It seems to me that the objective has little if anything to do with security from terror threats. In the context where progressives ridicule the valuation of freedom as an extremist right-wing thing and a recent era of medical tyranny psychological operation, TSA exploits are theater meant to impress on an ignorant and terrified population that the groping and bullying are necessary for safety.

The theater could also be meant to make travel seem more dangerous than it is as well as pushing the climate alarmist claim that it's killing the planet. Expressing your sentiments to the authorities will only convey to them that it's working and they will probably double down.

Oh, I'm not expecting the authorities to just give up, not if they don't have to. But, there may be ways of compelling them to retreat, that are perfectly legal, and perfectly consistent with normal democratic procedures. Possibly, some theater could be developed that would have the same effects on the authorities, that they're trying to have on us! Any thoughts, at all, along these lines?

Because it is all in the name of keeping you safe and the sheep always want to feel safe even though they aren’t even close to understating how unsafe they are. Just ask the big cities and now apparently, all Jews and Gaza as well. Those pat downs cost money and money is what big government loves to spend just so the sheep feel safe.

[–]passionflounder 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

sheep always want to feel safe

They are not taught that they themselves have a pivotal role in their own safety, and not an authority who will inevitably abuse the power given to them.

This is simple human nature. It is not a uniquely political thing.

Actually, I think the vast majority of Americans are well aware that this is almost entirely total bureaucratic BS. But, they seem unclear on what exactly they can do about it. So, what exactly should they do about it? That, I believe, is the real question here.

Surely, there's some way to make the case that waste of this type is precisely what's destroying the U.S. economy. Isn't there some public relations angle of that type that might be effective, and persuasive, here?

Texas has been using Real ID since 2016. It didn't change anything for the end user. IDs came through the mail before the change also. I see that as a non-issue.

The TSA is pretty much just a jobs program at this point. It employs 50k people with a budget of $10bn. I don't think we can just fire 50k people. Maybe we should train them to build and repair bridges instead. They can ensure the transportation security of cars on bridges next. Lateral move.

You are such an optimist. Not that I'd expect people to often say that to you.

These people like power, not hard work.

Although Texas has Real ID and mails them most of the time, they are still available same day, on site, if you really need them that way. In many of the smaller states, there's no possibility of doing this at all, because they either are subcontracting their production out of state, or the feds have them so spooked by the possibility of retaliation, that they're refusing to let their citizens anywhere near the ID production facilities, or even letting them know where they are! The bigger states, of course, can't be so easily intimidated.

Could passive resistance of this type somehow be implemented and applied to the aspect of Real ID? Could some kind of passive resistance make it impractical to force people into using it? Any thoughts along these lines, at all?

[–]Drewski 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Well, getting a Real ID is still optional at this point. So I'd suggest not getting one.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I believe in many states currently, if you want any kind of State ID or driver's license at all, you have to get a real ID, and, in many of the smaller states, they won't let anyone near any of the facilities that actually produce these ID's. In the largest states, I believe people do still have the option of same day, on site pickup of State ID's and driver's licenses, if necessary, but, not in many of the smaller states. Indeed, for many of the smaller states, the process of producing driver's licenses and ID"s has been subcontracted entirely out of state.

I believe in many states currently, if you want any kind of State ID or driver's license at all, you have to get a real ID

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect and Real ID is optional in every state. If you can find any information to the contrary, please share it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OklahomaPolitics/comments/17k4d6v/how_can_we_persuade_oklahoma_to_make_drivers/

I posted this recently on reddit. It's perfectly accurate. No one in the state is disputing the facts of it.

[–]Drewski 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don't see anything there about Real ID being mandatory. From the Oklahoma.gov website: https://oklahoma.gov/service/popular-services/real-id-checklist.html

REAL IDs are Optional

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well, Real ID"s may be optional in the sense that you aren't required to have any ID or driver's license at all in the state of Oklahoma. However, there's no way to get any other kind of ID or driver's license in Oklahoma, and, they're all produced in Indiana and mailed in from out of state. This is simply an example of the state government of Oklahoma trying to soft pedal the fact that they're shoving Real ID"s down people's throats, as well as giving them no in state means of obtaining them. It's disinformation, actually. Does that make sense, now?

You can email SOK DLOverride DLOverride@service.ok.gov for a prompt response. They'll confirm that the ID's and driver's licenses are all mailed in from out of state.

Bro, TSA HJs are the only action some of us get. Quit cock blocking.

But for real, it's all a massive waste of time and money.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Sure. So, why can't we can't the Federal Congress to partially, or totally defund these total losers? They keep talking about wanting to save money all the time, so, why don't we eliminate this particular example of government waste?

[–]iDontShift 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

remind them 9/11 was an inside job

united states had the highest education index before 1976

1976 department of education formed.. now we are near the bottom

solutions are simple, remove the government oversight that is actually destroying us

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So, how can we arrange to have this government oversight removed, exactly? Any practical suggestions along these lines would be very much appreciated. To move in this direction, in any case, perhaps a step at a time.

[–]TheMaharishi 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

They simply want people to be afraid. So that they give up civil liberties easier. Remember you are being attacked on all fronts. Threats of physical violence AKA police military secret police. Emotional brainwash trannyfaggery etc. Mental brainwash study hard and pay tax until you're almost dead. Religious brainwash churches priests etc, when God needs no house and nobody to speak for him/it.

The underlying agenda of everything. Is power and control over the slave class AKA anyone paying tax. So they can play war, have harems and enjoy whatever luxury they fancy,.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Agreed. So, any thoughts about how we can turn the tables on them, and make them afraid, for a change?

[–]UncleWillard56 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

I think we're worrying about the wrong entrance/exit. Put those bitches down at the border.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Agreed. And, any thoughts about how this could be arranged, exactly?

[–]UncleWillard56 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Change of uniform. You're now border agents. Put that same energy you put into stealing out of people's suitcases into weeding out the very rare asylum seeker who meets that actual rules.

[–]jerryk[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

More specifically. How can we actually get the federal government to do this, for real? Not just as a fanciful notion, but actually persuade them to take this action, as you describe it. How can appropriate pressure be put on the feds to implement the necessary changes. I think that's what has everyone mystified. How exactly do you get the government to do the right thing for a change?

[–]UncleWillard56 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I wish I knew the answer. Seems like they abandoned logic and safety long ago. Even the fentanyl and terrorism boogeymen don't seem to be phasing them. My hope is that a) the Dems will be voted out and b) we'll take a page out of Sweden's book and attack the problem from an economic angle. Problem is, so many illegals get through, how do you even track them? The only thing I can think of is changing the laws regarding illegal entry. One of these days, some Hamas fucker is going to sneak across the border and do something to wake us up on border security. Make entering illegal a terrorist act and try them under those laws. Either that, or do what Trump did and put the onus on Mexico to stop them at their Southern border.

Really they need to racially profile, like who is likely to be a hijacker? A muslim man. But in USA woke people whine about that. But yeah if you're not going to do that you need to check everyone's asshole to see if boxcutters are up there.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

They don't in Israel. They don't in Russia. They don't in China. Why, exactly, do they have to do it here? You really think all Muslims look so different from ordinary Americans? Really? Why, exactly?

[–]William_World 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

you don't know what they do in other countries

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

Sure I do. I know plenty of Israelis, and, they wouldn't put up with this kind of nonsense, their security is real security, it's not just about making money!

[–]William_World 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

you've never been to israel. I dare you to try to go there with a boxcutter up your ass. And yes you can tell a muslim by looking at them.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

No, you can't tell Muslims by looking at them, that's completely ridiculous, it's just a religion. I've never been to Israel, but, these days, box cutters would certainly not allow anyone to hijack an airplane, they'd be gang-tackled by the entire flight if they tried to hijack it. Things have changed a bit since 911. The U.S., Australia and New Zealand have stricter airport security than Israel, or anywhere else in the world, you can confirm that online. Israeli security is better than U.S. security because their security is more competent.

[–]William_World 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

nah they're obvious sorry

yeah go to israel and spout your liberal woke views to the muslims

"Indeed, if anyone tried to hijack an American airline these days with an AK-47, they'd be beaten to death by the passengers!"

utterly retarded

You sure are, buddy! But, thanks for the idea. Idiots like you give me terrific material! Got any other brilliant insights I can use for comic relief?
