(Poll) Do you think Pseudo-Lesbians (aka "Weekend Lesbians," "part-timers," etc.) are more so actual lesbians pretending to be straight, or actual straight women pretending to be gay? by Mcheetah in AskSaidIt

Kissing and groping hardly require any attraction, but most women using the queer label don't even do that and are entirely heterosexual by action.

I don't think women are more prone to homosexuality, but they are probably more prone to engaging in sex acts with people they are not attracted to. Prostitutes will have sex with men they are entirely repulsed by for money.

Teaching is a skill built by real world experience like tutoring. A high schooler with a strong understanding of math who has successfully tutored peers is better prepared to teach a math class than an education major who has never actually taught.

Poppy and Kim Petras are different people. Poppy's real name is Moriah Rose Pereira and as far as I know she is not trans.

They do look similar, but I don't think Petras passes all that well, particularly when he is pictured next to women.

The environment is completely different but she can't comprehend the real difference because she doesn't want to acknowledge that she isn't young anymore. The Internet I grew up with and spent a lot of time on is entirely different from the one my sister who is 10 years younger experiences now.

The shock sites she mentions, while they are pornography, were not really meant to be titillating. They were gross. Clicking a link meant to disgust you at 12 is not the same as the hyper sexualized environment that exist on Instagram or wherever. The fanfiction and roleplay sites tended to be sexually explicit but in a very unrealistic way that you would expect from a teenager who didn't really understand sex. Now teenagers get carefully produced content made by adults that tends to be very physical.

Also the internet is much more real life then it used to be. A desktop/laptop computer that sits at home that is mostly used to talk to people you don't know in real life is very different from a smart phone that you always have on you that is mostly used to talk to people you go to school with.

I'm sure there was more he could have done to avoid it, but there is no protection against forced vaccination for minors if their parents approve. It is completely legal for your parents to drag you into the building and hold you down for any medical treatment.

Currently the system is in favor of whatever treatment a doctor will agree to. A minors consent only matters if the parents consent cannot be obtained.

I think I am mishearing McKinnon's argument. Is he saying that men with naturally low testosterone out compete men with naturally higher testosterone? Which would correctly imply that men hold an athletic advantage over women regardless of testosterone suppression and should be excluded from women's sports?

I think she has bought a bit too much into gender ideology. She can't place why she doesn't feel like a woman because for the most part, women tend to just be women without any particular feelings about it.

[–]TulipPoplar 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think it is a personality that is more common in women (particularly late boomer women in my experience, but that could just be my age). The type that doesn't like competition in anything because they believe it is unfair to judge someone negatively when they tried. It was usually this type of women who pushed to not keep score in competitions, or made sure to grade assignments in green pen because red is too negative. Winning is just not as important to them as everyone feeling accomplished since everyone tried.

If competition is seen negatively, but exercise is still obviously good it doesn't matter if you win anything as long as you ran around a bit. So a sports star is a role model who exercises, not necessarily a role model who wins competitions.

Proposed California bill requires majority of children's sections in department stores to be gender-neutral by Rationalmind in GenderCritical

[–]TulipPoplar 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

At least from the excerpt it seems the only thing necessary to comply with the bill is to take down signs that say boy or girl. The thinking behind this is so bizarre. The type of parent who won't buy their son a skirt or something from the girl's section are not going to be swayed to permit it because it is from the gender neutral kids section.

I don't understand the disclaimer to protect trans or nonbinary from being outed at work. Non binary would be outed by virtue of being nonbinary. Trans is fairly obvious in most cases as well. The stated purpose is to reduce shame around menstruation so it can't be that. So is it female the want to avoid being outed as?
