them being able to speek freely about it is a good and important thing. Maybe they're crazy and sad losers in which case no one should feel intimidated by what they have to say.

[–]yayblueberries 15 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 2 fun -  (16 children)

Right? It amazes me how much we supposedly live in a country where everybody loves screaming "free speech" and then they all want to silence the first opinion they see that they hate. All that does is silence somebody who is probably already quite angry about something, which is only going to make them more furious, and fuel their hatred. No wonder this country is so full of very extreme people at this point.

[–]FediNetizen 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (14 children)

If that "amazes" you, then I suspect, you don't actually understand what free speech is.

There are four fundamental aspects to free speech:

1) The right to speak 2) The right not to speak 3) The right to listen 4) The right not to listen

An individual or community is free to reject whatever views they like. That's part of the 4th freedom. A church is free to either limit or outright reject the speech of atheists. A feminist club is free to limit or outright reject men's rights activists. And an online community is free to limit or outright reject whatever views it likes.

[–]Uncle-Ruckus 12 insightful - 3 fun12 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

And an online community is free to limit or outright reject whatever views it likes.

Funny you say that when the site admins outright state they do not want to censor anyone. And it is their right.

[–]FediNetizen 4 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 4 fun -  (9 children)

It's not about stopping people from expressing how they feel, it's about making it clear that those views don't represent this site. If people want to have that discussion, that's fine. Just do what we do with other subs that ban people for dissenting opinions, and don't have it show up on the frontpage by default.

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

it's about making it clear that those views don't represent this site

Isn't that the mentality where you assume everywhere is an echo chamber? It's not the site's fault if some people are so used to echo chambers they can't imagine that this place isn't an echo chamber.

[–]FediNetizen 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

An echo chamber is a place where a particular (usually fringe) perspective has reached majority consensus and dissenters are shouted down. Most people find racism to be distasteful, so having racism shoved in their face will push them away from the site, and eventually this site will end up being another right-wing echo chamber like Voat.

You don't have to actual ban racist content to solve this problem, you just make it opt-in like other sites do for porn or other controversial/adult content.

[–]bobbobbybob 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

you are not listening.

You have no right to police what is spoken about here, or to police how the site may or may not be perceived by anyone else, outside of the existing rules of the site.

We sometimes like talking about the jewish question. And sometimes we have to live with crazy kikes like myself calling other people 'kike' for shits and giggles. Well, ex-kike, I guess, as I embraced our messiah, Jesus, and left the synagogue of satan behind.

And I should be allowed to talk about it, be seen to talk about it, and be seen to have people challenge my views with DEBATE, not CENSORSHIP.

go back to reddit, you don't belong here. Or take a big deep breath, grow up, and counter anything you perceive as 'anti-semitism' with rational debate, facts etc.

[–]Extract 8 insightful - 5 fun8 insightful - 4 fun9 insightful - 5 fun -  (1 child)

Here's a secret to changing this:
1. Make better posts.
2. Upvote posts that aren't antisemitic/racist.
3. Call out such posts in the comments.
4. Whine about those posts on /s/all Sorry nvm forgot this isnt reddit.

[–]TruthTeller 25 insightful - 4 fun25 insightful - 3 fun26 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

I disagree with you entirely and advocate the opposite approach. I for one am not here to "look good." It's ok if it "drives people away." If we take your approach to its logical conclusion what we have then is reddit all over again.

Don't read stuff you don't like. Skip past all "kikes" and shit like that. There's assholes around everywhere. But no, I think everyone is free to post any conspiracy theory here and any anti-semitism they want. At the same time I have the right to call out their bullshit as often as I like. And so should you.

[–]Extract 11 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

Damn, that really is a relevant username.

I'll share a conspiracy theory of my pwn with you.

What if I told you, that the last refugee wave was large enough for some propoganda organizations to put this site on their radar?

What if I told you the concern trolls posting those threads/comments are the first wave of shills, whose goal is to slowly corrupt this site the same way most platforms (like many subreddits, in their time) get corrupted?
Notice how most of those concern trolls highlight problems that could actually be solved by their own participation - but, that would actually help the site, while their goal is clearly to (slowly) undermine it.

They will also cite the new influx of users as a good thing, and threaten it ends if $demandList isn't met, while in reality much of this activity is artifically created by those shills (not most votes, just the early spike that makes it visible enough for other people to upvote it for the sake of discussion).

This isn't going to stop, by the way - this is only going to get worse the more popular this site gets.

[–][deleted] 20 insightful - 13 fun20 insightful - 12 fun21 insightful - 13 fun -  (1 child)

These fags can go back to Reddit at any time, but insist on searching the internet out for places that say things they don't like so they can get those things banned. Control freaks at their very cores.

[–]zyxzevn 18 insightful - 5 fun18 insightful - 4 fun19 insightful - 5 fun -  (3 children)

Let me list a few
mainstream conspiracy theories:
The russia-gate (any side).
The impeachment (any side)
Science around the Hydroxychloroquine
The Black Lives Matter / Antifa looting, burning, (and murder)
Cover-up of police violence
Or the evidence for the lab origin of the virus
The bombing of Iran by Israel, trying to start a war..
The White Helmets (who are also known to be extremists)
The bad state of the US voting system
The trillions of covid-19 funds going into big business
The covid spying-app that does not more damage than good.
The censorship of scientists and doctors by Youtube/Google and more.
The manipulation of information by big corporations.
The censorship of criticism on gender-ideas and other extreme left viewpoints
The coming economic breakdown of society
Etc.

This is because our news is filled with narratives and propaganda,
and has stepped away from basic reality.

This is caused by the centralization of power in both the US and EU.
In a real democracy, the civilians tell the government what they should do. But now the governments are dictating the civilians what they should do.
And the international corporations, are directing (or paying) the people in the governments to do their bidding.

[–]Jac0b777 3 insightful - 6 fun3 insightful - 5 fun4 insightful - 6 fun -  (1 child)

Ah yes, but those aren't really conspiracy theories, because they are true! Conspiracy theories are only things like Flat Earth, Reptilians and antisemitism, oh and Q-Anon type stuff!

I just posted a "what's up with..." post on AskSaidit on the same subject. I can understand criticizing a government but a lot of this stuff on the site is blanket statements about people.

[–]Locke[S] 10 insightful - 5 fun10 insightful - 4 fun11 insightful - 5 fun -  (5 children)

And blanket statements are clearly spelled out as against the rules, yet these posts not only stay up, the subs are automatically subscribed to and prominent on the front page. I'm not holding my breath on Saidit not having similar corrupt moderation issues as Reddit. I don't care if a shit sandwich is right wing or left wing extreme, it's still a shit sandwich. I'm very politically moderate and feel just as unwelcome here as on Reddit. If this account gets banned I'll certainly know why.

[–]Turnaround 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Its like in their desperation to not be seen censoring they're just letting anything go. Not a good look, I hoped this was going to be my new place for interesting content but all I've got so far is anti reddit, anti jew, anti whatever crap that is really not interesting.

[–]Velocity 12 insightful - 5 fun12 insightful - 4 fun13 insightful - 5 fun -  (3 children)

I don't want any harm to befall Jewish people. But I want them to stop their war on us.

You can't fix what you can't talk about. And Jewish collective power has played an enormous role in getting us to where we are today. This is just the painful reality.

Speech bans on social media, for example. These only became normalized in recent years at the behest of Jewish censorship institutions like the Anti-Defamation League, the juggernaut that pressured Twitter to create their Orwellian "Trust and Safety Council" in the first place.

I understand that even the word "Jew" is triggering for some people, but we are going to have to find ways to productively talk about the global effects of Jewish collective power and Jewish insecurity, without constantly being accused of diminishing their humanity.

    Here's how it is.

The Right was kicked off Reddit first. Thus they came here and to similar sites first. Idiotic Leftists who agree with each-other on 99/100 things were kicked off Reddit next, because they disagree with the Left on, oh, 1/100 things. You see, you have to agree on 100/100 things to be a good Leftist.

The latter groups effectively want a 'Reddit minus the mainstream Left that kicked us out, the Left left us, we didn't leave them!!!', which is precisely what the OP wants. He has a 2 day old account which, oh yeah, already effectively calls for deplatforming the Right. Let's face it, you're a Leftist who is just mad that the rest of the Left don't like you because of your belief on a select issue.

So now, there will now be a battle between the established Right and the flood of Leftists coming here (particularly the recent GenderCritical and various 'LGBTQIAXYZ but I have a problem with one single letter so I'm going to form my own group that excludes them' communities). Because Leftists are overwhelmingly the majority, you'll have another Leftist echo chamber in short order. Except that this will be a particularly vicious one full of 'go back to Reddit' and 'screw you because I disagree on one single issue bigot' nonsense.

My advice for Leftists is simple: Drop whatever bigotries you have and then you'll be able to reintegrate into Reddit fine. There, you'll be contained, rather than spilling out like a contagious disease, and other sites won't have to worry about your incessant 'but you don't agree with me on 1/100 issues, so screw you bigot!' nonsense.

If you're GenderCritical, just drop the 'men can't be women' idea immediately. Pronto. You can't do it fast enough. That's pretty much the only reason why Reddit doesn't want you. If you do that, you'll be able to reintegrate into mainstream feminism and Reddit communities just fine.

If you're 'LGBdroptheT' just give up your 'transphobia' and you'll be able to reintegrate into Reddit and standard LGBT just fine.

And so on for all other Leftist communities. You can literally all do this if you just drop the one thing the rest of your diseased kind would gladly blow your head off over disagreeing about. Yes, men can become women. No, trans people are not 'erasing' other alphabet people. This is what the Left overwhelmingly and irreversibly believes now. Without a full-blown collapse, they will never go back to taking your side on those issues. Get with the times.

This isn't a free speech site afaik, it's one that focuses on open, quality debate. That can include free speech, but it also shuts down baseless bullshit that often comes from some quarters.

No. That would be the first step towards the thought policing you see on Reddit, Twitter and youtube.

I'm Jewish. I oddly enough almost appreciate the blatant open anti semitic posts because for most of my life I falsely thought we were way past this. It's important to see how real racism actually exists these days. When we pretend it doesn't exits and everything is perfect we get complacent and secure. People these days feel more free to be anti Israel because they think antisemitism is done and over with, but that is not the case.

When other people don't see actual racist speech towards groups they will say "what are you talking about?!! We solved this years ago?". On the other hand, I would really appreciate more interesting content here. I think if we have more interesting stuff and more commenters it might drown out the garbage in unrelated posts.

    [–]JasonCarswell 13 insightful - 5 fun13 insightful - 4 fun14 insightful - 5 fun -  (1 child)

    I don't think it's really racism. It's anti-supremacy, anti-exceptionalism, anti-hypocrisy, anti-deception, anti-manipulation, anti-usury, anti-war, anti-victim-culture, and many of the other things rightly and/or wrongly attributed to the BEHAVIOR of the Jews and/or Zionists.

Good, you should leave. We all come here to speak our minds. That's the point of the site. You came here to try to stop that. You are the bad guy. The bully. The villain. The sadist. Let go of your desperate need to control people. Or go. Your choice.

    [–]bobbobbybob 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

you have created this entire 'im not welcome' narrative out of nothing. Your demands are not welcome, your demands for censorship are not welcome, but you? If you've got something interesting to say, go for it.

Although obviously we all think you are a run of the mill concern-troll 'look at me' drama faggot and no one is going to be taking any of your whinging shit seriously.

    [–]NaughtyUnicorn 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

This might be just my opinion, but I don't want any form of free speech shut down. I realize that if you let anyone say anything there will be some shocking stuff that will crosses our path, but who cares? Because we have free speech here, we also have the freedom to pick on and shun the people that don't think like the majority of us do. Would you rather go into that box that Reddit has set for people? Everyone should have a voice, and it's up to the majority to decide if we will laugh and shun that voice out of our society. This is how societies should function. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to let a handful of people with power dictate what I can see. Yeah, there's stuff here that I don't like, so I will call them out on it, or laugh at it and then move on, don't let other people decide and censor things for you! If you see things that you don't like call that person out on it, debate them, or ignore them, make fun of them, but if you can't handle that go back to Reddit where they can decide for you what you should see. If you find yourself not fitting in here, maybe you are that small percentage of society that wants other people to tell you what you should think.

    [–]FediNetizen 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Agree 100%. I can just ignore it, but racism on the front page would keep a lot of average people from signing up, exacerbating the bias, and eventually saidit could end up just like Voat.

I really want to saidit to grow into something like the Reddit I signed up for, and too much of this shit will absolutely prevent that.

    [–]NaughtyUnicorn 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, maybe the people who run this website should put a 'block' option for all the liberals who defected here and are still living in their delicate very censored and controlled lives...or you all could learn how to function in the world like the rest of us.

    [–]AllCongressIsZionist 5 insightful - 4 fun5 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 4 fun -  (4 children)

We need to differentiate between Jews and (sos) Synagogue of Satan. True Jews do not support israel and the genocide of Palestinians.

I ditched reddit to get away from far left collectivism and identity politics, and now I'm dealing with the same shit but on the other side of the coin!

    [–]proc0 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Oh boy, here we go! It's not free speech if you censor a different opinion. The line should be strictly at calls for violence.

Once enough people know about it, they will ignore it and the communities should be self-regulating this way.

Check out /new if you think front page is bad.

This place started out rational but I've been seeing more and more conspiracy shit, BIG BOLDED TEXT SHOUTING POINTS, anti-mask rhetoric, racism, and the like. Half the comments are the bottom tier of the pyramid debate. I just stick to the subs I want to follow now. The s/all is a shitshow.

I'm not anti-semitic, but you know, I want people to speak what's on their minds. I'm not gonna complain. If you disagree, then debate it. Debating will help.
