You asked for it. 75-150 cattle depending on the time of year, 6 goats, 4 horses, a donkey, a clan of evil barn cats, 2 (soon to be 3) dogs, some laying hens, and a pig that hates me that came to live with us when my grandpa passed and the pig husband I found her so she wouldn’t be alone. I love the donkey the most.

Is cattle counts as pets? As if they do, during time I had caucasian shepherd dog, I had around two dozens of rabbits, two dozens of hens, and two goats.

I would say there there’s a few that I have have that I count as a pet. The kids in my family come over and ride them.

I never have ride any animal. Horses afraid of me, for some reason.

Hahahaha usually people say that they are afraid of the horses.

I am not sure I can fear something anymore :D

If you’re hesitant with them they will be hesitant with you. It’s actually quite therapeutic working with a 1000lb mirror of how you’re feeling in the moment.

Is the pig a lesbian? Maybe she’s a late-bloomer. Do you think that’s why she hates her husband? Is that in the comphet list? Lol

So if you love the donkey that makes you an ass-woman.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

I call her a straight up MFing dick pig. She’s loved her hubby until I got his testicular issue resolved, now she doesn’t want anything to do with him, poor guy.

And this face would turn anyone into an ass-woman https://imgur.com/a/EvxGFtJ

My goodness! That sounds so sweet, that’s the kind of life I wanted when I was little growing up. Do you mind if I ask if this is a family trade or did you develop your own Ranch (or Farm)?

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

It was a family thing. I did manage to escape it for about 8 years but it dragged me back in.

[–]It-Do-Be-Like-That[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I’m not sure about the circumstances but that doesn’t sound good, I’m sorry. I hope all is well for you now.

It’s totally ok. When I officially took it over I sold the original land it was on and relocated everything to a larger property with better grazing options to reduce operation and feed cost. It created a lot more work then I thought it would, but luckily my friends and family all came together and we pounded out the big projects in about a week. I’m more then likely the last person in my family to do this for a living, and that’s the only thing that bothers me.

Right now I have 3 young cats. One is black with white and orange dots, other is white with black and orange dots and last one is grey with dark grey stripes.

Before them I had huge cat (150 cm from tail to nose - almost my size! And ginger, just like me), she was forest cat + maine coon breed, so bigger than maine coon on average. She was very-very smart and she really loved me and was very supporting. Sadly, she died at the age of 10 from cancer. I can infinitely speak about her, she was so smart and did so many nice things!

Before that I was living in house and had a dog - caucasian shepherd. He was twice my size. So huge! He was the kindest dog I've ever saw.

Before that I had aquarium with few fishes. There were few different guppy and one golden fish.

Before that I had parrot, not for long. I left it with my ex-husband after divorce, when I was not able to turn myself to "straight".

Before that my father had a doberman. That doberman was eating much better food than myself, as father was buying some meat to that dog, while we were eating pigeons caught by father (we were very-very poor right before USSR crashed and few years after). So I did not liked that doberman much, mostly from being envy.

And before that we had cats too, but I was too small to remember.

I used to have a friend with three Leonbergers - massive but soft and daft as a brush.

Leonbergers are a bit smaller and less hairy versions of caucasian shepherd dogs. Still really huge ones! And I think they are living 3-5 years less too on average.

Sadly I have no photos of myself with that dog, as I am 158 cm tall and 49 kg, while that dog was around 85 kg and ~82 cm tall, 120 cm long (with tail). Me walking with that dog around was looking very weird :D

Not sure why she is saying that strong will (even tho I have one) is needed to have this dog, they are really kind breed, they love kids (unlike most other big dogs) and very protective of all family members and friends of ownder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xHzjwiVGew&t=2m

Edit: Actually I see, why it is said about good training. Seems it is very unfriendly to anyone they don't know and who is showing in their eyes any threat to the owner. And because I have very few friends or visitors, it was fine to me. Nice shot I found in internet: https://i.imgur.com/4adbnVa.png

I love cats! Are they in the kitten stage or the kitty teenager stage? Also if I might just add, it’s so awesome you’ve had a Maine Coon/Forest Cat Mix, they look so regal and I’ve read wonderful things about them.

[–]VioletRemi 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

One is 8 years, two I don't know age, but they are around 1.5-2 years now.

I have no pets at the moment (rented accomodation) but growing up I had six Border Collies and three cats so I love pets. If I got a dog in the future it would ideally be a couple of Border Collies (they can get lonely) or some other medium sized dog. No offense meant to those who love them but I can't stand tiny yappy dogs - I know a few lesbians with Chihuahuas (is this a sterotype?) and it is so hard to say how lovely their dog is.

At a previous flat there was an abandoned cat and she was the sweetest, most loving cat you've ever seen. We weren't allowed to take her inside but it was winter so we built her a little cardboard box/blanket hut in the front garden and got her some food and she was so happy... until the landlord came round furious about it and made us take it all down.

    13 cats? Wow!

All my current cats I took from streets too, one of them was dying after dog attack as kitten (her leg was almost torn off, now it is working well and in tact), and needed surgery, two others had some diseases. I was not able to pass by.

Oh what a bundle of joy and you're doing some fantastic work.
Your post reminded me of this comic.

Birds are great! Green Cheek Conures are adorable.

I have one cat. But my housemate is a serial animal rescuer, so there's actually a whole menagerie here. Two cockatiels, a budgie, two snakes, a tarantula, and most recently two under-socialised guinea pigs my housemate is hoping to tame down. My cat isn't keen on other cats, but luckily she doesn't mind the menagerie, lol.

Yes! I love Green Cheeks because they are tiny with the big personality of a larger parrot.

It’s so awesome that you and your roommate are helping animals. And also your cat is an MVP for being so tolerant!

I have a golden retriever! He's 10 months old so he's pretty crazy due to being in full swing of dog puberty lmao - fortunately he recently became confident at swimming so it's a lot easier to tire him out now by taking him to a river or lake. He's really sweet though

    [–]Innisfree 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Golden retrievers are just pure love (and just a bit of a hassle).

There's this film "The Lobster" - the plot is that single people must find a mate within 45 days or be turned into an animal of their choice. I think a golden retriever would be an excellent choice! :)

i have 3 cats. i got scout 16 years ago when i graduated from nursing school. she provided me a lot of comfort when i'd come home from work crying when things went wrong. i found angel 5 years ago when i was walking out of the hospital after my shift. she was a newborn and still had her umbilical cord. i waited to see if her mom would come back for her but she didn't so i brought her home. and rin showed up on my deck 2 years ago. 3 totally different personalities.

i have a 6 toed brown tabby cat named Trouble/Izzy (but only actually responds to "kitty"). i have a furry nephew that i call Ghostface, but his name is Casper and he's a 3 year old maltese. i have another furry nephew that i call Link but his name is Jameson and he's a 1 year old german shepherd. when this is all over and i move, i'm going to get a pitbull and probably name it something equally funky as the others.
