It seems kind of odd that LGB people have been well-documented throughout all of civilization, but trans people have only been around since the mid-twentieth century with a major uptick in the past decade. It’s almost like the former group is a naturally occurring phenomenon and the latter isn’t.

They have solved this problem by transing every strong female historical figure: Marie Curie, Joan of Arc, all the female authors who published under a male name, all Viking women. If history doesn't feature your cult, just rewrite history.

The Joan of Arc thing makes me really angry. She saw herself being a woman as central to being chosen by God. (A woman arising from the marshes of Lorraine was a popular belief in France during her lifetime.) Just because she preferred “men’s” clothes (which were basically just leggings) and wasn’t afraid to fight, doesn’t make her trans.

Jeanne d'Arc was wearing "feminine" cloths by todays standarts, but those were "masculine" cloths back then. So it is even more weird with their own description of femininity and masculinity.

JK Rowling published under men's name too, so her books are taken seriously. I guess she is trans now and all attacks on her are just transphobia.

You joke, but I've seen some people speculate that JKR is secretly trans and all her criticism of extreme trans activism is just internalized transphobia. An incredibly niche conspiracy theory, but one that just shows how far the denial goes in some of them.

But remember, being trans doesn't have anything to do with how feminine or masculine someone is <insert eyeroll>.
