I saw you jumped in here and were able to help out:

https://saidit.net/s/debatealtright/comments/5eeg/help_with_bitchute_videos_that_stall/kui3

What exactly was the issue with the video?

And how does your extension work?

Great work, thanks!

    Killer, thanks for the explanation.

I also like that it just gives an easier way to get the direct link as opposed to bringing up the browser Dev Tools.

    Very cool. Thanks for fixing.

Hilarious fix. They should hire you. Maybe you can fix their search too!

Is there anyway you can add it to YouTube-DL and/or YouTube-DLG?

Also, I have a long wishlist of ideas I'd love to see improve YouTube-DLG that perhaps you might consider helping with, maybe, please? Not just for me, but all of humanity, and for the love of kittens.

BitChute has many issues, but the one that bugs me most is that their BitTorrent/WebTorrent rarely works and they don't provide a "download" button. I mention this because maybe those old servers are for torrents? Or maybe I'm just proving how ignorant I am in these matters.

Also, thank you for the addon.

One final request (if it's not too complicated): Auto-update option?

Kewl! I only thought of it as I was installing the new version with "download" to catch a few that don't work in YouTube-DLG for some reason(s). Works great by the way. Thanks. I guess the next one will be the last manual update then. At that point you might want to post in some of the video related subs. Ping me and I'll be sure to upvote all of them. /u/d3rr might like to know about it too. He's not only coded for SaidIt but also for PeerTube and has a PeerTube sight: /s/DownTheMemoryHole .

I have three suggestions if you're open to it and it's not too much trouble (I don't code, it's all magic to me).

            1) Download resolution options. Either have the options listed to chose from or a preference setting. (I always go for the biggest one for my archive.)

            2) Renaming settings. For example in my YouTube-DLG I set the name as:

            YouTube {%(uploader)s} '%(title)s' (%(upload_date)s) [%(resolution)s %(id)s].%(ext)s

            which results in something like:

            YouTube {Corbett Report Extras} 'A Bioterror False Flag' (20200403) [1280x720 vLf1B_qlEQo].mkv

Obviously the "YouTube" would become "BitChute" if it allowed me the option for a source. Also the date doesn't include dashes (for 2020-04-03).

            3) Would be neat if it could work on other sites besides just BitChute, but I understand there is no single perfect solution for the whole internet and adding features just adds more bloat and eventually will become a huge logistical challenge. Sometimes simplicity is better.

I understand if it's too much. These are just suggestions.

It's great that you're putting it on the Chrome store. That gives it more legitimacy (I think). Great stuff!

BitChute may have updated their code and broke your addon.

I've got this addon installed on my Brave and Waterfox but not on the old Pale Moon. Any chance it's adaptable?
