How are separate categories reflecting a “hierarchy?” The hierarchy will be reflected once the distinct categories are removed. Women’s recognition in the film industry is legendary levels of bad even when there is ample talent and excellent work being done.

So how do they purport to even talk about these issues now, much less attempt to rectify them? On the other hand, it will surely peak a lot of people, especially women, when the “first woman to do X” is a trans woman over and over, Martine Rothblatt style.

We need to stop pandering to the idiotic whims of these super special unique extraordinary men and women. By "we" I mean any and every organization that jumps aboard the Woke Train whenever some nobody feels like their precious feelings were hurt. It's tiring, useless and at worst, actually harmful.

The Brit awards did this.

The awards straight after the change had nearly all male nominations.
