We had neighbors Friday night who got a little loud. My son was asking why the guy was crying (we didn't know there was a female companion until later). Yes. Nobody's perfect, but we can be perfect enough. I used to listen to a radio psychologist named Dr. Toni Grant way back in the 1990's or early 2000's. She had a saying about parenting. We don't have to be perfect parents. We only have to be perfect enough.

People are good at rationalization. Some of us can rationalize behavior in a way to avoid accountability. "Well, it's not hurting anyone." "Well, just this once. I'm always doing the right thing every other time." "Well, someone else would do it if I didn't." "Well, I'll take care of that tomorrow or next time." Then there are those few of us who abuse the trust of the rest to deceive. It's not a good investment to waste energy on them. Move on. I'm not saying people can't change, but in my experience, you or I can't change them.

[–]Zapped 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

One side of the blade or wing on an aircraft is flat and one side is curved. This forces the air across the curved side to speed up so that both sides reach the trailing edge at the same time (curved side has farther to travel to get there). This causes lower pressure and "pulls" the wing, propeller, rotor in the direction of the lower pressure (think vacuum). You can look up Bernoulli's Principle for more on how this works.

Windmill or Wind Turbine Theory by enginedeer007 in AskSaidIt

[–]Zapped 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A fan blade is not necessarily an airfoil. Propeller and rotor blades are designed for lift. They have a distinct shape to their profile.

Wind turbines generally work in places with maintained wind. If you live in a place with intermittent wind, there are wind turbines with a cylindrical shape that work better for that application.
