"openly talking like a conservative to my face"

How dare someone, uhh, sound like a conservative! Especially to their face. The nerve of someone to openly discuss how they feel about something to their spouse.

I had a conversation with someone once where I commented that both sides have their crazies, and the other person told me I should be careful saying "both sides" because its something far right people use. They were being dead serious lol

They're like brick walls in conversation. Nothing gets through to them and they're completely oblivious to how they sound. I've got a coworker who's a nice guy, but peak redditor. He literally looks like the neckbeard wojak. He started prying into my politics the other day and I steered away from it. It was pretty clear I wasn't a leftist though. He starts making comments about how some people have their side because of how they feel about abortion or something, but they don't actually know what the politicians are doing. It was the most annoyingly condescending crap I've heard in a while. Like he thought I didn't want to get into politics with him because I'm uneducated or don't know what's going on in the world. It's like, no, we're grown adults who need to work with each other, and as much as I typically get along well with the guy, he doesn't strike me as bright.

How fucking condescending, too. They act like they're saving you from yourself and enlightening you. Like you're supposed to say "oh my, I would never want to sound like one of them. Thank you ever so much!"

Im as tired of the overbearing lgbt stuff as the next person. But its fucking irritating when people use religion as their main argument against lgbt people. Kids dont belong at pride and that was a good point but the whole thing about gods creation rainbows, and the 7 deadly sins barely has a leg to stand on and you wont convince anyone they are wrong by saying it. all you will do is make people double down about how wrong you must be.

[–]outside 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I feel like there's a psychological need for religion to some people. It would explain why the left has become very religious-like. They've got their own original sin (privilege), nothing is based on rational thought, it's all about consulting some kind of clergy (academics, activists, etc). This one had progressivism as their church, now they're switching to some kind of Christianity.

[–]TheStandingResident 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Mentiswave made a video about this phenomenon.

[–]Dragonerne 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I disagree. Christianity gives you an outlet to express how you feel about the LGBTQ community without anyone being able to attack you for it.

If they do, then they are bigots that don't tolerate religious freedom.

Expressing these views through Christianity publicly allows others that fear speaking out to see that they too can speak out publicly in a safe manner. It is very effective.

For real, if that were an option -- this reads like a virginal LDR thing. He might as well get the karma cause he's never gonna hit that. It's just a matter of time at this point, she out grew him.

He's doing the time but he won't get to commit the crime.

To be fair she's clearly getting radicalized too.

[–]jet199 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's not what the word radicalized means.

If someone converts to a peaceful religion and changes how they live their life, they haven't been radicalized. This is just normal behaviour.

"They ruined God's natural creation, the rainbow"

Religious indoctrination. There's no hate like christian love.

Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems.

Musky, don't go down this path

[–]Musky[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Why not?

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

What is it going to accomplish other than cause pain and make you evil?

[–]Musky[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Look at Op, he's a pathetic excuse for a boy, he dumped his girlfriend over her entirely reasonable views and he's into trannies and femboys. None of that is a positive step in life, it's focusing on getting his rocks off -- that's ultimately pointless.

It is today's attitudes that foster that sort of thing.

Or take your own pity party girl fox bondage fantasy. Maybe you got something good in your life you never mention, but what is any of the stuff you do mention going to do for you besides waste your 20s feeling miserable and longing for a fetish.

Opposing that is not evil, it's good.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

"I killed a person, but Stalin killed millions so that makes me okay!" is what you sound like.

Your tits obsession is no more meaningful than my bondage one, or whatever anyone fantasizes about.

[–]Musky[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I don't think there's an equivalence between your thing and anyone elses. Liking tits is normal. Most everyone likes tits. They're comforting and aesthetically pleasing. Wanting to be a fox girl tied up in a dungeon so you have to piss yourself is a pretty out there fetish.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Oh that's strange, because I'm pretty sure tits are disgusting private parts, whereas being tied up feels like it would be comforting and fun.

Am I wrong simply for having an unpopular opinion? I thought this wasn't reddit.

[–]Musky[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You can like whatever you like, just seems like a shitty way to go through life to me.

whereas being tied up feels like it would be comforting and fun.

I wonder if you tried it once if you'd hate it.

[–]jet199 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

That's just another way of saying, "You should learn to be happy in your own skin."

Why is that a bad thing?

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

She was ranting about gays and lesbians too, and even her own bisexuality.

[–]Karce33 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Considering the sick fuck said this, shes not sticking around with that weirdo

[–]outside 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

This probably sparked how she feels about it. Almost no women want to be in a relationship with a bisexual guy. They might not feel bigoted towards them, but it suggests the guy might be more attracted to something they just aren't, so there's a risk they'll up and leave them and they don't even have a chance to compete. Furthermore, if that happens, it suggests to them everything they had together was a lie.

[–]Musky[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

My ex dated a bisexual and he was always trying to cheat on her with guys. She didn't have all the equipment he wanted.

[–]outside 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I believe it. Given the social pressures against men being gay, I think a lot probably come out in stages. Even if you genuinely can find both sexes attractive, you're going to have a preference. My guess is men who would be technically bi, but prefer women, probably just don't come out and just aim for women, with most of the ones who come out having a preference for men.

She obviously needs to stick to her rules and break up with him, because he's being a little faggot.

even semi-intelligent ones recognize panderers and attention whores

Based goth GF. SMV off the charts.

[–]LarrySwinger2 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

It's just one person, nothing to triumph over. Social media create the illusion that anecdotes of people outside one's direct social circle are indicative of larger social trends. Don't fall for that.

[–]Musky[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

It was a whole thread of people agreeing with the girlfriend before the comments got deleted. I'm also hearing on Twitter from parents that the kids are sick of gender ideology, and there's a poll supporting a new conservative trend among HS boys

It's definitely something to get excited for.

[–]Vulptex 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

They're not conservative, they're anti-liberal reactionaries. Which is just the other side of the same coin.

[–]Musky[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So they're useful idiots, I can work with that.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I am seeing it happen a lot though. Example: 95% of saidit users. It's happening in real life too.

[–]hfxB0oyA 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

I think there's a difference between hating gay people and hating having their lifestyle being shoved down your throat on a daily basis.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

But this girl was complaining about how gay people are "against God's creation" and all that, and started forcing herself to be straight.

[–]hfxB0oyA 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'm talking about the broader population.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

To a degree it's happening to a large handful of people (still not the majority by any means).
