In English I know it is fine to say like that (I still prefer to call women as women, thought, and transwomen as transwomen, instead of female for women and women for "everyone"), but I was speaking about our language. In our language it does, because we have special word for sex for humans, and different one for animals. And in general we have a lot of such words that are same for all animals, but for humans there special word, like "human is above animal instincts". So calling either man or woman with that is considered as very rude, almost like just calling someone "a cattle". And we have no words for gender at all. That is why in our country people were very sceptical about transgenders, until american trans lobby poured a ton of money into our trans groups and they started promoting transitioning as "fix for gay people" (and country is mildly homophobic in big cities and very homophobic in small cities), so they are more accepted now.
