I had a conversation with someone once where I commented that both sides have their crazies, and the other person told me I should be careful saying "both sides" because its something far right people use. They were being dead serious lol

They're like brick walls in conversation. Nothing gets through to them and they're completely oblivious to how they sound. I've got a coworker who's a nice guy, but peak redditor. He literally looks like the neckbeard wojak. He started prying into my politics the other day and I steered away from it. It was pretty clear I wasn't a leftist though. He starts making comments about how some people have their side because of how they feel about abortion or something, but they don't actually know what the politicians are doing. It was the most annoyingly condescending crap I've heard in a while. Like he thought I didn't want to get into politics with him because I'm uneducated or don't know what's going on in the world. It's like, no, we're grown adults who need to work with each other, and as much as I typically get along well with the guy, he doesn't strike me as bright.

How fucking condescending, too. They act like they're saving you from yourself and enlightening you. Like you're supposed to say "oh my, I would never want to sound like one of them. Thank you ever so much!"
