Seriously though, I was going to link this story from ABC News, but the video running along with it made sure to tell the readers/viewers that this is a scheme by Republicans to help Trump spread lies about the election. This is the MSN real "news" you speak of. I think this is why so many common "myths" from different cultures all over the world are similar to each other. They recently discovered man-altered obsidian from the Pacific NW 100 feet below the surface of Lake Huron from 10,000 years ago.

I see lumber prices dropping as other things are still hard to source. That, with the news that interest rates may soon be on the rise, make it seem like things are getting more back to normal. The lockdowns caused the "Great Depresson of 2020" and I feel like we're in for an extended period of growth. Of course, there will be some hiccups as the economy balances itself out.

I'd like to hear some other views on this, especially people like me who've been around long enough to see these cycles.

What did I do to you? Both statements I made were the truth. That link you posted is a refutation of what you said and I heard my instructor say those things. I didn't call you a liar. I was interested in learning more. You must be really fun at parties.

Here's a link that backs up what my instructor told me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_prisoners_of_war_in_the_United_States

As for your assertion about Eisenhower trying and succeeding in killing over a million German prisoners; all of the accusations come from one person (Mr. Bacque). No one has denied that German POWs in Europe after the war were under-fed and under-sheltered for a time by the Americans, British, French, and Soviets, especially during the continent-wide food shortage of 1945. Even the IRC said that conditions improved within 2 months after they filed grievances.

As to how American POWs were treated, this article tells the story. Worse than German POWs in America, but understandable with the Germans low on food and supplies for their own war effort. https://www.warhistoryonline.com/instant-articles/germanys-pow-camp.html

The back porch was full of trash, too. Honestly, the bathroom was better than I expected. I hauled off 3 trailer loads of garbage. I know a guy who said he can bring those floors back. I plan on doing a full remodel. I was renting this out for $700 (about $200 below market due to the 100 year-old original windows) but can get closer to $1500 a month if I do a full remodel while it's empty and needs repair. I will make the bathroom bigger and add a master bathroom.

My wife saw a family go through $ millions in less than 10 years after a lottery win. There is a reason wealth stays in families. Finances is mostly a skill passed down generationally. It helps if you have backing from the family when you start out in life, but you have to know how to keep it and grow it.

I know. I thought I'd play along.

There was a Dave Chapell Show skit where black Americans were given reparations. If you haven't seen it, most people spent the money on cars, tv's, jewelry. The money ended up back in the hands of the few. I see something like that happening to lots of people if we were all given $100K. Come to think of it, I saw just that with both the Covid-relief checks as well as the extra unemployment checks. Supposedly debt was paid down, too, but I saw lots of needless spending on imported items.

I see this virus outbreak maybe a little differently. I think because it spread so easily and overwhelmed some of the national healthcare systems of the earliest hit countries, that it scared the rest of the world into overreacting before it hit them. I do think it's a man-made virus. That it accidentally escaped from the Wuhan lab. That the governments in China and the U.S. knew early on what it was and where it came from. That this pandemic was used as an opportunity by World powers for political gain. That it was mistreated early on. That most people have either been infected and are immune or are vaccinated and are immune. That the vaccine has strange side effects for some people. That masks offer almost no protection other than reminding people to not touch their faces in public and to wash their hands before they touch their food. That lockdowns initially slowed the spread so not the overwhelm the hospitals but became obsolete and even harmful as we learned more about the virus.

Although Fauci is not an elected official, he is a politician. He didn't stay the director of the NIAID since 1984 without knowing how to "work the room". He told the public what he felt we needed to hear even as the message changed as time went on and we learned more about this virus. He, like most politicians, has a God Complex. The rest of us are lesser beings and don't matter in their grand scheme of things. We are the masses to be controlled because we can't take care of ourselves. Bill Gates has a God Complex.

Look at you with more to offer than a gently used jar of mayonnaise for sale. edit I see that you are crackerjack3 and not crackerjack.

Could be. I remember when the Japanese were buying up the commercial real estate in the 80's. There was worry about the Japanese being able to control the U.S. one day. Have you seen the movie Blade Runner? It portrayed a dystopian future of this. The problem is that the real estate prices dropped and the Japanese quit buying and even sold at a loss.

https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-02-21-mn-2588-story.html

From the article: "Real estate experts also cautioned against drawing the conclusion that Japanese real estate investors are faring worse than their American counterparts, even though many Japanese bought property at the market peak from 1988 to 1990. The analysts noted that the nation’s merciless real estate slump--caused by overbuilding, the slowing economy and a drying up of credit--has hammered a wide range of U.S. real estate tycoons as well, among them Donald J. Trump, Edward J. DeBartolo and John Portman.

“The Japanese were no dumber than the Americans,” said Anthony Downs, a Brookings Institution real estate expert in Washington.

Still, Japanese investors in Los Angeles, where they own about 45% of the premium downtown office space, have been especially hurt. Rodman said recent appraisals of such space shows that building values have fallen from 20% to 30% since the late 1980s."

I can see the same thing happening to this real estate market in the next 5 to 10 years.

The owners of factories and mines used to build neighborhoods and even towns and take the rent out of wages, along with food and supplies bought at the company owned store. Now that was a feudal system. Real estate is the current investment that they think will bring the most return. It also allows them to dump fiat currency into an asset that they feel is safe against inflation. It will be sold when they find the next best investment. I am also seeing real estate being traded like currency. People are selling in high-priced, established areas and buying in up-and-coming areas. When they cash in while selling "high", they overpay a little to buy back in to the "low". A lot of the people who bought in "low" around 2008, have been selling this year.

This is a piece by the Associated Press that NPR ran. It is a good example of the writer trying to tell the reader how to feel about the story while holding back certain facts.

It requires voter rolls to be purged of dead voters monthly.

It requires paper back-ups to be kept if electronic voting is used.

Poll watchers can only be removed if they engage in election fraud; not on a Judge's whim.

Election officers are required to listen to poll watchers who flag election irregularities or fraud.

Poll watchers can watch data in the form of paper or digital being sealed for transfer.

It creates a misdemeanor for obstructing a poll watcher or any number of election officials or public office holders.

A voter can only deliver a filled ballot in person during election hours on election day and poll watchers can not interfere; only watch.

If a person is assisting a voter, they have to fill out a report of who they are, how they are associated with the voter, and why they are assisting. If they are assisting at the polling place, they must take an oath administered by an election official.

It is a felony to compensate someone for voting.

Higher penalties for repeat offenders.

Felony for election judges helping to commit voter fraud or changing ballots.

Felony for vote harvesting and clarifies definitions of vote harvesting.

Biden spokesperson Jen Psaki worked for Israeli spy firm by Drewski in politics

Spy firm? From what I read in this article, this company is less a "spy firm" than Google or Facebook. Also, Psaki's personal company earned a measly $5000 as a communications consultant for them. Don't get me wrong; Psaki pushes the progressive/communist agenda while scooping up as much money as she can "networking" her way around the world, and as she leaves the Biden administration, she is surely looking forward to upping her income.

Thanks for posting this. I had always heard that the divorce rate for law enforcement was higher, too, but that seems to be an outdated study and it may even be lower than the national average. I can't find a recent study, though. A reason I would believe that domestic violence rate is slightly higher is the higher occurrence of PTSD while on the job affecting home life.
