So I actually have sympathy for this person. Basically these are people whose brains tell them they are the gender opposite of their body. You have to admit you never "decided" to feel like the man/woman you are- the feeling was just completely there for you, fully formed . So there exist people where the two do not match- the brain and the sex.

The worst part is they're being led to believe that, by "educating' people, they can be desired. That's NEVER going to happen and leading them to believe it can through some Marxist type struggle session on the part of everyone in society is cruel in the extreme.

They can be accepted, but not desired. To be desired, they have to find somone to whom they are desirable. Most gay men don't want a female body. Neither do they want a female body which has been operated on to look like a male. They want another man and his natural body. Same goes for all directions in all forms of reversal- straight men straight women lesbian women etc.

To the person who wrote this- Look, if people are so flexible as you require them to be about what they're attracted to, why don't YOU change YOURSELF to be attracted to men as a straight woman? What? That's not your authentic self ? That's not your authentic desire? That's not who you feel youself to be? Well, welcome to the club.

I acknowledge this can be real, not something they did to themselves out of some weird desire (in most cases at least) to be different . It's easy to imagine that the brain gets printed one way for one reason or another and the body is another way. OK. I don't hate them but there's no way in HELL I'm going to date them just like there's no way in HELL I'm going to fall in love with my car's exhaust pipe. It's not the thing I am looking for and that has NOTHING to do with culture any more than your belief you're a trans was imposed on you by culture.

You can save youself a lot of heartache and not expose yourself to these situations. This is something we all learn. There are whole classes of people- taller, prettier, slimmer, smarter, the list goes on and on, whom we desire but who do not desire us and we just have to suck it up and learn to live with it. Sexual rejection is a basic experience of life EVERYONE experiences, and yes, it makes you want to cry.

All I can say is there's someone out there for everyone because just the way you were born with a mismatched brain and body so also is there someone out there who was born with unusual tastes in partners.

But aside from that, you know what? Thre's more to life than romance (not that you were looking for romance at a gay orgy...). People who die virgins live incredibly fulfilled lives and contribute to society in spectacular ways. The richness and meaning to be found in life is not about who you partner with or even if you partner at all.

Just ask Sir Isaac Newton.

Basically these are people whose brains tell them they are the gender opposite of their body.

And there are tomboys that have been told by sick depraved sociopaths that this is what they really are and they end up destroying their lives because they weren't interested in Barbies and liked things their dad and brothers did.

[–]AsInBeer 33 insightful - 1 fun33 insightful - 0 fun34 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Oh yes the approach towards children by transactivist is completely predatory and sick and needs to be crushed totally, absolutely and without pity. That is exactly right. See save James for a mother who appears to have Munchhausens By Proxy disease and has found a judge willing to give her the control over her child James that she craves so she can act out her disease.

Basically these are people whose brains tell them they are the gender opposite of their body.

No, the gender cult tells them that. Their brain knows the truth full well which is why she needs constant external validation. The need for that constant validation then turns her into a narcissistic homophobe.

The vast majority of women now with gender dysphoria have RODG, which means they never questioned their gender during childhood, it came on rapidly during their teenage years. This is mostly due to social contagion, notice she has that zealot friend pushing her to go further all the time. Notice she says she's never felt dysphoria this bad before, these women and girls usually only start feeling major dysphoria after they transition. The supposed cure causes the illness.

[–]ISaidWhatISaid 11 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The vast majority of women now with gender dysphoria have RODG

There is a surge in butch-looking women with ROGD wanting to transition because these are ugly, unfeminine women who think they might have a better shot at life as good-looking feminine men (only for a first few years anyway, after the first 10 years the testosterone makes them look like over-the-hill exhausted burned-out old men).

[–]AsInBeer 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

In some cases it's a sort of cult of gender dysphoria. But people like this have existed for a long, long time, so even if there's a big uptick in this gender tehory bullshit, so it's not JUST that.

I agree with your observations, but for any individual case, you just can't know. I took this person at face value, as we all should do for each other.

We have to all react to the extremism by becoming MORE subtle, nuanced, thoughtful and creative. Don't let the Left pull you down into the shit-pit of absolutism and Manichean thinking because that's where escalation occurs and if WE escalate then WE lose sympathy and the public opinion.

But even beyond that, yes, this person coudl be an exemplar of modern gender theory. But like I said, it's at least possible that they actually are NOT that thing and it's what I posted - someone with a biologically-based condition. It that case Christianity teaches us to have compassion. Since we can't know, we have to err on the side of compassion, always, even non Christians or atheists. It's about making enough space between strongly felt emotions and reactions for civilization.

[–]jet199 24 insightful - 1 fun24 insightful - 0 fun25 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

But people like this have existed for a long, long time, so even if there's a big uptick in this gender tehory bullshit, so it's not JUST that.

Any evidence for that?

I personally was a gender non conforming child who told everyone I wanted to be a boy when I grew up and was terrified of becoming a woman with all that entails. I got cured at puberty like 93% of gnc kids. Now looking back I was nothing like a boy, I had no boy's brain, I just didn't fit in with girls so I thought I had to put myself in the other box.

I have actual experience of this thinking and know what it's like from the inside, I don't have to trust what other people are saying.

However if you look at people's actions rather than just their words it's quite clear that trans women still act like men and trans men still act like women even though they claim to have the brain of the opposite sex. Gender clinics even have to have classes to teach people how to act, speak and walk like their preferred gender. That wouldn't be necessary if they were born with a female or male brain, you would do those things instinctively.

[–]AsInBeer 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Right I hope you didn't misunderstand what I was saying. I was tleling the other poster that even if gender dysphoria is experiecing a big uptick right now because of Universities, it's not JUST that- it's also real for some people....

[–]jet199 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Nope, the gender dysphoria they suffer is the same but the paths people take to get there are different because it's not inborn, it's due to how personalities interact with society.

[–]AsInBeer 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And you acquired this certain knowledge through what means may I ask?

[–]Uranian 40 insightful - 5 fun40 insightful - 4 fun41 insightful - 5 fun -  (2 children)

I don't have much sympathy for someone so narcissistic she thought she'd be welcome at a gay male sex party despite having a female body.

[–]AsInBeer 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

But we're all narcissists in the beginning, right? We only develop out of that gradually. I don't know why some people seem to be so slow in doing that. I do think the current culture retards or arrests it. But the world is as it is and this person is what they are. We have to choice but to try to work with the people as we find them; there is no second Earth to fly off to.

[–]Uranian 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

As does she, and whining about how homosexual men don't find her sexually attractive would be a good place to start.

[–]yousaythosethings 22 insightful - 1 fun22 insightful - 0 fun23 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Transsexualism was generally about being more comfortable presenting as the opposite sex not about them actually being the opposite sex. And certainly these heterosexual teen girls with rapid onset gender dysphoria don’t believe that they are actually men. They just want to be men and to be seen as men, or even more so, they don’t want to be seen as and treated as women. That’s why they are so fragile because their identity is a house of cards and they know it. This whole sex denialism shit is new.

[–]jet199 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yep, they can't think they are men because the clearly have no idea what men are, as seen in the screen grab.

Male sexuality is completely alien to her. She says they look like deer in headlights ffs, us grown ups know what's thing on there but it's all a big mystery to her.

[–]VirgilGriff 21 insightful - 1 fun21 insightful - 0 fun22 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

To the person who wrote this- Look, if people are so flexible as you require them to be about what they're attracted to, why don't YOU change YOURSELF to be attracted to men as a straight woman?

I dont feel like a man or a woman. I just feel like me. Gender identity doesn’t exist.

[–]ISaidWhatISaid 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Gender identity doesn’t exist.

I wish we lived in a society where gender didn't matter but unfortunately everyone is obsessed with their gender. I think it's because of narcissism and people being more visible and judgemental than ever. I don't believe feminininity or masculinity is inherent. I think people have behaviours that overtime became associated with the stereotypical man or woman because people found those behaviours useful or pleasant, so they stereotyped them.

[–]Coconaut 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think gender identity is real, but gender expression is real. we choose how to present ourselves and how to behave so people see us in a certain light, man or woman or masculine or feminine. Basically, gender is cosplay.

[–]AsInBeer 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

OK but not true for everyone. I feel like what I am. So do most people. Being the sex you are is a big part of who we are.

[–]Questionable 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

"So I actually have sympathy for this person."

I don’t. And everything you've said past that point is irrelevant.

Let me tell you what is relevant. They were attending a sex party. Don’t attend sex parties kids. The people you find in these places are not kind. These people are not your friends. Best case scenario is you get fu͖͉̖̦̼ͭ̀̑̎͛̅ͅcked like a piece of meat by someone you don’t know. Maybe you'll be offered some drugs to make the experience better for you. These people do not care about you. I think it's better off, that she ended up crying in a bathroom, and not fucked by a bunch of sociopaths she didn't know. Don’t attend sex parties kids! Especially in the age of social media where everyone around you is holding a camera!

"All I can say is there's someone out there for everyone because just the way you were born with a mismatched brain and body so also is there someone out there who was born with unusual tastes in partners.

Nothing you've said here is relevant to attending a gay sex party. You are more detached from reality, than the U.S economy is from the current financial markets. Stop spewing feel good nonsense. You are helping no one.

You made the whole point about attending a gay sex party, not me and not the author. This perosn'a point was his sexual rejection (at a gay sex party ...lol...). So we're focusing onn two different thnigs.

Gay sex parties have been with us continually since Rome, at least. It's a male-sex-drive meets male-sex-drive construct.

Believe me, if beautiful women were into sex parties (they're not for the most part), you'd have the exact same heterosexual behavior amongst young straight men.

I think you can intuit how that might be the case....

Finally, Newton famously died a virgin, so it's directly relevant.

[–]Questionable 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Nothing you have just said is relevant to that individuals account of events. Starting with your lack of an ability to discern my statement 'sex party' to yours "gay sex party", and culminating on your pointless knowledge of Isaac Newton's sex life.

If you wish to know more on this topic. Just ask Taylor Swift.

Ask her a̯̪̱̝̙̭̰ͬͪ̇͑̋ͪ̑bout Rome. Specifically.

Right. Let me clear this up for you. I broke down the events to there objective core elements, and pointed out the relevant factors. Where as you allowed yourself to become lost in the minutiae of the event, which led you to write a long string of drivel. And now you are outright slandering me, because of your prejudiced mindset, where you think or feel you can make assumptions about those who you take ill with.

"Also, very famous fact about Newton. You just weren't previously aware of it is all."

Here we have a prime example of your inability to express yourself. For some reason you think a random thought that crossed your mind was relevant, and in no way needed to be parsed or introduced into the topᴉc. And now you are patting yourself on the back for 'knowing something'. Be it something that was irrelevant, and you were incapable of interjecting into the conversation properly. But whatever. [–]Chipit[S] 2 insightful - 7 fun2 insightful - 6 fun3 insightful - 7 fun -  (17 children)

Subjectivity is valuable because people's lived experiences are valuable - because people's spoken truths are, in and of themselves, truths. Glorifying objectivity in social justice debates can not only be counter-productive, but really oppressive. See here for a better explanation

[–]AsInBeer 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I understand that. My reply is of course subjectivity is valuable, in fact, subjectivity is always being addressed when we talk about objectivity because when you're stuck in your subjectivity you distort reality. We celebrate objectivity precisely because it takes us out of the descending / distorting spiral of loneliness and solipicism and self aggrandizement / self debasement that subjectivity leads people down into. Einstein called science a refuge from the mrely personal (paraphrasing). That's what objectivity is. It takes effort effort to raise yourself out of the easy-mud of just being a child who wants what they want because they want it in the way they want it.

The objective reality I am referring to is other people's preferences- specifically people want what they want and notn something else you're selling. It's not possible to "train" them out of it and it's not your or anyone else's place to even try.

The Left decries "gay therapy" but seeks to sell this guy on the idea that not just "trans-acceptance" but "trans-desirability" is something achievable.

Most people are born desiring what they desire and you're not going to change them. You can guilt them, shame them, harrass them, pester them, lecture them, preach to them, but you're not going to change them any more than society changed gays when it was illegal to even be gay. They went on merrily desiring each other and not women.

And that's the way it is. That's objective reality.

[–]yousaythosethings 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

None of this is about “lived experience.” What is this girl’s “lived experience” as a gay man? Gaytrending isn’t about some subjective “truth.”

“People’s spoken truths are truths?” Let me introduce you to narcissistic personality disorder and other Cluster B personality disorders. See also Donald J. Trump. With the personality-disordered and especially narcissists, emotions and feelings create their “reality.” Their “truth” is whatever they need it to be in that very moment without any regard for logic or consistency. They truly believe it because they need it to be true. Based on their “logic,” they can know your motivations and your own “truth” better than you.

We should in no way be enabling this and other antisocial tendencies, much less codifying it into law. The worst thing you can do for someone with a personality disorder is to enable and coddle them. It’s cruel, destructive, and unsustainable for them and for everyone else.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Lived experience is the primary way in which knowledge can be obtained. Have you heard of Michel Foucault’s idea that knowledge is always culturally contingent and thus a function of power? That is, knowledge is something local to a particular people at a particular time, and it is just politics by a particular means.

You still operating comfortably within privilege and unaware of it due to internalized dominance. This is nothing but straight-adjacent language.

[–]CCwind 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

How do you respond to someone that has studied Foucault's work and found him to take a small idea and expands it to preposterous conclusions in contradiction of all other evidence? The observation that culture plays a role in how we interact with and describe the collected knowledge isn't nearly enough reason to write out the possibility of objective and universally applicable knowledge. By impugning the motives of anyone asserting some bit of knowledge, Foucault splits the potential for discussion into those who arguing from within a Foucaultian framework or a framework that accepts the existence of knowledge completely independent of who is expressing it, but not both.

You still operating comfortably within privilege and unaware of it due to internalized dominance. This is nothing but straight-adjacent language.

If you are going to summarily dismiss arguments on the basis of assumptions you make about the other person and the judging their language to be summarily invalid, then I hope you are ready to be dismissed just as easily.

ETA: if you are actually trolling, I'll tip my hat to your success.

What an absolute crock of feels over reals nonsense. None of that rings true for anyone who is not a psychopath.

Objective rational reality is ALL that matters.

As PK Dick said, 'Reality is that which when you close your eyes remains'.

'Oppressive'. Please do me a favour.

' Because people's spoken truths are, in and of themselves, truths.'

Truth ONLY to them. Does not make it real or a fact or objective. Schizophrenics personal truths have them hearing voices and imagining people that do not exist. Should we validate those 'feelings' as well? Or treat them as they should be treated? As nothing but an apparition of the mind.

A disorder. Nothing more.

You cannot change objective reality with feelings. Ever.

[–]Chipit[S] 2 insightful - 4 fun2 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 4 fun -  (8 children)

Knowledge is socially constructed and the result of political processes, and therefore objective truth is unattainable and irrelevant except in that some people make unjustified claims upon having access to it. These unjustified claims create a form of hegemonic dominance that needs to be deconstructed and dismantled through manipulations within the discourses at the level of the meanings of ideas.

[–]CheesyPeas 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

'Knowledge is socially constructed'

Yet more complete nonsense. So science is not evidence based then? But somehow a magical fairy comes down and creates it? Knowledge is based on experimentation and observed and measured results.

You are a bell end mate.

'These unjustified claims create a form of hegemonic dominance that needs to be deconstructed and dismantled through manipulations within the discourses at the level of the meanings of ideas.'

Word salad. Does not mean a thing. Are you trying to be an academic? This kind of meaningless claptrap goes down well in those circles.

Would you like to make some arguments? I have heard none from you. Just bigotry. Which is odd, considering you come off as an anti-bigot. How did this happen?

    [–]Uranian 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

And you are a homophobe and a moron. Now fuck off

    [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's not an argument. That's an insult. I bet you didn't even watch the video which explains it all clearly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5GYlZKfBmI

You heard him, lesbians. Better get used to that feminine dick or you're a cissexist and a transphobe.

    [–]yayblueberries 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You act like that's something new and unique and that no lesbian has ever heard that before. Fucking false. Lesbians have been forced to accept dick since the beginning of time, there is nothing more hated in society still than a lesbian because men are rapists.

Lol, imagine being this ridiculously deluded. It's not like anyone even needs research to prove it's bullshit, just compare how gays and lesbians have been treated by law "since the beginning of time". Unfortunately it requires at least a double-digit IQ, so it's out of reach for a typical "REEE women most affected" feminist.

    because men are rapists.

I said "deluded"? I meant deranged.

Your response was actually kind and balanced.

He set himself up for failure, no one can make other people desire them, and even more unappealing it gets when they are bullied for it e.g. transphobic. That too only 2 months into transition.

I think it's best to keep the identity clear that they are trans and live a happy life without entitlements, people who like them will do so naturally.

    Sir Isaac Newton

he was a fraud who claimed davinci and others work as his own...

The universal theory of gravity was di Vinvci huh? And calculus?

    [–]iraelmossadreddit 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

google for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and newtons law of motion comes up and says he said it but davinci said that hundreds of years earlier in a notebook...they all had access to his other notebooks. some that are still secret. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a hidden or lost book where he invented calculs too.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leibniz%E2%80%93Newton_calculus_controversy

there are also some indians where they had missionarries that claim they invented calculus hundreds of years earlier. hes also accused of fraud on other things like Hooke claimed Newton's theory of light and color was stolen from ideas he produced 7 years earlier (in 1665)

The Newton Leibniz dispute is famous. There is no way divinvi invented calculus because it itself was dependent on certain recent advances in math and notation. Saying there is X, even if that is true and I am not aware that it is, is far far different than proving it is true mathematically, quantifiying it and then using that development to prove that it appiles to everything from planets to apples, not to mention the notations and proofs. If davinci had done this, he'd have told people and used it.

Davinci was great. Sure he was. But anyway the pointof myu post was not to examine far off theories about Newton's relatve contributions. Peace/.

He got that from gallileo who may or may not have got it from davinci. Also the modern conception of calculus doesn't look like newtons version and it doesn't look like any hindu version.
