Which is why it is crucially important for everyone to understand and to shift to the idea of 'Agency'
it is an innate and inalienable part of all living beings
Our agency precedes externally sanctioned rights and laws

The core of our problems is that everyone has been de-Agency-fied (self de-Agency-fied, to be precise) without even knowing it
Our problems end, when each of us re-Agency-fy our own self.
Else, the millennia old (self) subjugation of mankind continues.

I am glad to hear that the idea of Direct Change resonates with you.

I think it is NOT productive to cyclically repeat the same mistakes, over and over again.

Indeed and we should start by changing the nature of engagement we have with one another: accretive dialogue instead of ephemeral chatter.

s/Collabocracy is a follow up to my previous posts: 1, 2

I hope that you will also check out the wiki for Collabocracy.
I have formally incorporated two key concepts recently: 'Agency' and 'PDCA' @ periodic reckoning.

Your inputs (questions, suggestions, comments, etc) and buy-in will be essential for any of these ideas to actually get anywhere.

On the topic of labelling others, the following is a re-post from s/WritingsOnTheWall:

Language (words and narratives) frames mindset

  • words e.g. "Evil", "Tyranny"

Even though they appear useful to describe the problem, the descriptor 'tyranny', similar to the descriptor "evil"- is de-agency-fying as it locks in the mind - constrains the mind - giving the idea power it did not have - and certainly not solving the condition it describes

  • Descriptors like "tyranny" or "evil" that depict issues in absolute terms can set up a fixed mindset, undermining belief in positive change.

  • Framing challenges as insurmountable problems locates agency externally, disempowering collective creative capacities for solutions.

  • Polarizing or adversarial language breeds oppositional thinking instead of shared understanding.

  • Focusing solely on deficiencies defines reality by what's lacking versus untapped strengths/possibilities.

Fixating on the problem and not recognizing:

  1. one's Agency for solving the problem,
  2. one's possible, unwitting culpability in the problem

waters, not rids, the weeds of powerlessness and
absolves the mere onlookers.

You:

You have every right to share thoughts. You're not backing it up tho.

To re-cap:
My OP: The 'Parables' in the Gospel of Thomas included 'defects'
meant to be picked up and challenged by listeners
Saying:
20:"Mustard seed? The farm will quickly be overrun by them weeds!"
57:"Let weeds grow with the wheat? They'll lower yield by up to 50%!"
[This link was also provided.]
8: "Use the right sized mesh net to catch only the big fish faster and effortlessly"

Once one has accepted this premise, the discrepancies in Sayings 96 and 107 will become laughably obvious.
If they still escape detection, feel free to just ask me.

You:

But it's good you're interested in this. Just look more into Gnosticism before falling for it.

'Gnosticism' is a label slapped on the Gospel of Thomas - but researchers do not agree it is a Gnostic text
I think this label is what blocks people from seeing what is right in front of their eyes.
Thus, to be able to see, they should remove what is blocking their ability to see: the label.

Notice also that my focus here is only on the Parables as recorded in the Gospel of Thomas - i.e. what they were intended to teach - and from the foregoing, the Parables are asking the audience to listen closely at what is being said to them - use your own senses and mind.
Does anyone have a problem with that?

You:

This YouTube video you watched is no good, either they don't know what it's about or they're intentionally misleading you.

Anyone who actually watched the video would see that it has nothing to do with either the Gospel of Thomas nor Gnosticism.
Rather, it is a real life example of how one's mindset - unexamined / fixed & inflexible - is weaponized against oneself.

Not sure where you came up with that.

By reading the words and trying to match them against real life experience.

Why are we overthinking and putting words in Jesus mouth over this gnostic gospel.

Reading the parables uninterpreted and uncontextualized in the Gospel of Thomas,
I had the nagging feeling: "something is not quite right", and with just a little closer look, the discrepancies leapt at me.
At first it was one parable, then all of them.
That's how I came to the point/conclusion made in the post above.

I can continue with Sayings 96 and 107, but maybe you would like to have a stab at them.

Saying 8:
"The human being is like a sensible fisherman who cast his net into the sea
and drew it up from the sea filled with little fish.
Among them the sensible fisherman found a large, fine fish.
He threw all the little fish back into the sea, (and) he chose the large fish effortlessly.
Whoever has ears to hear should hear."

Jesus must have asked his fishermen audience:
"Tell me, what's wrong with this story?

A seven year-old daughter of a fisherman in the audience must have tugged at her mother's clothes and said:
"Mum, won't a sensible fisherman have used a net with bigger holes (i.e. bigger mesh net)?
That way the little fishies won't have been caught and frightened (i.e. traumatized) by the fisherman.
And, it would have been easier and faster to pull just the big fish.
What a silly fisherman.
Mum, I don't trust this guy."

And Jesus upon hearing this, would have declared as he smiled at the girl:
"This child has understood and spoken well. Be like this child!"

Here's another version of Saying 5:
"Understand what is right in front of your face,
and all the secrets will be revealed to you.
There is no secret that will not be revealed."

This Saying is simply saying:
review what is observable i.e. empirical evidence ('what is before you') for knowledge; in other words: "science it".

It's wrong but not on purpose

Sayings 8, 20, 57, 96, 107 in the Gospel of Thomas intentionally include obvious 'defects' / 'invitation for retort' for the reason stated in my post above.

e.g. for Sayings 20 & 57, this should be self-explanatory to support my point.

The Parables of Jesus: Were the Parables for perfecting People? Or, were the Parables to be perfected by People? by EddieC in WritingsOnTheWall

[–]EddieC[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In this post, I am posing a question on the intent of the Parables.

The first possibility: "perfecting" people (quotes added) - the intent: to moralize people based on the dogma used to interpret the parables - locking ("fettering") them into assigned positions pre-determined by dogma

The second possibility: "perfecting" the parables - the intent: to elicit retorts from the Listeners / the Audience / the People: "Something is not quite right!"
Next, for the People to point out what is not right AND what should be right Ultimately to demonstrate: Agency is innately with the People - specifically for critical thinking - thus freeing them from dogma.

There is a third possibility I have alluded to in the post, but we can get to that once we have sorted out the first two.

Solving the bot problem is IMO quite easy:
Forget the front page - there are too many un-modded subs
Just bookmark & go to two subs:

  • for all the easy going stuff: (say) s/zomsvibe
  • for serious discussion: (say) s/wellbeing, or any one of the subs u/zapped mods - so that he can add mods

but it seems like bots are only one small part of problem here.

Indeed, the newer, obvious bots are just a cover for the real misdirection ---by pre-existing, regular accounts

because let's face it - no one here is even discussing solving the real problem:

We need Full Spectrum Resolution to end Full Spectrum Usurpation

Edit to add - to be more precise:
Full spectrum de-Agency-ficatiton led to full spectrum Usurpation
We need:
Full spectrum Re-Agency-fication for full spectrum Resolution

All it takes is - Direct Change by everyone i.e. Aggregated Agency:

Avoid the modern day 'sirens' and the 'cul-de-sacs" people are being corral-led towards

Have Accretive Dialogue for Sustaining Systems

The point is that eventually there will be justice and degenerate cultures like modern culture are destroyed.

Through the Divinity+End Times+Other Realm combo,
The People have become de-Agency-fied ("tied up") & Usurped ("plundered')
in this realm by the Few

Justice delayed is justice denied
Justice delayed indefinitely is justice perverted
-- thus shall all faith tradition and creed be measured

Should GOD destroy the Earth and take us out our misery?

A true freewill-respecting divine entity will not

A less than true freewill-respecting entity may...
-- but that would come at a cost: the loss of true freewill
i.e. de-Agency-fication

The sooner everyone realizes: we are on our own - the better
Because only then can we finally recognize:
Our Agency for Reciprocity
