There is a record of when the alleged rape of the ex-girlfriend happened. Other accusations have come out (maybe due to the news story) and others have come out (even witnesses) about how Brand's behavior was known in the industry. That shows a pattern that backs up the claims.

I built a solar distiller for a for science class back in grade school, using wood, glass, and metal flashing. It was a slanted, 2-chamber style. Easy and cheap to make. Similar to this: https://www.offthegridnews.com/grid-threats/how-to-build-a-solar-powered-still-to-purify-drinking-water/ . The type used in OP's video would work in a survival situation if you could scavenge for the materials.

They had to pay for a semi-permanent environmental testing station kept on site. It may have also been able to pull some of the contamination out of the ground. It was there for at least 10 years.

I recently spoke at length with someone who holds dual citizenship with Armenia and Russia, but has permanent residency status in the U.S. The new information about the geopolitics in that region were eye-opening for me. Some of the things I learned:

  1. Russia is sort of the protector of Armenia, but sometimes has troops that kill Armenian soldiers in border clashes. With Azerbaijan now sending troops to help in the war in Ukraine, Russia has pretty much abandoned Armenia and is letting Azerbaijan do what they want in Armenia.
  2. There is a siege right now by Azerbaijan of a disputed area inhabited by ethnic Armenians where they are starving about 100,000 people.
  3. Iran is also a protecter of Armenia (probably the biggest).
  4. Armenia is the oldest Christian nation in the world.
  5. Water is free in Armenia and the order of people getting water at fountains is youngest to oldest.
  6. Rumor in Russia (even with all of the censoring and internet blocks) is that there will be another draft after the Russian elections next year.
  7. Russians generally consider Ukrainians "brothers" or "cousins", but generally Ukrainians have deep disdain for Russians, even if they don't agree with the Russian invasion.
  8. Chechnya's are some crazy, tough, fighting MF'ers.
  9. Turkey doesn't like Armenia, either, and is always a threat.

Volunteers or not, there is the draft and there is now talk of another. Truth. The draft is so needed that they are taking 60-year-olds and sending them to the front lines. If the war, or "special operations" (let's not call it a war, right?), is so popular, then why the need for a draft? Why has there been a crackdown on draft dodgers if there is no need? Does the signing bonus have anything to do with the volunteers signing up? Why has the internet been restricted and censored inside Russia?

That was pretty much what my acquaintance was saying is Putin's plan. Putin will increase the amount of draftees after the election to try and overwhelm Ukraine. It was enlightening listening to someone who has not been corrupted by the propaganda from either side. It seems that Putin is not popular but everyone in that region understands why a non-friendly military presence (or threat of one) so close to Moscow would cause this reaction from Russia.

The article you linked is from 2022, while the counter-offensive started in 2023. Ukraine may run out of troops, but, in my opinion, will not run out of munitions. The West can ramp up and meet production in a matter of months if needed. An acquaintance of mine who holds dual Armenian/Russian citizenship spoke to me of the election (as well as the geopolitics in that part of the world), but it was the Russian election coming up that may be holding back what Putin does in the next year.

I hear your points, but I can't imagine the West will allow Ukraine to run out of munitions, especially when they are counting on bleeding Russia's economy through this war as well as the sanctions in place until the war is over.

Has Russia used this mine-laying system on the Ukraine counter-offensive? They seeded the ground before the counter-offensive, but I haven't seen them in use since. It looks like the U.S. has sent M58 line-charge type mine-clearers. Noisy and easy to spot as they do their job.

Got to the 6:30 mark to see aerial footage of the battlefield. This is not the main defensive line, of course, but Ukraine was able to push the Russians out of these trenches, which are more fortified than what they have encountered so far. This Youtuber is Ukrainian and he speaks from the side of Ukraine, but he does report when Ukraine has significant loses and setbacks. If you watch the entire video, you will see that even he thinks Ukraine should be careful about pushing too hard at one spot along the line, or they may get too deep and risk being encircled. He even talks about how the Lancet drones have a 70% success rate and how Russia has been effective at jamming the communications of the Ukrainian drones.

I haven't seen how they are clearing the minefields, but they are there and Ukraine has been getting past them. The cluster munitions the U.S. sent over seem to be a game-changer at pushing the Russians back and stopping the counter-attacks, though. I'm still waiting for the annihilation of the Ukrainian forces by the Russian artillery. I remember it being a problem early in the war but Ukraine seems to be out-shelling the Russians now. This being a world-war by proxy now, I'm not sure how either side can win.

It says his claims are baseless and then lists what he found. It also says that Georgia allows people to ballot harvest, but it doesn't say that it is only for the disabled or cases of emergency and then only a close family member may turn the ballot in. In Arizona, a family member, household member, or caregiver are the only people allowed to turn in the ballot of another person. Otherwise, it is a class 6 felony.

Did you take before and after pictures of your old place? Some landlords will charge you a cleaning fee if you cleaned the place or not. In the U.S., they are not supposed to charge you for normal wear and tear, but you will have to take the to court (or at least threaten them) to get your deposit back. You are not responsible for "turning" your old apartment, meaning you should leave it clean out without damage, but you are not responsible for the final cleaning before the next tenant moves in. Vacumming, dusting, etc., is expected to be done by the landlord.

The point of the story is that Jack Smith, without whom there wouldn't have been a case brought to the grand jury, had an aide who met with staff from the Biden administration. Trump is currently Biden's main rival for the upcoming election. Jack Smith has a history of targeting Republican politicians as well as groups working against the interests of the DNC in the Lois Lerner / IRS scandal. Smith's wife is a Biden donor (as well as donating to other Democrat Party and progressive groups) and helped create a very favorable documentary on Michelle Obama.

Going to a game is more than the baseball and who it touching it at the time. It's about watching what the players on the field (and even in the dugout and bullpen) do during and in between pitches. There is always interesting stuff going on the stands and there are lots of pretty women who like going to baseball games. Have people always been this way in large numbers? Has society shunned this type of behavior until the 24-hour news cycle and instant social media became available? Have anonymous online meeting spots (even like Saidit) given the freedom to allow this kind of emotional reasoning, by way of "group think" from these spaces that has pushed the "normal" boundaries into in-person interactions? Did people like this always exist but were shunned from interacting with others until now? It has been said many times that Russia is a third world country masquerading as a first world country. People I have talked with who have traveled outside of Moscow while visiting Russia have confirmed this for me.

Not funny, but definitely professional. How large is your company? Is it just you?

You are supposed to be outraged that Trump's lawyers were ... invited to examine voting machines, which is somehow a data breach? by iamonlyoneman in politics

Improper chain of command? That's already been accepted with the 2020 election. This story contains no accusation of vote manipulation; only of looking at the equipment, software, and other tech. Otherwise, I agree with your assessment and opinion.

Is it that more people will vote for him or that more people are admitting their intent as a way of speaking out against the indictments?

Why Nerds are Unpopular. there is a strong correlation between being smart and being a nerd, and an even stronger inverse correlation between being a nerd and being popular. Being smart seems to make you unpopular. by Chipit in OpinionPieces

People can be smart AND socially aware, but it's hard to be socially aware and not smart, since that's a form of intelligence, too.

My boss in Oak Ridge was a lefty California import. I bought myself a sub machine gun at the local Class 3 Gun Shop and made the mistake of telling him. He was all butt hurt that I bought a gun and it was a machine gun. This was in 1985. He's dead now. by IkeConn in ButtHurt

The guys I heard these stories from were from Johnson City, but had relatives in that area.

The rural Appalachians don't have much to do besides hunting, drinking, and screwing, so......... Well, now there is the pill-popping and meth, too.

Dry rub without the mustard base then wrapped in foil. 12 hours on bottom rack at 200 degrees F. Foil opened and then brushed with BBQ sauce and broiled for 5 minutes. Fall off the bone.

I can't remember any specific stories. This was almost 30 years ago.

Isn't there a pit around there where Craftsman used to dump all the returned wrenches? That may have been another wives' tale.

I have heard there's some weird stuff that goes on around Oak Ridge. I guess because of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and security associated with that.

How do you think Musk got most of his wealth? He's a government contractor now, in the same vein as Howard Hughes. I wonder how much his ventures get from black ops money.

Mustard then dry rub. Wrapped in aluminum foil with butter and Liquid Smoke. Put in oven on bottom rack at 300 degrees (Fahrenheit) for 2 hours. Brushed with BBQ sauce and back in the oven for 30 minutes. Unwrapped and back in oven on top rack on broil for 5 minutes.

I have 2 racks in oven now overnight at 200 degrees. No mustard. Just dry rub. Will put BBQ sauce on in the morning.
