Lol in the thumbnail, the trans flags look a little like that swastika version of the TQ+ flag.

Rosie is a transwoman and a lesbian who is devoted to her wife of 25 years

Love being lectured at by a middle-aged straight man about what female homosexuality is. vomit

This is one of the questions that drives me up the wall when it comes to TQ+ insanity; would a cis woman and a transwoman getting married be a gay marriage? If so, why were they able to get married long before same-sex marriage was legal in the US??

It's soooo offensive!! We JUST got the right to be married less than a decade ago :(

Everyone knows what a gay person is when they want to shame, oppress or brutalize us. Everyone knows what gay sex is when they wanna mock us or dehumanize us or minimize our relationships. All these people wanna be 'oh so gay' til it's time to actually do gay things, then they pretend they don't know wtf homosexuality is.

we chat to former Staff Pride Network Co-Chair and Trans & Non-Binary Officer Rosie about what lesbian visibility means to her

Does it matter what Rosie thinks about lesbian visibility? He's not a lesbian.

Note how Rosie gets "lesbian" while Cara (the actual lesbian) gets "cis lesbian". It's a neat little linguistic trick they've managed to pull off there. "Don't complain about being called cis. It's just the opposite of trans", then they pull the old switcharoo and suddenly they're the women and it's the actual women who get a signifier.

Also isn't transwoman meant to be a no no word? Don't they always bitch about putting the space, because otherwise you're implying they aren't a "type" of woman?

before becoming a trans rights activist, one must become proficient in apologizing profusely. it's not a question of when you'll slip up and do something truly evil like forget the space in "trans woman," but when. You must repent.

A while ago, someone stuck a sticker onto a lamp pole near my place that says "L with the T" and it seems to be one from this network, judging by the colours and design of their logos.

I'm genuinely tempted to grab a black marker and scribble over it, honestly.

Edit: I tried to find the exact same one online and it turns out the one on the lamp pole is from a German university. My point still stands though.

Rosie is a transwoman and a lesbian who is devoted to her wife of 25 years...

Two women couldn't get married in 1997 though. Rosie is a privileged heterosexual man throwing it in our faces.

Same-sex marriage is legal in all parts of the United Kingdom. As marriage is a devolved legislative matter, different parts of the UK legalised at different times; it has been recognised and performed in England and Wales since March 2014, in Scotland since December 2014, and in Northern Ireland since January 2020.

Wow: these "ladies" really do not pass at all. I don't know who they think they're fooling.
